My tip is- write down your desired schedule before you book.  It helped me keep everything straight 🙂. Also, sometimes the reservations in the planner didn’t show, so I referred back to my sheet of paper 🙂

I second this.  I look at the time we are in port until and when the shows I want to see start and play 2 hrs for dinner.  Specialty restaurants tend to be very slow!!!

We were on the symphony over New Years and while the general resort never felt crowded, the waterpark had such long lines our kids were able to go on two rides all day. They were told to come back around 2 when the lines were really long for the tall water slide in the morning. However, around 1pm half day tickets were being sold so the lines never decreased

Granted it was a holiday cruise with tons of kids, but we all felt the money ($89) for admission to the waterpark was pretty much a waste of money due to the long lines.

Other than that Cococay was beautiful and chairs were plentiful.

I'm glad you said this.  We will be on the Harmony over mid winter break and there will be us and the empress.  The water park tickets are now up to 124.99!!!!  There is no way I am paying $250.00 for my daughter and I to go on a couple slides when we have slides on our ship.

Anthony's Key Resort has Dolphin Encounters.   But unless they've corralled some manatees from the mainland doubt there are any on the island naturally.

It was with them.  Now I went to check it out again and it just says Dolphin encounters.  And it is 30 dollars more 😥

  4. A- Is CK the designated dinning are for suite guests (like luminae)?   Yes.  As sky class you can eat all of your meals in CK if you would like.

B- Does one need reservations for CK or can you simply show up?  For breakfast and lunch you can just show up, but for dinner you will have the concierge make reservations for you.  He will email you the week before you cruise and help arrange your reservations.

c- Is the Suite lounge open 24/7?  No.  I can't remember the hours, but I believe it close at 11 o'clock.

D- Do they serve complimentary cocktails all day (similar to Michael's club)?  Cocktails are free from 5:30-8.  Starting at 11 am you can get free select beers and wine, soda, and bottled water.

E- if the cocktails are not complimentary can you buy them at any time?  Yes.  There is a bar in there, but it is not a full service bar.  They do not have blenders, but you can get many mixed drinks.

F- What hours is the Suite Lounge staffed with concierge, bartenders ?  Concierge from 8:30-11:30 and 5-8:30.  Bartenders are from there until 11.  I am not sure what time they are staffed.

G- Does the suite lounge provide complementary bottled water, soda, coffee, tea to go all day?  Bottled water and soda is from 11-11.  Coffee and tea all day I believe.

H- Is the Suite Lounge open on embarkation day prior to the rooms being ready? Yes

I- Where is the Suite sun deck located? How does one access it if they can not walk?  This is a major problem.  My father is handicap and we too stayed in accessible crown loft on Harmony.  They did not have an elevator, so unless you can walk up a large flight of stairs, you are out of luck.  It is up a flight of stairs on the forward side of the ship from the pool deck.

J- We have not been to Coco Cay in 2 years. From the looks of it, it has changed drastically (Not to mention how much it has changed in the 20 years since we were first there). We liked the Suite cabanas to the left of where you leave the ship and close to snorkeling. Which location of Cabanas is near there and has amenities like bathrooms, food, and waiters?  Not sure.

K- What is the earliest Suite guests may disembark if they are NOT carrying their luggage off?  We have gotten off at 7 am, but that was star class.  I assume it is similar for sky class.

L- We are foodies and really like clean food. (We live part time in LA as does our daughter so we have developed the crazy GF, no Diary, lifestyle, our daughter is a pescatarian). What restaurants would you recommend? ( we found plenty for the splurge especially for my husband who begrudgingly goes along with our food limits).  CK, specialty restaurants, and main dining room will be very accommodating.

    K- Any other tips?

We were offered Izumi at 5pm or 9pm. We took the 5pm. My preference is 6-6:30 but most of our meals were 5:30 with one 6pm. They told us they were full but most restaurants were not full when we were there.

From what I remember, Izumi hibachi is not included in UDP, but sometimes you can get it on the first night included.  Has this changed?

Still trying to convince DW that we should book this cabin.  She's concerned about the lack of privacy.  Another curious thing is that 1720 is currently available all summer '20, while other suites (royal loft, owners panoramic, and grand panoramic ) are not.  Strange.  Is RCL holding back on the others???

I would really try to convince her.  I love it so much.  The views are amazing and the room is amazing!

I have a question for you.  We stayed in a loft suite on the Anthem.  That suite faced the stern, so there was a beautiful view and plenty of privacy.  Did you feel any lack of privacy in 1720?  Was there noticeable noise from the public areas below?

You are completely visible from the sports deck only if you are on the balcony.  It wasn't an issue for me at all.  Most people are not on the sports deck until at least 9 when things open, and it is up above them.  The room is quiet, but it is loud on the balcony.  I loved having the music and especially loved the view.  I had the ocean to my left, and the sports deck.  I loved having something to watch.  I spent so much time on the balcony.  It is not for everyone though.

  8. Not sure if you went already, but I went with my dad who is in a wheelchair in February.  They have trails to take your wheelchair.  Then my dad is able to walk a little when holding on so we would walk him to a chair or lounger and put him in the shade.  there are handicap bathrooms as well.  It all worked well and my dad enjoyed himself.

Who said Starbucks is not offered each morning for delivery to your suite? We just sailed Symphony in Dec '18 and we had SBux delivered each morning. Room service brings it. You or the Genie will put in your "standing order" with room service and they are the department to bring those items to your suite as per your requested delivery times/days. Anything food/beverage, including from any specialty restaurant that's included in the Star Class benefits can be delivered in suite.

Our Genie had told us that they weren't allowed to do that.  I was on the Allure and the Oasis.

  10. I have had 2 genies in the past year and from what you describe it does sound like he didn't do his job.  We told our genie about my daughters birthday and the room was decorated with banner, she received a gift, and a birthday cake was delivered.  All without being asked for.  As for activities, she planned all dinners and shows and for activities, she suggested the parade and ice skating as she knew my daughter might be interested.  Other than that, flyers were in the welcome party with invites to sail away party.  Starbucks is no longer allowed to be delivered, but our genies did inform us all that was included.  She also asked us what snacks we would like to see in the room, and met with us at dinner most nights, called daily, and popped in to ask if we needed anything.  I would have definitely had a conversation while on the cruise.  Did they reserve seats for you at the shows?  Ask to bring you snacks?

  11. I love Izumi Hibachi.  I go 1-2 times every cruise.  I think it is well worth the money as you do get a lot of food.  Also, last cruise I got a cyber Monday deal for the UDP for $152 pp.  We were able to go to Izumi Hibachi the first night when it is usually not included because most people don't go the first night.  This is a great way to get Izumi for cheaper.

  12. I was on the Allure in February of last year.  My father fell on the ship and was on blood thinners causing hematomas to form as well as a nasty gash needing 16 stitches.  The medical staff stitched him up, but recommended and arranged for my father to visit a doctor once we reached our next port, St. Thomas.  I cannot imagine they just kicked them off, or used those words.  The doctors on board were very helpful, but the safety of the patient comes first.  If they cannot help them properly on board, they need to get them to a place that can.  Knowing my father has some health issues, we bought insurance and since St. Thomas is  U.S. Virgin Island, his medical insurance extended there as well.  It was a bad call on their part.
