  1. We just upgraded our 1A staterooms to C2 plus adding the classic beverage package and $300 OBC perks in each room for just $240 per room. We are super happy about that. Today, I went to Celebrity to check my booking, I found the OBC for both rooms are already available and ready to be used, however, it shows $350 in each room instead of $300. Is there a reason why I am getting a bonus?

Someone reported recently that a TA has to agree to allow their customers to participate in the Move Up program.  Their TA which was a popular discount Warehouse store refuses to participate.

I read somewhere else that the warehouse is not part of the move up program. It is not clear if they refuse to participate or they are not eligible to under their contract with cruise company.

  3. I guess you can wait a little bit but monitor the price and availability. There is still time to see further price drop unless there is a specific suites you want. I did not want to upgrade our rooms as we are interested in large balcony in specific location where we booked our rooms. I just upgraded both last night and moved up 3 floors for a small price but with addition perks.

Thank you all for your replies.

I think I am going to stick with the cabin I have and wait and see if I can get an upgrade after final payment with the amount I have already paid.

Make sure you check the price frequently before final payment and ask for adjustment. That would lower your paid cost  and leave you more options for upgrade after final payment.

  5. First time cruiser but experienced deal hunter here. I booked the May 2019 cruise in December 2018 for two 1A stateroom with huge balconies and no perks. Then I called the TA 3 times until the final payment day a month ago for price adjustments to save around $480 total. Then the price dropped further afterward. Tonight, I called the TA again to upgrade both rooms to C2 at the same location but 3 floors up so with the same size of balcony plus adding 2 perks to each room. I ended up paying $480 more which is the same amount as my original booking in December but with upgraded rooms and additional perks. Nevertheless, it is still cheaper than new booking for the same class as my port fee and tax remains at the 2018 level which is around $15 less PP than the new rate. The 2 perks cost $500 per room, so there is a $1000 saving just for that even without counting the upgrade. I am sure the price will go further down, but there are not many rooms with large balcony left that I would like to upgrade to. Too bad that there is no Aqua class room for 4.

  6. I totally jumped into it. Just called my TA and upgraded 2 staterooms for 6 from 1A to C2 plus added 2 perks for $240 per room for a 7 night cruise to Alaska. Got both rooms upgraded at the same location of the ship but 3 floors up. For the additional $480 we paid, we got $600 OBC, $50 more giftcard, and classic beverage packages for 4 in addition to the room upgrade. Together with all the Concierge benefit, it totally worth it. :classic_biggrin:

For the C2 room itself, it is currently a little bit cheaper than the 1A stateroom price that I have paid and may not be eligible to upgrade. But with the 2 perks added, I can upgrade.

Interesting.  I am the parent of a young adult with many food allergies, some severe.  She has been on a number of Celebrity cruises, both with and without us.  She has never eaten in the buffet in self-service due to the risk of cross contamination and because the buffet never listed all the possible ingredients.  Maybe it is due to what she is allergic to?  If the MDR was not open, she went to the buffet area, found the M’d on duty, who called the chef on duty, who prepared something she could eat in back or who got the untouched trays to get her food without risk of cross contamination.

She is is allergic to soy, rice, nuts (both peanut and tree nut), melon, eggplant, peaches, apples, pears, oranges, shellfish, and probably more but I no longer keep up with it all.

Good to know. My younger daughter also has multiple food allergies. Our cruise is 9 weeks away. I have heard we should contact Celebrity about that before the cruise. Have you done that and how? Thanks in advance.

The car rentals will be locally supported by the Seattle downtown location at:

The correct address is 1601 3rd Avenue. I found the same typo posted on tripadvisor too presumbably copied from the same website with incorrect information.

    This one is correct: https://www.portseattle.org/page/cruise-guest-services-and-accessibility

I have booked a minivan (for 6 people) from Alamo at this location after the cruise for a 2 day tour before returning home. The car will be returned at the airport.

  9. We booked two excursions with local tour companies over the Internet. Both have full refund (minus credit card processing fee) if the ship changes schedule and could not make it for the tours. I found this to be a rather common practice when I was shopping for excursions. The one I got actually is refundable if cancelled 7 days or earlier before the tour. There is also a small fee if you want to have full cancellation protecrion on the tour.
