Sounds good, thanks!

I have a log in and account set up with the NCL site and app. When we get on the ship, will my husband need his own log in and password, or does he just use the app with my login info?

If not priority, what is the earliest?

On the Viva in March and I was able to book our Beetlejuice show and Press Your Luck at 21 days out. Not sure how that works, as I thought I had to wait until on board too.

Are you in the Haven? I though you couldn't prebook entertainment on Prima and Viva and had to go to the theater when you arrive onboard.
We are not in the Haven, just a regular balcony. I don't know, it let me.🤷♀️

If you want to learn a bit of the island and do an island tour, I VERY HIGHLY recommend Cleve's Tours. He is PHENOMENAL and I guarantee it will be a memorable experience. He caters to you, so you can set something up that you want to do.
We vacationed on Roatan last year with some friends, and Cleve (or his wife or employee)s were our island tour guide, and we also used him throughout the week for our airport transfers, and other transportation needs during the week.

We travel quite often, never do the insurance. But considering it this trip (we are getting older after all) (and just heard a horrific story from a friend who's friend passed away on vacation last week), I am considering it. I just checked out GeoBlue from the comments here and it looks pretty comprehensive, straight forward, and reputable. For our upcoming cruise, it's less than $45pp, which I can stomach.

I just booked Beetlejuice for our March 17th sailing. I had the option of Thurs or Fri at 7pm or (I believe) 9pm. Maybe 9:30pm. I hear it gets cancelled or rescheduled quite a bit.

I'm confused about whether there are any theme/party nights on the Viva Caribbean cruise? I read more than once there there is NOT. Then someone posted somewhere about how much fun the 80's night was. I also saw a mention of a White Night. So..................

Thank you for taking the time to write the review! Loved reading it. We sail in March.

Probably depends on the cruise line, but we have. Along with soda and water.
I'll have to find out (NCL). I prefer a Gatorade in the morning over water, and especially after a few too many drinks!
-
We cannot bring Gatorade on the ship, can we?

Appreciate your details review. We aren't big cruisers, and I've always completely dismissed Virgin because of the pricing, but I am learning to look closer at their offers.

We didn't notice the fine print on the bottom that is pointed out, so when we booked we were already booking at a bit of a price increase from the day before when we looked, then to find that added on at the very end was a little extra blow. Why "hide" it with the fine print when everything else appeared to be on that total booking page?

Does this apply to the Free at Sea drink package or only the premium one?
Then I would be able to bring my wine on board and keep it in my cabin for drinking?

I do bring my own towel that I use for beach excursions. It's one of those thin Turkish cotton towels. It's lightweight, dries quickly, and the sand doesn't stick to it. I find it helps me locate my beach lounger quickly because it's different from all the rest of the towels. I can also use it as a blanket or wrap.
I can see that working out. A friend gave me some fun chair clips to clip the beach towel to the chair and I like them to help me find my chair too. I have some cute flamingo ones and flip flops.

On average, about how many people on a cruise are masking up? We travel a fair amount (mostly Disney lately) and have just recently given up wearing masks on planes (no longer at Disney either). I'll be bringing masks with on our cruise, just curious how common it is. I know people that cruise a couple times a year and always come home sick, even before Covid was a thing.

I was reading a different thread, maybe on the NCL board, that some prefer to pack their own to use on shore excursions. Some comments said the supplied pool towels were too bulky, or even hard to get on shore days - required going up to the pool deck to get before going on shore, others said they are usually available to sign out at the exit.
Personally, I don't think I would want to both packing my own, plus I prefer a clean towel for the next use instead of reusing mine, or trying to wash it out every day.

Wow, thanks Cantgetin!!! Clears it up quite a bit. We have been talking about a European/Med cruise next year possibly. I guess I need to research VV a bit more for that now.

The best way I can explain it is that we got off our first VV sailing with 3 more booked!
That pretty much says it all. The price scares me, but I can see that a lot more is included. Is ALL the food included, or is there any at all that you would have to pay extra for? No real drink packages but some drink credits (?) (we ae from WI so we enjoy our beverages and I enjoy my wine)!

I loved your trip report! I've done a few cruises and just booked on NCL for the caribbean with some friends. I keep seeing ads for Virgin on my facebook and it has me curious as to what is so special about them. I learned some more about them with your report, I appreciate it and am glad you had such a great time!!!

We are doing this cruise in March, just booked. Started looking at the excursions and thinking we may venture out on our own. Too many, all similar, and just overwhelming. So I’ll be curious if there are suggestions.
-
Well, we booked last night! Pretty excited.
it didn’t allow us to pick our room, but I will reach out to our NCL rep on Monday to ask about it. She said she would link our two rooms together so our friends will at least be close. I’ll take in to consideration location based on what everyone has said, if we are given a choice, so thank you everyone.

Boarding time for Viva in San Juan

Thanks. We have 12:30, but wanted to show up early (rather than later) but wasn't sure what time is set aside first for the Haven and/or Priority.
