  1. Whenever we go to Barbados we love to spend time in the BoatYard. Fantastic beach, variety of water sports, snorkeling and diving, delicious bar and restaurant and always full with energetic people who know how to have fun!

What's with the flurry of posting advertisements for Anastasia? See post #49 - exactly the same video as posted in #51 above.

BTW ... due to Covid 19, Russia's borders are currently closed.

Hi dogs4fun, and thanx for pointing that out 🙂

FYI, I didn't post the video, I merely quoted flowslow's post and even if I did, what is wrong with that?

I thought we are here to share experiences, give advices and recommendations.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Hmmm. I consider our Baltic cruise for our 30th anniversary as our best one we ever had. In less than a month we were supposed to go on a Norwegian fjords cruise that of course has been cancelled. And we were really also looking forward to our excursion back to the airport stopping at Stonehenge.

Aww, I 'm sorry your cruise was cancelled, but you can try and get on the same one next year. You have to see the Norwegian fjords... It's a little similar to Alaska, but better! 🙂

I love really small, private group tours, something with a maximum of 10 persons in a group. I enjoy the tour better and I feel like I am fully immersed in the tour. It might be on the more expensive side but it's a better experience over all.

I stumbled upon this video and I thought it might be helpful to anyone who's undecided on what to choose and book:

This is Anastasia from Anastasia Travel. We booked our St.Petersburg 2-day full excursion with them and we highly recommend getting yourself in a group of no more than 8! Ours turned out to be exactly what we wanted, something that is hard to get when booking tours anywhere really. We prefer booking our own tours rather than with the cruise line, and since St.Petersburg we learned that a small group is the way to go.

  5. We went by with Euros and a credit card. Not sure where you will use toilet to pay, everytime we have been out i use toilets mostly in malls, restaurants, coffee places... Where they don't charge you. If you are on a tour, most likely the tour guide will take you to toilets where you don't have to pay.

  6. Actually end of May is a good time to go to the Med. The temperatures are not that hot, still from 17 to 25 Celsius. June is more rainy and humid and July and August scorching hot. Also end of May is not yet summer season which means ports may not be as crowded.

Yes, I think this is true in some cases.  I hope someone who knows will chime in.

That is true. A lot of the crew like Buffet stewards, utility cleaners, laundry crew, cabin stewards.... share a cabin of 4 and share a bathroom with another cabin of 4. Their cabins are on deck 2 and 3 which is below water surface. I agree with Loreni as the crew need better and more comfortable living conditions. Their cabins are like a matchbox. Can't imagine living there for 6 or 9 months and pray to get a good sleep.

  8. A 14 days Caribbean cruise on the Sea Princess back in 2008/2009. Only 2 sea days and long stays, embarking ports were Montego Bay/Ocho Rios (can't remember which)and Barbados. Loved the itinerary, loved the beaches and got a nice bronze tan that lasted for awhile.

  9. Hard case is way better if you have fragile items but a pain when you want to store it in a small cabin on the ship.

Soft cases or a duffle bag would be a better choice for me. I find 4 wheels much easier. Carry on is always a backpack.

  10. Great itinerary and a lot more to do than Alaska 🙂

Amsterdam- Is such a beautiful city , you need to get there at least two days prior sailing as there is a lot to explore.

    Flam

    Sognefjord

Bergen- we walked around the beautiful medieval centre houses and had salmon and salad at the open food market downtown.(The most expensive lunch I've ever had, and in a food market, on wooden benches) 🙂

    Molde

    Geiranger

    Geirangerfjord-breathtaking landscape

    Stavanger-has lots of museums

    Kristiansand

Oslo-Hop on Hop off bus/Viking museum

Copenhagen-  We spent most of the day in Tivoli Gardens, and took a ride to the Little Mermaid

    Hello ,

I couldn't find the video about Europe, but in case you are interested I can share a link to the one I received from a company we booked a tour couple of years ago - they made a short video of St Petersburg in this April

Lovely! We booked our 2-full day excursion with Anastasia and these videos make me so nostalgic!
