I might see you out there, on the other hand, I often walk prior to my coffee watching the sunrise!

I'm always walking around-- the biggest negative for me is not having a dedicated walking area.  Crystal had a great deck for running and walking.  Once I got used to walking on Seabourn it really didn't matter.

See you on deck 10---- very soon!

  2. I was on 5 segments (B2B) recently.     I automatically  received new spirits each segment -- it was a lot of spirits for someone who doesn't drink in their room-- but people who did not receive them were very happy to accept them. .

It might be helpful to reach out or have the TA reach out to Seabourn directly as my impression is the 50% solo rate is not necessarily published. This is on the website with regard to solo special offers:

    SPECIAL OFFER FOR SOLO TRAVELERS

Seabourn is pleased to offer solo travelers a reduced single supplement starting at only 50% above current fares on select voyages and in select suite categories*. This is a unique opportunity to sail aboard the World’s Finest Ultra-Luxury Resort at Sea with exceptional fares on some of our most intriguing itineraries.

Contact your Travel Advisor or call Seabourn at 800.929.9391

It would be nice if there were some single supplements  of 50% during the first 5 months of 2023.

I will investigate this more thoroughly.  I am on the Ovation Feb.13- April 23. and hopefully will book my cruises early 2023.

Thank you for getting back to me so fast,

    Julia,

if you go to the seabourn website and look at special offers, there are quite a few cruises that offer solo fares.  I believe there is a 50% surcharge.

    Nancy

I recently checked out solo Seabourn fares for Jan,23 through  May23..  My TA and I could only find one cruise January 8th Hong-Kong to Hong Kong without a supplement- every other Seabourn cruise had a 75% supplement.

I would be very interested where to find the reduced 50% supplements.

  5. I use a taxi or Uber when going to airport or cruise terminal.  My neighbor has recommended a car service

which is reliable and less expensive.  Unfortunately cruise critic doesn't permit us to use actual names-- but their phone number is all 7's.

  6. The Crystal vs. Seabourn discussion has become a debate.

I am VERY familiar with Crystal-- having sailed on the Crystal Harmony,Symphony, and Serenity for many years. I have wonderful memories. People's needs and preferences sometimes change- and now I prefer Seabourn.

It isn't which cruise line is better- but which cruise line is a better fit for you.

  7. I hope your recent experience with UPS was unusual ,   Luggage Forward  used UPS to pick up my luggage for Feb.13 cruise.  Luggage Forward sent an email confirming that my luggage  was picked by UPS minutes after - along with a tracking #

Before choosing  Luggage Forward I checked on the internet for high rated  luggage services . There were several companies that had good reviews- including Luggage Forward.

Hoping for the best, but I will pack changes in my carry on--just incase.

  8. Azamara had an almost traditional white night on the Quest December 10 '21 cruise- On the 4 previous cruises they had " bright nights" that were different.

The" white night" was on deck 9 around the pool  (deck 10 had seating too)-  it was well organized-- seating was  socially distanced.  When it was time to get our food we were called up by the color of the card on our table to avoid crowding.  Food was served to us on the buffet.

The negative was the line up to enter .  Only the forward door on deck 9 was open-- and there was a long line to get in early--- but everyone was escorted to their table rather than the guests running to choose a table.   We were requested to wear masks on the dance floor-- even though we were outdoors.

It turned out to be a lovely, well organized evening.

  9. I understand you are concerned about pier side testing  .  I called Seabourn yesterday to check their pier side testing for my upcoming Feb. 13 cruise.  They said there will be pier side testing.

I read your previous post about inquiring if they were doing pier side test for your possible cruise over a year from now ("next fall") and shipboard testing.  I don't understand how Seabourn could answer that question --  will the covid pandemic still be here 18 months from now?

My only suggestion  is follow your own instincts.

  10. I cruised for 56 nights with a total of 2 covid cases aboard the ship.  December 23, before boarding my flight, I spent a couple of hours in the crowded Centurion lounge at Miami Airport.  Most of the people were maskless- and enjoying the self serve buffet.  I decided to enjoy a cup of coffee- and took off my mask. Four days later I tested positive for Covid.  I believe I picked up covid in the lounge.

I return to Miami 3 weeks from today for the Feb 13 cruise.  I wish Seabourn would test everyone before boarding the ship.

Nothing new here. Final dose of vaccine refers to second Pfizer or Moderna, or first (and only) J&J. Until CDC changes definition of fully vaccinated, boosters are not part of the requirement to be "fully vaccinated". As far as masks, SB "recommends" higher grade masks such as N95 or KN95, even providing the latter, but it is not "required". The cleaning of surfaces, as you note, is not just about COVID, and it makes sense that they would address this public health step as part of their overall attempt at keeping cruising as safe as possible.

Just as @Covepoint stated above, these were the rules/recs in October when we were on Ovation and what we will expect when we sail February 13. The only difference is the lack of testing pre-embarkation. I am curious about that and the reason behind it.

I don't understand the lack of testing before boarding either.  Does anyone know how booked the February 13 cruise is?  It seems that COVID peaked on the holiday cruise when they were heavily booked .It also peaked in New York City at the same time.

No matter what happens as long as the ships sails I'll be there.
