Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Lots of great movies available on Solstice
  2. I’ve noticed the same time for our upcoming cruise. It’s basically a place holder and when you board the ship you’ll be able to find out what night they’ll be offering Dinner on the Edge. If you look at your ship’s itinerary it will most likely be when the ship is in port the latest. For example we were on Apex last November and had Dinner on the Edge when we were in San Juan since we didn’t leave port until 9pm. Made for an amazing dinner experience eating outside on a beautiful evening with a full moon lighting up the harbor. price is $129. Seafood tower very good. 3 entrees on the same plate was a little unusual. Great desserts.
  3. Yes. The bid range for Edge Villa was $4K - $7k whereas the Penthouse $2K-$5K. I think when we originally were notified about MoveUp there were 2 Villas and 2 Penthouses available so it didn’t have to do with availability. Strange since the price to book the Penthouse through Celebrity was almost double the price of the Penthouse. We stayed in a Villa on Apex last year. We agree with you it’s the best suite we have stayed in (so far since we haven’t been in any other upper E class suites).
  4. Congratulations! You’ll love the Edge Villa. Did you bid on other suites? If so did your bids go from pending to some showing as expired and only the Villa showing as pending without the ability to adjust or cancel the bid? Here is a screenshot of what I noticed being sent to encourage others to increase their bids. I’m guessing if you adjusted your bid it would have taken you to a similar page.
  5. Congratulations! I’m happy you won your MoveUp offer. Did you have to wait over a week to find out your bid was accepted? We also had our MoveUp offers go from all pending to expired except for one that stayed pending without the ability to change. This happened on Oct. 27 but on Oct. 29 we found out we were upgraded. The 2 days of waiting were stressful but worth it in the end.
  6. From what I understand Celebrity starts with MoveUp and then sends out targeted emails that allows other cruises to outbid the offers Celebrity has received thru MoveUp.
  7. I don’t know if this is something Celebrity has just started but I haven’t seen anyone else post this before. We have an upcoming cruise and made a bid through the MoveUp process. I just learned from another cruiser they got an email from Celebrity letting them know they can make a bid that in essence allows them to outbid other cruisers that made bids thru MoveUp. The 3rd party handling this is https://www.plusgrade.com/ i think this is very misleading and conflicting to the MoveUp program. At least Celebrity should allow all cruisers the same opportunity.
  8. if you can please ask if they have Caymus Cabernet by the glass & Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Wishing you luck in the casino 🍀
  9. Hey PinkSandGirl - hope you and your family have a wonderful cruise. Could you ask if they plan on having “Dinner on the Edge” during their Caribbean sailings? We were able to enjoy this last year while on the Apex. Not sure if anyone in your group is a wine drinker but if they are could you see how the inventory is on your cruise. I’ve heard from others that wine choices have been hit or miss (or mostly misses). Of course their inventory will change when based out of Port Everglades but perhaps you could get a feel for what they currently have and are expecting to have. Bon Voyage!!!
  10. Could be the OP is referring to the: Classic Non-Alcoholic Package “Enjoy your favorite Coca-Cola sodas, plus fresh and bottled juices, premium coffees and teas, and non-premium bottled water.” I purchased this back in the days before we could afford to book the Retreat and 4 perks. I really love the coffees at Cafe Al Bacio and made sure to get my monies worth from my “coffee package”. Although I still had to pay for my wine consumption.
  11. I’ve been hearing rumors of the prime rib no longer being offered. 😢 At some point it was removed from our sailing a month from now. We usually book the retreat but I have always looked forward to enjoying the incredible prime rib either in the main dining room (or even hitting up one of the dinning rooms on Edge class ships) or from the option to order from the main dining room in Luminae.
  12. We book suites because of the all inclusive advantages. We considered it a challenge to get our monies worth by having the premium drink package. A normal day is at least 15 drinks per person (that includes mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, specialty coffees, pool drinks, martinis, wine & nightcaps). Opps I forgot to mention Perrier & Evan because it’s important to stay hydrated to avoid a hangover.
  13. I believe Beyond has the same technology (TV & room controls) as Edge & Apex, although Beyond has Starlink internet. We have been able to stream from iPhone or iPad on Edge & Apex but haven’t been on Beyond yet. Good information from other cruisers.
  14. Our Butler got to know us when we were in an Edge Villa last November on the Apex. He always brought us our favorite martinis pre-dinner without us even asking.
  15. Thanks for all the good advice. What do potato chips and martini’s have in common? I can never have just one and I regret it when I have too many.
