  1. Whew, Shepp! Guess you're not a fan! LOL. I'm a 5th generation San Franciscan. My fondest memories of my father are going to Niner games with him. It is a culture. A way of life. Before all of the nonsense, there was a game of skill, toughness and accuracy and during that game, you wanted your home team to win. Have you heard of the Green Bay Packers? People, working class people, own shares in that team! While I may not own shares in the Niners, it's in my blood. There has been a lot of bad press and I will probably never let my son play because of the brain damage, etc., but I do want to pass on the awesome memories of tailgates, family time and togetherness! (And THAT we still do with our son!) :)

  2. A vacation without the kids. 5 glorious days. 49ers vs. Saints on MUTS. OMG, OMG, OMG! I can't wait!!! :D

P.S., I love my kids. I love them more when they're not standing in front of the TV while the game is on. And, yes, I'm a girl. :)

  3. A nudist cruise? Oh, no! So many tushies in so many chairs!!! Ewwww. I hope they put something like a seat cover down first!!!

But naked dance classes and skinny dipping sound pretty fun. :D:D:D

Naked karaoke? Shuffleboard (careful!)? Would love to be in the back of the room for Bingo. (If you have 4 numbers, stand up!) LOLOLOL. MUTS might get a little chilly. Imagine the Captain's Party. Hold it together, Captain, stop laughing!!!

No wonder cruise ship employees have so many awesome stories!

Tip them well, folks. Look at all they have to deal with! :)

  4. I noticed on the Golden's schedule there are a lot of gaps in their itineraries. A day here, three days there...over a week in October. Where is it going? Do they really charter private cruises? Man, how do I become friends with them??? How does that even work?

"Yes, I'd like to make a reservation for 2,600 on October 31st. Thank you."

I can't even imagine how that works, but I want to be a part of it!!! LOL. I need to make better friends. LOL.

  5. Hi gang,

I asked this same question a few months ago...hoping things have changed. Does the Golden have the On Demand feature on the stateroom TV's yet? (oh please, oh please, oh please!) lol. Like, can you choose what movie you want to see and start it right then?

    Thanks,

  6. Have they upgraded the TV's on Golden to be On Demand?

My husband once told me it's silly to worry about hearing crying babies when you're travelling without them and all you want is quiet time. The beauty: They may be crying, but you don't have to do anything about it!!! It's all in your attitude. ;)

  7. Hi!

Does anyone know if Golden Princess has had their TV's upgraded to flat screens yet and if they are equipped with On Demand. We had it on Sapphire last month and it was awesome!

Planning a cruise in November and that is a major selling point. I know, I know...who goes on a cruise to watch TV? Me and my hubby, that's who!!! We have little kids...it would be great to see a real movie and not a cartoon! I may not ever leave the cabin!!!

  8. Just off the Sapphire and didn't see the crab shack offered,...but then again, I was with family and didn't know to look out for it in the Patters. Any chance this will be on other west coast getaways?

  9. Glad someone from the boards saw her. I am so NOT a stage mom, etc. but since she wouldn't go back to the childcare, I made the most of it. Who doesn't love a 3 year old?!

We had the pizza at the grill on the 3rd day...maybe it wasn't cooked well when you went? Maybe I was more focused on feeding the kids their 86th hot dog!

Looks like you enjoy the California cruises! I talked hubby into putting down a future cruise deposit! :) Maybe sometime in October or November without the kids! I can't wait!

  10. Hi,

We were on this sailing, too. We were in an inside cabin on the Caribe deck (10) and we had on-demand TV and movies. My mom across the hall had it, too. My sister on Deck 11 didn't have it. Guess they haven't finished the upgrade yet? Having kid's movies on demand was the greatest thing EVER for our kids!

My 5 year old son loved the kids club, 3 year old daughter hated it and they had to page us because she was crying too much. (She's a little clingy- so not surprised). Fine by me...she sang the ABC song at karaoke and that made the trip for me!

Received 105 survey emails. Glad it was all "junk", though I did fill one out.

I thought both pizza places were good. To each their own.

Staff certainly gave the smile and greeting but not a lot of heart behind it. We did have an awesome waitress in the main dining room during breakfast named Miriam. She was great, especially with the kids!

We all had a great time swimming, eating and spending time with family! I'd do it all again tomorrow...except maybe not eat so much!
