EDIT: My NCL app quit or crashed on my phone and when RE-opening, the verbiage did change to say only Haven guests.
More than frustrating, it’s like bait and switch. When I paid for my cruise it was advertised as in my screenshot below.
It is little things like this that will cost them repeat business.

@htnut - IMHO, onboard Cisco-driven hardware and server(s) can easily handled voice calling & text messaging within the ship's closed loop system of firewalled data traffic, i.e. sort of like the token-ring LAN days. The benchmark network speed I obtained was rather fast and don't see the need to route externally to the inTERnet, unless it is for external data traffic.
I share your opinion that the LAN should easily handle the traffic. Are you saying that your network speed test suggests that the text and data are all handled onboard and not subject to outages when the ship has no Internet access?
Another way to ask the question of you (or anyone reading this) is: Did anyone find periods of "outages" where the NCL app's text and calling feature was down? Or did it essentially work all the time during the whole cruise?

You setup & use your individual MyNcl account login to register & activate your device(s) to use the App, one at a time. 3 uses will be billed at $9.95 per user x 3 to your onboard account(s) It's not rocket science & pretty simple.
These screens are only displayed when connected to ship's WiFi inTRAnet onboard and no WiFi data or minutes are debited.
Thank you for posting the screen shots. Did you have the impression that calls and text messages were handled through the ship's local network only - or did it depend on the ship being in an area where it had active Internet service as well?

Yes there was a table. Room service was limited to the Continental breakfast unless you wanted to pay. Maybe that will change in the future.
Enjoy your trip.
Yours was the post I meant to quote when asking about the room service fee supposedly waived for “suite” guests.
Magicstacey, Which room did you have on the Concierge floor?

Priority boarding and disembarkation (jwe just left this morning and disembarkation was a breeze with concierge status. Definitely worth it) If you are heading to the Seattle airport I would definitely recommend just grabbing a taxi after you exit the ship. There are plenty of taxis waiting and you bypass the long line of passengers waiting to load luggage and board the buses the ship provides.
We had private breakfast and lunch dining in La Cucina. No lines or crowds. Wonderful.
No private bar or lounge though but there are SOOO many bars and lounges on board you have no trouble finding a lively or a quiet one depending on your preference. Bar service was plentiful and never an issue.
We also had our own concierge guy although we never used him.
I thought NCL waived room service delivery charges for all “suites”. Has anyone argued this?

Several people on different cruises posted on Facebook that iMessage on an iPhone worked when simply connected to a “free” WiFi service the ship has used for just booking reservations with the NCL app.
If this is true, I’m surprised it hasn’t been discussed here on CC.

They were the exact same menus every day. In addition, at breakfast they had a small self serve buffet set up with fresh fruit choices, yogurt parfaits, etc that you could help yourself to while they cooked your order and they would bring a variety of pastries in a basket to the table.
My family ordered the steak often. Said it was the best place to get steak on the ship. I finally listened and ordered the steak and eggs on the last day and wow the steak just melted in my mouth.
Thanks for posting these! Question: is the fresh squeezed juice included if you have the beverage package?

Someone posted a video of a CB cabin (14th floor, concierge penthouse suite) that mentioned they got two more free dinners at one of the "a la carte" restaurants - and also a free bag of laundry. Anyone else get this?

I have read that the regular NCL app will activate the ability to call and text onboard once connected to ship WiFi.
My question is, with an iPhone does the app properly notify you when a new message comes in? I’ve read some people have to open the app to check for messages that were received.
Thanks!

Once on board, go to the Internet Cafe and have them activate it. Parents \ Guardians may approve someone under 14 to use app but has to be done in person.
Perfect. Thank you!

Since we are talking about 13 year olds, please allow me to briefly hijack the thread with a side question:
Has anyone found a way for a 13 YO (or younger) to use the NCL app for on-ship text/calling (paying the $10/day charge)?
We can install the app on his phone, but if we try to enter his information and our reservation number it says users must be 14+ to use the app.
Thanks.

my experience on the Bliss is the convertible sofas are a hard futon, closer to a double than a queen
Good news, that's much more comfortable than a pull-out sleeper sofa.
My only outstanding question is, do the CB rooms have two twins that push together to form a larger bed?

My mistake, the murphy bed is in the HA category, not CB. CB just has a sofa bed.
Thanks. Do you know if the sofa bed pulls out and has a “spring” base or is it more like a futon?
Also do you know if it’s a queen or king bed, or two twins slid together?
-
I found this video of a CB. It doesn’t confirm the type of the “main” bed but the second bed appears to be a sofa - not a Murphy bed.
As Tim posted above, the balcony appears to be 1.5x standard where the CA seems to be 2x width.
-
Has anyone seen photos of a CB? I’ve read something that suggests the CB is two twin beds pushed together versus a Queen or King size bed.
CB may be better for 3 or 4 if indeed it has a full size Murphy bed.
Details about this would be nice.

Does anyone know for sure if The Joy is going to stop in San Francisco today. Right now it’s pretty far off the coast and one of the tracking apps show its destination is Seattle.
I called NCL this morning and was told it will be stopping in SF for a brief industry event but I suspect they are looking at outdated info.

Listed as 8:00 AM, I believe... but assume earlier.
Is there a reliable source if itinerary information someone can point me to?
I’m curious if and when Joy will be coming into San Francisco.

I'd like to see multiple photos or a video of the CB or CA cabins on the new concierge floor - including the balconies.

Not sure if this is the suite you are looking for but this was recently posted showing a concierge suite:
Anyone have a clue which room type this is? There are several different types on the concierge floor.

I'd also like to know how much they are charging for the Starbucks cold brew from the bicycle.
Thanks everyone for the photos!

Great! If you're not also posting the photos/walkthroughs here please post your Instagram accounts so we can follow you!
In addition to the intriguing "Concierge" rooms, I'm also curious to hear from anyone in a Haven suite - any noise from the decks above?
On the Joy...right now!

About the bed being a normal Queen size, I presume you got a CB (Penthouse suite). Isn’t it true that the extra bed is also not a Murphy bed but a sofa bed?
Do you mind sharing your room number?
