Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. For some reason the other topic is closed. We are on Iona departing 13 August, so after the current trial period ends. I have just received an email confirming that the following:- "All guests aged five years and over must take a COVID‑19 lateral flow/antigen test and receive a negative result within two days prior to embarkation of the ship. You’ll no longer need to provide a test certificate but will be asked to confirm the test has been taken, with a negative result, for you and each member of your travel party as part of your pre‑boarding health declaration at the cruise terminal." So it now seems that tests are required but evidence of a negative result isn't. I can imagine how many will just lie and say they have taken the test when they haven't but it seems a strange decision. Either make people test and provide the evidence or just drop it all together.
  2. I am on this cruise, I messaged P&O on twitter and was told that 13 & 14 August it is Joe McElderry and 15 - 19 August it is Matt Cardle.
  3. Blimey! Not the most helpful comment I have seen from Molecrochip on this site. The issue is that the restaurants are not open, P&O know they won't be open but let people believe that they will be able to book onboard, why else would they enquire? Iona is advertised as having a number of dining options and yet people aren't being told that a some of these will not be available for the whole cruise. Cruises are still available to book when P&O know those cruises won't have certain restaurants open, its just bad form. It is a simple matter of being honest with the people paying the fares. A lot of people book P&O with the specific intention of using these restaurants, we are one example. It would be helpful if P&O could given an indication as to when these restaurants will open. I am on the 13-20 August Iona cruise and I am now assuming I will have no access to these restaurants. For reasons unknown, P&O don't want to let me know if they will be available.
  4. There are 7 of us travelling on Iona in August across 3 bookings (although they are linked). When the speciality restaurants open for booking online, am I able to make a reservation for 7 even though my specific booking reference is only for 2 of us?
  5. We are sailing on G227 (13 Aug) and have just had the same email, perhaps it is being cancelled for the entire season?
