    Jolly beach vs Dickenson's bay

    I read yesterday about someone who experienced terrible sand fly bites at one of Antigua's beaches.

    Did you notice any sand flies?

     

    Were there clean bathrooms available?

    Those are sand fleas and they bite. I didn't see any at Jolly 2 weeks ago. They charge $2 to use restroom at the bar for a day.

    Davina sauna/steam room

    Hello,

    Can anyone tell me if Msc Davina, has a sauna or steam room that anyone can use, some ships have them for everyone to use, an some ships you have to be in yacht club, or similar , or you have to buy a spa pass to use at spa.

    Divina has both, but you'll have to pay extra to use them.

    It takes 2 hours to get there on regular fishing boat. The captain that I know, who takes tourist there leaves from main island around 6:45AM and comes back around 6PM. It's hard to catch him when cruise ship arrives around 7-8 in the morning.

    Questions about Mambo Beach

    How long does it take to get to Mambo beach from the port? We are looking for a pretty beach close to the port. I have read that the best beaches are not close by. We don't arrive till 2:00, so we don't plan to spend a lot of time at the beach because we want to be back on the ship by 5:00 to get ready for dinner.

     

    Mambo beach is man made and isn't pretty in my opinion. The closest beaches to port are Pirate Bay and Blue bay. Both are 10 minutes by cab $4 per person each way.

    Personal opinion but this is the worst tip! The food in the sports bar was thoroughly MEH. The sandwiches not good and the appetizer stuff just frozen fried food nothing special. An order of wings is 3 wings. And if someone decides to use the bowling you will lose your minds, so loud and annoying. The buffet day one is NOT that bad of a madhouse as some make it out to be, keep heading for the back of the ship, and on day one they have the largest selection of food and expensive meats and cheeses you may not see again during the cruise.

     

    I can appreciate that they made the sports bar free, but the menu got downgraded.

     

    Another tip, take advantage of the exterior staircases that go from deck 15 down to 7 all the way aft. You can drop from Garden Bar into the buffet in about 30 seconds via 3 different staircases. Also use the exterior promenade on deck 7 to get forward and aft; everyone walks inside that the Golden Jazz bar is pinch point.

     

    For fun order an iced tea at dinner. See how many different glasses they provide you during the week. We got everything from a giant mug/beer stein to wine glasses for the iced tea throughout the week, lol.[/

     

    Which soft drinks or juices are available at no extra charge at main dinning room for dinner?

    Crane Beach Alternative

    Hi, we are visiting barbados in a couple weeks and want to try something new. We always visit Crane Beach and love the beauty and tranquility but would like something similar with chairs and umbrellas, good food and turquoise water. We are not into the party scene. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Would you let me know how much was cab to Crane?

    Embarkation day on Divina - a couple of questions

    Go alllllll around the buffet it changes a lot and some stuff does not show up again after boarding day.

     

    If you have done a status match print out your pdf so you go to a priority check in line at the terminal.

     

    Credit card you can do first or second day. I’ve never been in a rush and never waited in line. I would prefer they do it in the terminal.

     

    For the drink tickets head to the casino any time after boarding. There will be staff there to give out tickets. Have a receipt or invoice w you for sure!

     

    Use the exterior promenade decks to bypass choke point in the Golden Jazz Lounge

     

    On one of the sea days there is an opera if that is your thing in the afternoon.

     

    First formal night there may be some free cocktails offered at the wine bar around 5pm....

     

    Is it possible to register CC during pre-cruise check in on line?

    Coki beach after hurricanes

    We were at Coki beach today for the first time. We came into Crown Bay on the Harmony. We didnt have anything planned ahead of time so we decide to try something different. We have been to Megan's bay many time so we decide to go to Secret Harbor. We took a shared taxi. We got to the road that leads fown to Secret harbor but was blocked due to power workers trying to fix the lines. We instead went to Coki. We saw a lot of damage on the way. Many homes, churches and boats destroyed. I was amazed that the island is so green again. So glad we ended up at Coki. Water was beautiful and so clear. Snorkeling was great. We saw tons of fish. Restrooms were available and clean.

    Food was also being sold from grills. No power here so dont try to get a frozen drink. It turned out to be a great day.

    How much was the cab to Coki ?
