Thanks for these pix! It looks larger than I thought. I hadn't looked online yet for actual photos of the room.

I ended up booking a suite because we like hanging out, lol. However, I will check out the costs of what you've all suggested.
Thanks!

I’m wondering if because I booked 17 months early that will give me less incentive offers?

Are you saying unused OBC from Princess will come back as cash?

Thanks, everyone! Will start making calls today.

Thank you - that’s very helpful. I don’t have a TA but I’ll start looking for one who specializes in cruises. Princess gave us $900 in on-board credit so that’s the price to beat.

I booked Alaskan cruise for 8/20 through Princess today. Is there any advantage to moving the reservation over to a TA? The Princess booker said he’d send me a form, it was easy to do & nothing would change.
Thank you.

I called & found out Pacific & Golden have the 1.5 bathrooms in Owner’s Suite. But Golden not in Alaska in summer 2020 & Pacific doesn’t have a date I can use. Next time!

Thanks! I will check that out!

I’m all set! Just booked an 11-Day Denali Explorer tour in a Coral Princess Premium Suite beginning 8/1/20. Very excited!

Fantastic! Thank you.

TY. I’ll check that board. No, I wasn’t aware of the Double Occupancy so that’s out! We are looking at a suite, larger than Mini Suite but I know there are choices there.

Hello,
We’ve never cruised. We are planning our 1st for Alaska in June or August 2020. We are a couple (50’s & 60’s) & our 16 yo DS (who will be 17 then). We do a lot of road trips & normally get Marriott room upgrades but DS prefers to sleep on the carpeted floor with blanket, pillows & his gaming stuff. Sometimes on the couch. Never pulls out the couch.
I think we will splurge for a suite but wonder about space. Think Pigpen from Charlie Brown! So I’m also wondering about adjoining rooms but (1) probably even more expensive & (2) I want us together on same balcony.
We are looking at Princess. It seems it would be the Pacific or Grand. They seem more worn down than Coral Princess which people seem to like.
Considering HAL but I really can’t abide smoke drifting onto our balcony which I heard happens even though they’ve tightened No Smoking rules.
Any suggestions on suite choices? Thank you!

Hello,I've been going through all the posts & they've helped me round down what I'm looking for so it's down to a few questions, for now. We are a family of 3 (parents are in 50's & 60's, teenage boy is 16). We will fly from Boston to Anchorage in August 2020 (we could go in June or July, also). Probably a 4-day land tour in Denali to see wildlife (I understand there's no guarantee!). Then cruise for 7 nights to Vancouver. I want to see Glacier Bay.I've seen that Princess & Holland are probably most recommended for us. Not being around smoke is imperative. I understand the new Holland policy and I see some have still experienced smoke drifting onto their balconies which would be really bad for us.I thought we'd spring for a large suite. However, I'm not sure it'll be large enough for us & a teenage mess (think Pigpen from Charlie Brown). When we travel domestically, we usually have a suite and he chooses to sleep in a corner on carpeted floor, more than the couch. He never wants to sleep on the pullout couch.I thought about connecting rooms, if there are such things, but I'd want us to share the balconies, not have separate ones. However, the idea of him having his own bathroom is great!I've read folks here prefer the Coral Princess but I see the land cruises are Grand or Pacific. The reviews seem to say the ships show their age.I'd appreciate any thoughts about cruise line and suite possibilities to accommodate our family. Or any other thoughts.Thank you!

I really really hope this will happen. He’s a great kid, kind, funny but shy. He’s not good at approaching other kids. But he falls into groups really well & kids like him.
I started the Roll Call for our cruise and maybe someone will have boys his age.
Lol on skipping dinner with us! That would be exactly what he’d want to do, too. So you eat your dinners with him & he takes care of himself otherwise?
We booked Alaska so I’ll want to share some glacier-gazing time with him & we have a few excursions. Unfortunately, we can’t do the more adventurous ones because I have vertigo issues.
It only takes one other kid he bonds with to make it so much more fun.
Thx!
