Because YOU called and YOU canceled under the policy in force at the time - "peace of mind" - that allowed for cancellation up to 48 hours in advance of the cruise and your refund was in the form of FCC.  Everyone that cancelled in the same way you did received the same offer, nothing slimy or unethical about that.  ONLY THOSE THAT ALLOWED THE LINE TO CANCEL get the offer of a cash refund.

@WinesAtSea same applies to you - you called and cancelled under the policy in force at the time you called, accepting the terms of that policy which only offered the FCC.

The big difference is WHO cancelled the cruise.  If YOU cancel, they're only obligated to offer the FCC.  If THEY cancel I believe they actually are required to offer a cash refund.

I'm sorry that you feel like you were slighted, but just because you can't get what you want does not make it slimy and unethical to do this.

I understand everything being said, my point is they should not have multiple policies.

Instructions for a cash refund were in the letter sent to people.... if they took time to read the letter.... See letter above.... nothing slimy or unethical

So why when I called them did they only offer a FCC and a full refund.  They should have a one size fits all and not several different policies.

    STILL SLIMY AND UNETHICAL.

  3. Norwegian does it again, i had a cruise on the Norwegian  Epic that was supposed to be out from April  4th until April 11th.  I would like to have gotten a full refund, but they say i fall/fell under their peice of mind policy, which means only FCC.  For cruises as of April 12th and on they are giving full refund.  What is wrong with an across the board policy.

I just logged in and got the same message, dated June 22, 2018.  Do they think we won’t notice the date?

I booked mine on Feb 3 2019, it was labeled as a 12 day cruise with  all the port stops.  So if they truly knew back in June 22 2018, then I should not have been able to book a 12 day 4 port cruise for full price.   THIS IS FRAUD!!!!!

I've just logged onto our account, and we only booked this on April 5, and there has been nothing there since we opened our account with them, but low and behold tonight there is an email dated April 5!!!!

I also checked NCL account and there is now a message that wasn't there before.  Mine is dated Feb 3 same as when I booked.   That message wasn't there yesterday.

There it is, the 50% but they are giving two years to use it.  Normal way for them to play it out.

That's not 50%it is only 25% because 25%  is only because of the shortened cruise which is basically my money anyway and going back to my credit card.  They need to up the 25% future cruise credit or drop the bad ports and put the good ports back on.( but we know that won't happen so up the 25% future ).credit
