  1. I see all these amazing photos of Coco Cay but not sure if sitting at the chairs, hammocks or the pool are free.

I know there is a cost for all the waterpark slides, etc.

Is there any snorkeling where you can swim to on your own?

Most of our group just wants to sit and dig in the sand : )

  2. Any suggestions...

We are planning to go on Harmony for my parent's 50th anniversary.

We have 2 adults with 3 kids.

My parents want a room for 2.

Realistically, price wise it is only $2700 for a central park balcony for 2. but when you get a cabin for 3 it becomes $4443 for an inside cheaper room or $5290 for 3 people in that same central park balcony. We tried looking at getting a cabin for 5 and it looks like 8K!  Even a studio cabin for 1 person is $2800 which makes no sense as it is cheaper to get a double cabin and use only half of it.

We are looking at next summer. Any suggestions?  Has anyone else had this issue?

  3. I am planning to book an Alaska cruise for July 2020 and wondering the pros and cons of booking directly with Princess vs. travel agent. It looks like $200 less per cabin with a travel agent and with 2 cabins that works out $400. I am wondering though if the price drops on the trip will a travel agent be able to get the new rate in the form on OBS like Princess might? We are timing it so it is the 3 offer so we should get free tips, $50 to $100 credit and also possibly a room upgrade but honestly not sure I want to move. We have 2 cabins right next door so any "upgrade" might separate us or put us not in mid ship and with Alaska that might be an issue.

  4. Thanks for the photos! My husband is sold on it : ) If we could see one calving like you showed he would be thrilled.

I'm going to now try to figure out how many days to spend in Anchorage and then Denali so I can book flights and cruise.

  5. I am planning an Alaska cruise for next July 2020 and it looks like Princess is the only one that goes to Glacier Bay. Is this a must do? Or are there similar ports that might be similar?

Definitely want to see the glaciers from the ship and not sure if that is the best.

  6. Am considering cruising on Freedom next April 2020. Would anything think that the cruise might get cancelled since the refurb gets pushed back or is that late enough and they tend to run on time anyway?

Also, is it likely to add water slides? I see what other ships are getting added that are getting done earlier but not clear of what is getting added to Freedom. We just sailed on Allure last April and my kids (ages 9 and 16) loved it sooo much! I just like the cruise ports of Freedom but am a bit worried about the ship choice.

    Any thoughts?

  7. Have sailed MANY cruise lines but never MSC and wondering if anyone can tell me what is extra and about how much?Is the Cirque show included? What abut water slides? Water (not bottled)? Car racing? The movies? Which restaurants are included?

I know drinks are not and some restaurants will not be.

  8. The ship docks at 7am, what is there to do in the early morning? What have you all done?

My plan is at some point visit Fort Charlotte, self guided walking tour, pirate museum, and John Watlings Distillery. Figure I need a few other things to do that are in the morning. Not visiting Atlantis this trip.

  9. My cruise disembarks on Easter day. We are sailing on Allure and wondering if anyone has any ideas if they might do anything special? If so. what?

Also, wondering if we want to carry our own luggage off and leave really early or try to hang out on the ship until the end of disembarkation. We are not flying home that day just transferring to a hotel. Wondering the pros/cons of each.

  10. I am going on a cruise in April and the reservations for shows are STILL not available. How will I find out when to book? Do they send you an email letting you know they are up? I'm frustrated because I didn't try booking any dinners until 90 days out, which is what my travel agent told me and my then the earliest reservations we could get was 7pm or later! My family is used to dinner at 5:30 so this is going to make for an unusual cruise and if we don't get shows, ugh!

  11. Wondering if anyone can comment on what is a great place to snorkel? I am visiting Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan and trying to figure out which place to snorkel and where to do it. Any thoughts? Going with a 9 year old and 15 year old so beginner levels but have done it several times before.

  12. Any guess which of the activities will be open on the first day? Wondering if we board on the earlier side if we will  be able to access it better.

Glad you haven't noticed an issue. I have been on cruises that had some special feature but since it was always full never did it!

I have a teen and will definitely look for teen exclusive times, that would be fun for her.

  13. I am wondering if anyone has any tips and info on how to get mini golf, rock wall, ice skating, surfing, etc? It sounds like with 5000 people on Allure of the Seas not sure if we are going to be able to do all the activities because they will also have such a long line! So far on our week long trip I only see 4 sessions of 50 peopke each for skating???? Do they add more later or truly only 200 people out of 500 get to ice skate?

Are any of these activities open the first day and maybe we should try then?

Any suggestions would be helpful, it is our first big ship experience.

  14. We have several days after our cruise to hang out and relax with my 16 year old and 9 year old in April whose #1 concern is lovely pools or beach location. Price range is flexible but want to stay at a place where we only get 1 room. Any suggestions?

While we are there, we are likely to go to the beach pool each day but also either lion country safari, the science museum and possible renting kayaks. Giving you all that info just FYI so you know we aren't at the beach the whole time and we may end up renting a car for the day.
