  1. My daughter got the NY strip in the MDR once or twice, it was OK, not a patch on Butchers cut. I also paid the $20 for the upgrade one, I cant remember which cut it was, I want to see T Bone but again it wasn't as good as Butchers Cut, not bad but not great.
  2. Thanks for the info, if it is Virtuosa you are on we are also on it.
  3. The cabin has two US, two European and I think two USB ports so being British you will need adaptors.
  4. Get to the port early, we were there about 10.30 ish and one of the first lot on the ship. Were in the buffet for 11.30 and it was dead, apparently its crazy busy on embarkation day but we missed it.
  5. As above, will be on MSC Virtuosa, I have seen something about a train that only takes 16 mins but not sure if it is easy to get to from the ship. Thanks
  6. Yeah as gizfish says if you purchase the package it is a set menu. On Seascape we purchased the two restaurant one, it entitled us to Butchers Cut and Teppanyaki. Teppanyaki I think was their midrange menu (there was the option to upgrade) and Butchers Cut was a 3 course menu, only steaks were 8oz filet and 14oz new york strip (which was really good), again in butchers cut you could upgrade and buy a more expensive steak for 50% of the al a carte price if on the package.
  7. Yeah we always used the Buffet, a few sea days we skipped breakfast and went for lunch early before the chaos.
  8. We never once made the MDR for breakfast in two weeks on Seascape unfortunately, from memory I think it was only open 7-8, something like that.
  9. Is the brunch a new thing? If not we missed that in February.
  10. No, on the confirmation it is just my number next to my name. I will email them, thanks.
  11. On the online portal it is only showing a shipboard credit for myself and not my wife, i daren't ring up MSC and query it in case they balls something up on the booking. Will I be able to rectify it once on board? Its only $50 so wont lose any sleep if not but might as well have it if we can.
  12. Totally agree with that comment, we had only sailed Royal prior to Sescape and was amazed by the amount of nationality's on Seascape.
  13. We spent two weeks on Seascape in February, had an amazing time. Buffet could get really busy at peak times, after a few days we just avoided the peak times, admittedly that wont work for everyone. Pool deck on seadays again got really busy but we managed with it. We found the main dining room food very good, one or two dishes in the whole two weeks were maybe average but certainly not bad. Portions weren't huge but again never left hungry. I saw reviews about miserable staff, never encountered any, odd time a barman could be a little abrupt but they were generally rushed off their feet so this is understandable. Ship itself is stunning inside and out, personally if you enjoyed Virtuosa I cant see you not liking Seascape, incidentally we are on Virtuosa out of Southampton end of June, our first time on her.
  14. I like the way we do it in the UK, the gratuities are included in the cruise fare. Saves any hassle or confusion .
  15. We are on Virtuosa end of June, so will be following along closely.
  16. Thanks for the advice, really looking forward to it.
  17. Thanks. Its Virtuosa in 6 weeks time, not that I'm counting.
  18. Don't ask me why but I am really looking forward to the snacks in the Top Sail Lounge. Am I right in saying they change throughout the day? What sort of things can I expect on there?
  19. We will be in YC for the first time in about 6 weeks, I was going to say I don't know how I would feel about pushing queues etc with the butler but then as Morpheus says its just like paying for fast pass in a theme park I guess, you have paid for an available service.
  20. Interesting that Morpheus, as a Brit when we holiday in the US I always find the whole tipping thing a bit stressful, who should I or shouldn't I tip, how much etc. I would say in the past I have always tipped Restaurant and Bar servers, hotel porters and taxi drivers, I'm always thankful when the bill comes and it has the suggested gratuities on, makes my life easier. Off topic a bit, but I do find the percentage of the bill thing a bit odd for the tip amount. For example say a party of 4 who have all had a steak and a couple of bottles of wine between them compared to a party of 4 who all had a happy hour bowl of pasta each and a coke. The steak table would be paying a much heftier tip for the same level of service.
  21. Oh I totally agree and no doubt in the future when there is more disposable we will be YC regulars 😀
  22. I'm a bit like yourself, we are a family of 4 (two daughters) who like to travel as mush as possible if we chose to do things like YC it would restrict the amount of things we would be able to do. That being said we have actually booked YC for the this June out of the UK for just me and the wife for our Anniversary, for comparison an inside Fantastica was £1350, YC inside was £2164 which we didn't think was too bad, but when we took into account the included Wifi and also the fact we wont do any specialty restaurants being in YC it seemed like a pretty good deal. I certainly wouldn't pay 2x, 3x the price for the experience.
  23. ABPMSC22 gives you 15% if sailing MSC.
  24. I believe it is only draught on the easy package and from memory Heineken was the only draught available on Seascape. Massive choice of bottles/cans on the Easy Plus package if you can upgrade.
  25. Our luggage tags were on the last pages of the boarding passes etc.
