What is the difference between those and the tv channel that shows the outside, other than it looks like a balcony you are looking thru?

Just the size and placement. Its a large screen on the wall so more of a balcony "feeling" than just on the tv. I think the views may be different between the tv channel and the virtual balcony but i may be wrong on that

Should I be concerned about my Oasis 5/23/21 cruise out of Bayonne?

its all so uncertain. i'm also concerned about my july 2021 oasis cruise. i had a sailing scheduled for jan that was just cancelled and am hesitant to use the FCC from this sailing towards the july oasis one. i'm not sure how they will go about refunding/fcc in the event my july sailing is cancelled. so stressful!

  3. does anyone know what they will do if there are no comparable sailings to lift/shift to?

we're on Jan 2 2021 sailing of grandeur for 7 nights from baltimore

the only sailings out of baltimore for Jan 2022 are 8 nights

i'm expecting our Jan 2021 sailing to be cancelled but if it isn't, i'm looking at options to either take FCC or just lift and shift

Was only for about 4 months, now they cut off some from front and back end of the 4 months.

hmmm.. interesting. i just looked up the prices for the sailings on Jewel out of galveston. they're pretty expensive. it follows the OP theory of trying to deter bookings on sailings they don't anticipate to happen. i cant wait to look back at this thread in a few months to see how it pans out.

  5. very interesting!

we are on the Grandeur Jan 2 2021 sailing. i'm curious to see if there is a staggered restart (i'd assume grandeur would not be a ship they would rush to get sailing again..) if they'll even bother with prepping grandeur since she is leaving the fleet in March? it seems to me it'd be almost a waste to prep the ship and get her sailing again just to leave the fleet in March... just my thoughts...

would love to be cruising in Jan but i'm not too hopeful.

  6. hello

did you have to call to get the discount? i am trying to book online but there isn't a promo code that is working for me

the pdf with FAQs says it is under the stateroom selection but i cant seem to find it. i have only seen a promo code spot at the end where the payment is. no promo code is working for me.

i work in an emergency department and worked all the way through the pandemic, i even got COVID from work. I would LOVE to take advantage of this deal.

I think for 7 nights they charge for 8 days.

Then there seems to be an extra 16% fudge factor there for I don't know what.  Isn't there fine print somewhere that explains it?

even if they did (which I am unsure if they charge for 7 or 8 ) it still only comes out to $368

Could you possibly have clicked on Deluxe Beverage Package + VOOM internet?

I thought that, too. But i double checked and it says only "deluxe beverage package" so it is not the one including voom

I added the one with voom separately and it comes up as "deluxe beverage package with voom" in the cart.

I thought the same thing haha.

  9. we did this sailing in early jan this year (jan 5-16). the first two days and the last two days you can expect to not be able to be outside comfortably. the good news is anthem has two indoor pools and plenty of other things to do instead of hanging by the pool. there are tons of fun options indoors and this ship really is perfect for weather that is less than ideal. sailing to the caribbean during winter from the northeast makes it that much better when you walk outside on the third morning and its beautiful and warm out. the 3 sea days home are really nice to unwind and relax after a few perfect days in the caribbean.

this sailing is WONDERFUL and i would do it again in a heartbeat. it is nice to be away for a long 12 days 🙂

    have a great time!

Drive the day before, spend the night, board at leisure so your first day would be more enjoyable.

thanks for your input! this is most likely going to be what we will do so i appreciate your tips! leaving from central connecticut so google maps shows about 4.5 hrs to port. a relative lives less than 20 minutes away from the port so if we don't get a hotel nearby we'll stay there

  11. hello!

looking for tips on leaving from baltimore on Grandeur OTS in Jan. we've only ever gone out of bayonne so looking for any advice leaving from baltimore. will be driving in the morning of. i know parking is $15/day so i'm wondering how easy it is to park at the terminal. bayonne is super easy and quick if you get there early. we have the option to park at a relative's house and have them drop us off but i'm unsure what our best option would be. any advice is helpful! 🙂
