When selecting the MedallionNet option you should see this option to purchase it at a 50% discount.

Aren't most Wifi packages free right now? We are platinum, but got the Wifi, Drinks and Tips "free". I wondering why people are worried about paying for internet...

That was a massive perk to us. We see the people hanging out in the photo hallway or the casino waiting to disembark. It was great to be able to go to a nice lounge and sit with coffee, juice, etc. I used to take the small bottles of bubbly and use the provided OJ to make Mimosas while waiting to disembark. We also used to take advantage of the discounted drinks at the P/E/S lounge in the evenings. With Princess Plus that is no longer something we care about. We have, on occasion, used the munchies at the P/E/S lounge in place of dinner.

Just making sure...that Platinum can go to the "Elite Lounge". Looks like the Princess Patter puts "Elite Lounge" not the full P\E\S.

We had CC mini for the first time in January on the Regal.  We were traveling with 4 couples total.  We loved being able to walk up at anytime we wanted and getting seated immediately.   With a group dining is difficult and we had a table that was basically assigned to us with the same waiters for the whole trip.

As far as the extra meals, I think in our group someone ordered the special every day and they were for the most part much better than the regular meals.

We have CC again in July on the Grand and will see how it is. I don't think for us especially if traveling alone or with just one other couple that CC would totally be worth the extra $$$,  The 1/2 bottles of wine were just okay and the room location while nice definitely isn't a game changer for us since most mini suites are in a good location.

    Hope this helps

Does CC mean walk ups to specialty dining also? If we decide we want crown grille one night can we just walk up?

  4. The new Wine List appears to have fewer than a half dozen of the wines from the old Wine List so you will probably need to find a new favorite. One nice addition is the inclusion of the vintage. For those of you who win big at the Casino, you can order a 2009 Dom Perignon for $199 or if you prefer reds, a 2014 Amuse Bouche for $279, a 2014 Opus One for $289, a 2014 Chateau Clinet for $299, a 2014 Ao Yun Shangri-La Cabernet Sauvignon for $399, a 2014 Masseto for $629, a 2014 Penfolds Grange for $989, a 2011/2012 Chateau Lafite Rothschild for $1,600, or a 2010 Chateau Petrus for only $5,288.

Here is a summary of the new list:

    Sparkling Wines & Champagnes - 10

Light and Mild - White Varieties - 7

    Crisp & Tangy - White Varieties - 6

    Refreshing - Sauvignon Blancs - 7

    Fruity & Vibrant - White Varieties - 8

    Rich & Textured - Chardonnays - 17

    Rose Wines - 3

    Soft & Mild - Pinot Noirs - 11

    Spicy & Layered - Spanish Varieties - 4

    Spicy & Layered - Italian Varieties - 10

    Complex & Aromatic - Shiraz & GSMs - 9

    Lush & Perfumed - Merlot & Bordeaux Blends - 8

    Aristocratic & Elegant - Bordeaux Wines - 6

We had Chateau Lafite Rothschild on our Disney Cruise for our Annversary...and we shared with the Som

  5. I think there are some serious problems with this idea. If you order a Crown Grill filet when dining in the main dining room, will that steak really be prepared in the Crown Grill kitchen? If so, how hot will it be by the time it arrives at your main dining room table? Also, what about the timing required so everyone at your table receives their main courses at the same time when those courses come from two different kitchens located on two different decks.

Agreed, logistics not well thought out

  6. Oh yeah. We were on a B2B (43 days) and his tables were next to our table.

When we walked in for dinner ... he would literally run over & pull out my chair, offer us water, smile, smile, smile for about 40 days. It was fun. ;)

LOL, a bit of stinker you are

  7. This might only be me, but I ask for menu substitutions in moderation. I do often ask for gravy or sauce on the side because too much or the wrong taste can ruin a meal for me. This has always been done with a smile, by the way. But other things, such as a little more broccoli, I stay away from. I do believe the meals are produced in assembly line fashion and it is extra work to make changes. So if something is not likely to ruin my meal, I leave it as is.

or better yet...ask for two plates of the meal :) I believe in gaining 10 lbs each cruise

  8. In addition to the map of the cruise, mine has the insignia and signatures of all officers, history of the ship and the itinerary with distance traveled, average speed, date and time in each port. I have never figured out how to insert a photo. Email me at KevintheIrishDJ@msn.com and i will reply with photos.

The question I have is....do u have any of the coupon books:D

  9. Several years ago, there was an auction for a TA cruise on the Pacific Princess. I have never see this in all my years sailing; and have never seen it since. We won the auction!!! :D

Has anyone else ever seen this done?

We have 3 from princess and 1 from Disney.

  10. What I'm saying is the price of tips for UK cruisers has gone exponentially north as the UK £ continues to crumble against the USD and other currencies.

When we first cruised Princess 14 years ago from memory we paid $11.50 pppd autograts. Rates then were around the $1.94 = £1 UK pound so a 14 night cruise cost us around £160 in tips which we were happy to pay.

As our useless apology for a Government gropes around in the dark the £ has dropped to $1.26 and will go down further on a "no deal" Brexit so for the same 14 night cruise, although the tips rate has increased by a couple of dollars a night our overall tip bill due to the falling pound has almost doubled.

We certainly won't be paying over £300 tips for a 14 night cruise, what others choose to do is up to them.

Man, I remember when we went to England in late 80s....it was almost $3 to 1 pound! Amazing how times change

  11. That's funny ... I just posted on another thread about having recently finished reading Cruise Confidential. He does not even touch on tips, amounts, how their pooled or dispersed. Only that they (the workers) are motivated by money, they endure because of the money.

I guess we ALL endure for the $ so we can go on lovely cruises and retire.
