As Doug said, the cruise has been great so far. Excellent weather, excellent fellow passengers, excellent crew as usual. We had a blast exploring Valencia on Segways. Cartagena was lovely and it was nice being among some other veterans on that day. (And Stumblefoot, we look forward to Col. Wes joining us in Funchal. We have Navy people aboard to help keep him afloat in the pool, and Doug indicated that there is a submariner aboard, so that will help if Wes sinks.:)) A beautiful warm day in Malaga, topped off by Doug and Lynn's wonderful suite party. The Hot Rocks dinner was really good, and for once I managed to cook my filet and prawns just the way I like them. Today the Gibralter weather was again sunshine, and we enjoyed exploring "The Rock" and getting acquainted with the monkeys. Look forward to the first sea day tomorrow!

My wife and I are booked on the December 7 eastern and northern island cruise. We are also on the per-cruise Machu Pichu excursion arriving one day earlier in Lima to acclimate. We are also curious about other cruisers experiences when Silverseas takes over. Our expectation are high having been on multiple other Silverseas trips.
Lima is at sea level, so that won't help acclimate. After a short flight you will be in Cuzco at about 11,000 feet. I recommend that you consider taking acetazolamide (Diamox) to help ward off altitude sickness. Check with your doctor to make sure that you have no contraindications, such as sulfa drug allergy. This worked very well for us doing a SS Machu Picchu excursion in 2004.
Regarding rainy season, we had some rain in March 2004, but it was still great fun. Please search for the thread "Machu Pichu Help ??" in this forum for a couple of photos in the rain.

Wes, I was told by our SS agent that the 10% on converting open bookings to specific bookings ends today. I don't know how long the on board 10% for specific voyages will last.

Terry, you will love Kotor. Beautiful old town and lovely area and setting. We stopped there last year on the Spirit. You will have wonderful photo ops.
By the way, I think that we will be in your old suite, 532, on the Cloud July 5-20. Anything we should know?
Go Tribe and Browns.

Great to see caviar displayed again! Haven't seen that in the last couple of years. Am enjoying your wonderful photos and descriptions, Terry, but how do you find the time? You certainly win the prize for providing the very best vicarious cruise!

Quick correction: The great Segway rides were in Cartagena. These beautiful cities get confusing.
