  1. I get that, and im not overly worried personally, however.... it sounds like it has become lawless over their and with 1000's of prisoners escaping and gangs running the show, surely it would be ignorant to think things could not effect somewhere in the same country just because there are walls and guards. Dont get me wrong I am far from knowledgable in this... but after seeing some of the most advanced places breaking into wars etc, my perception of safe and stable areas has changed.
  2. my wife just messaged me worrying about this, we are in labadee in a months time. I am sure RC will only go to port and only honour excursions if they are deemed as safe. I personally wouldn't want to be a guinea pig and go there in the next few days however whilst they are monitoring and making that call.
  3. Ok, all did not quite go to plan. Yesterday i did a boat trip in st Thomas after these posts... needless to say, i sampled a lot of rum... by the time i got to casino i was already quite tipsy. I tried a good variety of the drink selections thank you. Lost a lot of money. Im starting to wonder if these is a link between them giving me free drinks and me losing lots of money 🤔🤣. I got back to stateroom at 3am and was woken up by the better half at 7am because we had another boat trip in st kitts... needless to say, they fed me a good bit of rum punch again! So am currently tipsy again, very burnt and confident it would be a good idea to avoid the casino tonight... but will continue my quest for the next 2 sea days and will post some drinks ratings later in the cruise, thanks again all x
  4. Thank you all .. some great suggestions here 😀 I will be back later with some feedback of the ones you suggested... unless i am a little too drunk then i will be back when i recover tomorrow 🤣😍
  5. Thank you, these are from the casino bar specifically that we get free drinks with. But i will certainly call upon the bartender to see if they have any ideas too 🙂
  6. Hi all. Bit of a different question here... I qualify for free drinks in the casino on RC (am on Harmony now). I usually just have the same boring drinks i am used to from home. Dissarano and coke, jack and coke or gentlemen jack and coke. I want to make most of it being free and try some unusual, or expensive.... or highly recommended drinks. Any suggestions? Thank you
  7. I appreciate that, but just thought it was worth notifying people as a 2 minute check may save them some money
  8. Hi all, Just went in to my cruise planner and I see the Thrill Waterpark price has dropped since I booked it... this isn't money off %, the price before discount has dropped so I just saved myself $40, so thought I would come here and let you guys know incase you have also booked it and can save. Just to reiterate, the original price has dropped NOT the % off... so it will not stand out unless you go and look at the price you paid and what you now can get it for. Saved me around $40 in total
  9. Thanks all... think this eliminates it being worth the upgrade.
  10. Was looking at royal up and the Junior suite is reasonable price compared to any other suite. I wouldn't normally consider the JS because if I upgrade it is more for perks than the bigger room. However, its too much more for any other suite and not much more to bid on junior suite that I might be able to get value out of just the 1 perk, but I have a couple of questions please. 1st, I know you can get just dinner at coastal kitchen if available. So if when I 1st got on the ship, I went up and asked if I can reserve a table for 6pm each day for example, would this likely be agreed? or will I need to check every day if they have availability and sometimes get turned away? 2nd, when I was on symphony which is the same class, the suite lounge is attached, so drinks where included in with Coastal Kitchen. Is this the same for junior suite guests? 3rd, I haven't seen that suite lounge is included so does this mean we cannot go in suite lounge part, even if we have just finished our meal and wanted to chill with a drink for half hour? I guess what I am trying to work out is if I can with preplanning, make perfect use of Coastal Kitchen at dinner time no different than If I was in a suite and make the most of drinks through that time so I could save on a package. Thank you! Harmony of the seas in August from Miami
  11. U may joke... but I think someone from RC is spying and has blocked me buying anything new at the moment 🤣 All of the reserve buttons are now greyed out... I got my eye on you 🤣
  12. Historically, I would book stuff as I see them (excursions, internet, drinks packages etc), then cancel and rebook if they go on a better sale. My cruises are usually booked direct with USA site. This time, I am booked through the UK site, so prices will show for example £41.56 instead of $50. I booked all the bits I wanted when there was a sale last time, another sale has started today and although it looks like non of the things I booked have got a bigger discount then before, a lot of them are £1-£3 cheaper now because of the exchange rate. It probably works out about £12 total cheaper now than it was when I originally booked them. First, I dont know if its immoral for me to request a refund for them all just to rebook with a better rate? Also is there anything that I am missing? will I be able to just request refund at the old prices and rebook with the slightly cheaper prices? Im not sure why I am hesitating, but hoping that someone else experienced this and confirms there is no problems with doing it?
  13. Thank you. That was an anti climax 🤣 in that case, anyone have any genius ideas how we could get round it? lol
  14. This is a complicated one. I usually get comped rooms from the casino, I go with my wife and son. We usually stay in an ocean view balcony. So we only pay around $400 total because I have spent a chunk in casino on previous cruises so they want me back hoping I donate enough for the room plus more. This time I am looking at a poker cruise, so its still a normal RC cruise but a poker team work as travel agents and there is a poker area exclusive to those who booked through the pokercruise people. You MUST book through them to be able to play in there poker room. If I book through them though its going to cost $4600 for the same cruise I could get for $400. So it isn't worth it. Their cut is only $150 per head which I offered them but thats apparently against the rules. So I am wondering if I could book with them a really cheap room with just me (or sharing with someone they find to make it cheaper), so I can use the poker room... but then I also get a comped balcony with my family. So the question is, can I be booked in 2 rooms on RC?
  15. No, to confirm, never had issues. There is no time where it is ever referenced again, at all. The one and only issue I have ever come across is, if you need to make amendment etc prior to boarding or have questions to do with your booking... you will have to ring USA number as the UK team will say they can't access it as its a US booking. However, it is quite simple to ring the US, they are so so helpful on the phone and it doesn't cost extra to ring the USA on my EE phone contract, just uses normal minutes so prob the same for some other networks as well.
  16. Hi, we are in port tomorrow in victoria bc. What would be a good way to have a chance to see wildlife like bears in the wild? We have seen multiple whales so that isnt what we are looking for. Just would like the chance to encounter a bear or moose or something. I am aware of risks involved and aware best things to do if i do see them Thank you
  17. Thank you. Im a bit gutted, i planned believing it will be same as symphony of the seas... so thought id prioritise the coastal kitchen, bag some free drinks and save on a drinks package... which made up for a chunk of the extra i paid for the upgrade. The other main saving was free internet which after 3 hrs on the ship hasnt been too good, having to turn it off and use normal data while in port just to get things loading. Not a good start 😕
  18. I just found out suites lounge is on end of deck 12, coastal kitchen is seperate on deck 14. Does this mean drinks are not included in coastal kitchen like they are on most ships? As on most ships they are joined together
  19. im from the UK, I kept them from my last trip but once I have done this trip i have quite a few other things to tick off before I would think about having another Canada or Alaska trip. Thank you 🙂 I will try these, we are in port on a Thursday and havent booked any excursions so will have time to try locate these. Thanks for the recommendations x
  20. We are on an Alaskan cruise next month starting in seattle. We have around $1500 CAD left over from a previous trip which started in BC. I was wondering what is the best way to change these into USD? We will use a little on the Vancouver Port that we stop off at but im sure I will still have $1300+ by the end of that stop off. What is the easier and best way of exchanging it without losing a load by changing it on the ship for example? is there a place near port that I could use in Canada for example? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
  21. love this, I think the experience will outweigh the inconvenience of the hustle and bustle. What a great way to make the most of our time in Seattle 🙂 Thanks all for your input
