  1. The process could be different for different ports/ships. I am sailing on the Gem from Miami and testing at the port is done by CVS Minute Clinic. At 21 days you may complete your NCL cruise check-in process online, which includes selecting your check-in time, registering online with CVS for the testing (through a specialized link), and watching the safety video.

I'm booked as a solo on the Gem in later this month. I booked that about a month ago. I got a fairly decent inside (free at sea) cabin on deck 11.   I then bid $250 (fair bid) (but remember I have to pay double, so in reality $500.    I happened to see that the price for family balcony cabins were slashed in half.  I called yesterday to see about repricing me in one of those cabins.   I paid an additional $419 and have a confirmed (i was able to choose any family cabin, mid, aft or forward).   The rep was extremely patient encouraging me to pull the deck plan up and choose my own location.  I kept all the discounts and past cruise extra points when I initially booked.   So no need to bid  now.

I did exactly the same thing. I ended up paying for an upgrade rather than bidding. You get the exact room you want, and it cost about the same as the lowest bid for an upgrade.

Success!  So, learning. Make sure you use your last statement (even if it is months old) rather than a printout of your holdings TODAY. Also, the name of the holding company (Fidelity, Vanguard, etc) must be on the statement.

On my last statement, I did not own NCL. I bought in August, and sent in a copy of my trade transaction. It was accepted. So there is another alternative.

Doubtful.   I believe Ocean Blue's earlier menus had Lobster without up-charge.

We were on a back to back on the Bliss October 2019, and there was no upcharge for lobster. We ate in Ocean Blue 4 times.

  5. We are booked back to back on the Bliss (12/5 and 12/12). We did the same (back to back on the Bliss) in October 2019. It was our last cruise before the pandemic, and hopefully it will be our first post-pandemic cruise.

We enjoyed everything about the Bliss, but Ocean Blue was the best dinner place for us. But honestly it is all good! And it will be great to get back to cruising!

  6. It is normal that people just post the negative. I was waiting for the actual air booking on my account. The routing changed 3 times before I was finally booked. I am happy with the arrangements and it saved me probably $400 versus what I would have had to pay. If I booked my own I might have had better flights, but what I received was fine. I think you just have to be prepared for the worse, and hopefully get pleasantly surprised.

  7. They will send you an email with air confirmation information. It will include flight details and the record locator number for the airline. Until then the flight information is just a placeholder until booked and can very likely change.

It appears we will have the same experience which may make this my last NCL cruise. I called the service line and they tell me not to worry about the flight times until they are booked. And then of course once they are booked, you are stuck. Not a very good system. For people with limited vacation, how can they justify getting you back home a day after you disembark? (From flight schedules it looks like I am getting home at about 9:30 am the next day - LAX returning to the midwest).

My flights are booked, and it is not terrible. Yes, there are probably better flights, but I have no complaints with this Reduced Air promotion for my cruise. I am leaving LAX about 2 pm, and arriving late (but same day) at my home airport with only 1 layover.

So you are on the Pacific Coastal Vancouver to LA and then doing a Mexican Rivera back to LA.

In LA you will have to get off the ship as it is a US port where the ship must be zeroed out.

My last B2B was Boston to Quebec and then Quebec back to Boston  - our key cards were all set for both weeks, we had the same cabin etc.

You will probably know more when you board in Vancouver - take a look at when your card key expires - that will be a clue if you need to go all the way back to check-in for the second cruise- which you might have to do.

Actually we booked back to back with both weeks on the southern route. We were not lucky enough to get the same cabin on the two legs.  So we will have to pack and move.

Called this morning to inquire about a change to return flight as one listed wouldn't get us home until after 1 a.m..  NCL said they had already ticketed and they would not make any changes and that it was under the control of the two airlines.

Most likely we'll be stuck with the return flight for which NCL paid $66 each for and that departs 11 hours after debarkation and gets us home around 1 a.m.
