  1. Turks and Caicos is dropping their vaccine mandate on 4/1. The US has not announced when or if they are going to drop their vaccine requirement so your argument was incorrect.
  2. I was asking about the terminal. I was just surprised that they didn’t ask you at the terminal but they did ask me during online check-in.
  3. Interesting. When I was completing my online check-in it asked me if I was vaccinated.
  4. 3rdGenCunarder though that the kiosk didn’t work for him because he didn’t use VeriFLY. I just want to be able to speed through check-in as fast as I can. If completing VeriFLY helps speed up the process I will do it. I will be curious to know if HAL stops asking people if they are vaccinated at the port. I know one of my friends went on a Caribbean cruise last month that had no requirements but they we’re still asked if they were vaccinated at the port.
  5. Thanks for the information.
  6. I was able to add my June cruise to VeriFLY even though there are no protocols. All I had to do was take a picture and the pass was available. It said I could upload proof of vaccination but it was greyed out. I don’t really know if having the pass will speed things up or not. I’m just surprised that I could load my cruise on VeriFLY. There has to be a reason why I could do it even though I really didn’t provide any information.
  7. I have not sailed HAL since they implemented the facial recognition at check-in. Do you now go through security and then get in line for the facial recognition kiosk? Then would just board after that? It seems like no one checks your passport at check-in, correct?
  8. I am going on the Nieuw Amsterdam in June. Holland America released the protocols for my cruise and I don’t have any testing/vaccination requirements. When I try to add the cruise in VeriFLY it will not let me. It seems like they have stopped adding all cruises to VeriFLY. Just letting people know that are debating on using VeriFLY.
  9. Or maybe they think by requiring the vaccine there is less chance that someone that is unvaccinated will end up in their hospitals. No other country in the Caribbean is requiring vaccinations. Unless you know someone that works for the Government of Turks and Caicos we will never truly know the reason. I will say that if the requirement is dropped by the end of March I don’t think keeping the requirement had to do with US policy because the US requirement is supposed to end in May. There would be no way for the Government of Turks and Caicos to know if the US will continue the policy past May. Your original post seemed to indicate that the US was requiring vaccination and not the Government of Turks and Caicos so I was correcting what I thought was misinformation.
  10. What I am saying is that the Government of Turks and Caicos is requiring vaccination not the US government. The Government of Turks and Caicos can implement whatever requirement it wants.
  11. You do realize that the requirement to be vaccinated to get off the ship in Grand Turk is a requirement of the Government Turks and Caicos and has nothing to do with Biden or US Policy? In theory the requirement will be dropped the end of March. https://www.visittci.com/travel-info/turks-and-caicos-coronavirus-covid-19
  12. For some reason Holland America doesn’t list on their website that Grand Turk requires vaccination to get off the ship. All the other cruise lines list it as a requirement. Yes, you can board the ship if you aren’t vaccinated but you can’t get off in Grand Turk. Were you asked if you were vaccinated or did you show proof of vaccination when you checked in? People that have sailed on Carnival that went to GT were just asked about their vaccination status but no one asked for proof. If you aren’t going to ask for proof it seems stupid to have the requirement. https://www.visittci.com/travel-info/turks-and-caicos-coronavirus-covid-19
  13. It sounds like you are on a Enhanced Voyage so they are requiring testing/vaccination because of the length of the voyage. I know Princess recently dropped all testing/vaccination requirements unless the country requires it. I would think Holland America will soon follow.
  14. Grand Turk requires everyone 18 and older to be vaccinated in order to get off the ship at Grand Turk.
  15. The Bahamas no longer has any requirements. You can look up the protocols for your cruise here:https://book2.hollandamerica.com/protocols/ The VeriFLY app will cover two people.
  16. Does your cruise have any testing or vaccination requirements?
  17. What would you upload to VeriFLY if your cruise has no requirements? It seems like VeriFLY is obsolete now.
  18. Australia views cruises as a higher risk activity so that is why they require testing. Other countries have had different entry requirements for cruising and flying in so it is not unreasonable to think that Australia has different requirements depending on the form of transportation. Every cruise line has testing requirements on their websites for Australian cruises. Do you really think that every cruise line is requiring testing when they don’t have to? This website talks about requiring testing/vaccinations for Australian cruises https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel/cruising-rules/cruise-factsheet
  19. Australia still requires testing for cruises. At this point, Princess is doing whatever the country they are visiting tells them to do. https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022-07/18_July_Eastern_Seaboard_Cruise_Protocols.pdf
  20. Thanks for the information. I don’t understand why they are still asking if you are vaccinated if it isn’t required. How does knowing your vaccination status help the cruise line?
  21. Did you go to Grand Turk? If you didn’t, did they even ask if you were vaccinated? Did you fill out any questionnaires online that asked your vaccination status? They used to ask your vaccination status online.
  22. That surprises me especially since there is nothing on their website that says masks are required. I feel bad for the employees that have enforce the mask mandate.
  23. What hotel made you wear a mask in public areas? Most businesses don’t care anymore.
  24. Before dropping all protocols, they would ask for your vaccination card at check-in. Now what you are saying is that they just ask you online if you are vaccinated. Am I correct? It makes no sense to just ask someone online if they are vaccinated because they could lie about it. I’m surprised that Grand Turk is ok with Carnival not asking for proof of vaccination.
  25. So when you checked in for the cruise did they ask for your vaccination cards?
