Butt a Stump? I became elite on my last cruise and have cruised in suites several times but have never used that line. I can wait in line like everyone else.
Best perks are the free mini bar and laundry!
I'm sorry, but I don't understand this statement. You take advantage of some of your Elite perks but not others? If you can "wait in line like everyone else," why are you not in the laundry room like everyone else?
I was a first-time Elite on our recent Regal Transatlantic. I took advantage of the Elite perks because, well, I was eligible. Not because I was better than anyone else.

Please note that this thread is over seven years old.

I'm impressed, Frank. You now will be the go-to person on the Princess CC board when we want an official answer. Thanks for getting this clarified!

We are SO going to miss the Avocado and Bay Shrimp appetizer! That's the reason we cruise! ;p Okay, not, but we DID always look forward to it!

I have found that it's too cold to be out on the balcony at the months Princess offers this itinerary.
May 4th through the 11th? Those are the 2019 sailing dates of the cruise TheRabbit mentioned above. I'm hoping for mostly nice weather.

And I'm one of those who'd tell you this is a great cruise. I'd choose the Mexican Riviera over a Caribbean cruise any time. But then we are not into snorkeling (the water on the MR is not suitable) nor are we really beach people. Last January, we did the 10-day itinerary and loved it. As several have said, the first and last days are coolish, but since we're also not pool people, that didn't bother us.
We did whale watching in Cabo, and it was fantastic at that time of year. In PV, we took a taxi, with friends, to a restaurant I had read about on CC called Pipi's. It was excellent for Mexican food and margaritas! Then we walked over the swinging bridge to the crafts and souvenir vendors, finishing up with a long walk down the malecon. Beautiful!
We are doing the 7-day itinerary on the Royal Princess at the end of April and really looking forward to it as well.

Never once on ANY ship/line have staff ever asked us to write our cabin number on the envelope.
They've never asked ME to write our cabin number on the envelope, but they've asked for our cabin number and then THEY have written the number on the envelope. If I remember, I just write it there before I'm asked!

Definitely do the Ultimate Balcony Dinner! You won't be disappointed. My husband and I are doing one to celebrate our 50th anniversary on our TA in September while at the Cork/Cobh, Ireland port. This will be our third UBD!

Okay mr rabbit , I am getting concerned that you will be out of wine by the time we cruise with you ! What is a CA coastal with too little wine ? :)
Good point, Sara! :D

The pictures are very helpful--and not squished at all! Thank you.

Anyone ever had an Uber pickup at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (for transport to accommodations in Manhattan)? I'm wondering how they arrange a spot for pickup. It's a bit different from a fixed airport pickup spot or street address pickup.
Thanks for your help. Any tips for using Uber at the Brooklyn Terminal will be appreciated!

THIS is funny! ;p

We just had a flight schedule change for our flights to Copenhagen for September. I didn't like the new schedule given us (wanted a longer layover time, for comfort), so I called Princess and selected a different one. Cost $10 more than the "free" change, but it was certainly worth it to get the routing/schedule we want.

My husband will be "fit to be tied" if TV coverage is that poor on the return Transatlantic on the Regal in September. :(

I very much enjoyed your review. I cannot believe Princess tried to serve your 11-year-old daughter an alcoholic drink! How appalling.
I remember you well from a Seattle to Vancouver Roll Call for September 30th last year. You helped me so much with my post-cruise plans in Vancouver. Thanks again.

Looks like you are on the Regal Princess Transatlantic for September 8th. Come join our Roll Call.

I am so excited. These new menus look fabulous. Thanks, Stikman, for the photos.

I agree with Paul for all the same reasons. It's a lovely walk.

Has anyone figured this out? I like to check my prices daily, and I'm still getting the "pricing is currently not available" message. I tried to call Princess and ask "what's up," and you can guess how successful that was. We're on the Regal TA of September 8, 2018.

We can fly on miles....
Many cruisers can find better deals and maintain some control over their trip by arranging their own flights.
So, Princess' next big sale is, well, free gratuities.
Wow, how generous.... I had better call right away.
YAWN !!!!
Perhaps you have not checked EZAir in quite some time because you CAN "maintain some control" . . in fact, much more so than by booking direct. We are doing a Transatlantic in September, and I have already changed my air several times--no charge, no penalty, nothing negative. And our fares are wonderful. I'm glad you can fly on miles, but EZAir is a great alternative for those of us who don't. I'm not saying this is a great sale, but I AM saying I love EZAir.

I look forward to your next installment. Your writing style is fun. :)

Oh, I totally understand your reluctance to talk to your Travel Agent. It's a looking-a-gift-horse-in-the-mouth thing. It feels rude. I'd opt to talk to someone onboard about swapping for the OBC.

My parents will be cruising with us this time - it's their first cruise ever. I'd like to recommend a venue or two to them with more of an oldies kind of music and maybe some slow dancing. They are in the late 60s.
What would you recommend?
Why does that not sound "older" to me? :loudcry: :loudcry:
Royal princess mini suite question

For the recent Transatlantic of the Regal (sister ship to the Royal), we were in minisuite A414 and absolutely loved it. The location midship (right next to a Club Class cabin) was wonderful, and the balcony was angled and quite large. (Of course, the crossing was cold so as luck would have it, we were unable to enjoy that spacious balcony!)
I would book this cabin again without hesitation.
