  1. We have a cruise planned for Nov. 5 which is coming up fast. This is a Western Caribbean cruise departing out of Port Canaveral on the Oasis, visiting Labadee; Falmouth, Jamaica; Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico. Just realized that one of our Passports expires March 7, 2017 which is less than 6 months from our cruise date. I know that often cruise lines and countries generally want Passports to be valid as least 6 months from travel date. Wondering if this is going to be a problem for us as I am not sure we can get a renewed Passport in time. I've check out the US Passport application website and it states an expedited Passport can be done in 2-3 weeks, but I am skeptical, and would definitely be a problem if it took longer. as we have just under 4 weeks until we depart. Any advice, suggestions? Thanks!

It is a closed loop cruise.....you will have no problem.:)

  2. We have been on 36 cruises as of yet have never purchased cruise insurance.I figure if I lost out on price of one in 10 cruises we would be even. So if we did lose out on cost of a cruise in the long run we would be ok.

Hey, Lonnie.......good to see you on here. We became true believers in Travel Insurance when we retired and found Medicare didn't cover us outside the States. Di found us an annual policy.

  3. Maybe I'm just a relaxed, laid back person that is happy to be on the right side of the grass and that's why i don't get the constant complaining some of my fellow cruisers do.

People need to enjoy things a little more, life is short no need to keep a stick up your butt. Now legitimate issues yes complain, but some of you go waaaayyyyy to far!

    Hurricane Matthew Weather Update

    October 4, 2016

    6:00p.m. (EST)

Royal Caribbean International continues to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew. Due to the storm, PortMiami is planning to close to all marine traffic on Thursday and reopen on Friday. Because of this, Empress of the Seas next sailing will now depart on Friday, October 7, 2016. Boarding on Friday will take place as soon as we receive notification from PortMiami authorities. To compensate for the missed day, Royal Caribbean will provide each stateroom with an onboard credit in the amount of one day based on the cruise fare paid, which will be credited to guests' onboard accounts. As a gesture of goodwill, we will also be providing all sailing guests with a 25% future cruise credit. We encourage guests sailing on Empress of the Seas to monitor this website tomorrow for any additional updates.

If you have not done so already, we strongly suggest guests complete their online check-in as soon as possible, including the section requesting your preferred method of contact while traveling. You can access online check-in at www.royalcaribbean.com/onlinecheckin.

Royal Caribbean International will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as soon as they become available.

  5. My husband and I are thinking about doing a cruise in late Jan/Feb out of San Juan. We have been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan (as a port of call), but not many other islands of the Southern Caribbean.

Right now, here are the 7 night itineraries leaving out of San Juan in Feb.

    1) Jewel of the Seas - St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia

    2) Adventure of the Seas - Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Maarten

    3) Adventure of the Seas - Bonaire, Aruba, St. Kitts, St. Maarten

    4) Adventure of the Seas - St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados

    5) Jewel of the Seas - St. Croix, St. Maarten, Roseau Dominica, Barbados, Grenada

    6) Adventure of the Seas - St. Maarten, Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba

So please post your feedback on these itineraries! I think all of them would be amazing, but I would love to know different peoples opinions of pros/cons with the itineraries and ship(s) :D

We are sort of prejudiced towards AOS. (Especially if Kelly Goodrich is the Schooner Bar Entertainer.) We also love St Lucia and St Kitts.:):)

  6. This is a very basic question, but I have not sailed Royal in about 5 years. I have the plastic luggage tag holders you buy off Amazon that I have used for my past 2 Carnival cruises. Will my tags for our upcoming cruise with Royal fit with these as well or do I need to order different ones?

Just am not sure if the tags with Royal are much different than Carnival's.

    Thanks for any help

They will do fine. You may have to trim them a wee bit, but not a problem.:)

  7. Are you aloud to buy a 6pack or a bottle of wine while in port and drink it in your room over the remainder of the cruise? Or will it be held until the cruise is over?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

If you attempt to bring it on board, it will be confiscated. If un-opened, you may get it back at the end of the cruise.

  8. I found that if I cancel our January cruise (two staterooms) and rebook it, I will save about $100 per room, plus each room will get $50 OBC. It would be a guarantee room. Would you do it?

How much in love with your current cabin assignments are you? That would be the difference.
