i feel you missed my point, those fares are more expensive because of the perks being "included.

They are not expensive, my sister was comparing RC prices to Celebrity and Celebrity may be 400 more but that includes all the extras which if she cruised on RC the cruise cost her alot more with all those items which she always wants.

And yet, when I was comparing pricing between Harmony and Equinox for a cruise in June, the total cost of an InsIde balcony on Harmony was around $2400 for two. Equinox was about &2600. for an OV balcony plus paid gratuities, WiFi, drink package for 2 and $600 OBC.  I thought that was a pretty good deal.

That is the same deal my sister has for the Edge this November.

The drink packages are not "included" on the lines you mentioned. If you look at the bottom line cruise fare, the drink packages may not be line item listed, but you are paying for it. At least on Royal you have the option to choose not to buy.

There are many Celebrity cruises which include the drink package, internet, dining package, gratuities and shipboard credit...my sister today is boarding the Celebrity Equinox and booked with all those incentives and during thanksgiving week she be on the Edge with the same incentives but $600 shipboard credit!  My friend is going on the Breakaway in a few weeks, she also has the dining package and drink package included.

  4. I am reading on boards here of people not purchasing the drink package due to the price increase and I am reading about others that will go to NCL, Celebrity and MSC because the drink package is included.  Just curious whether RC wants to keep its customers and will do something by either offering a more special rate at times for the drink package or bring back discounts for diamond and above members.

I have sailed every class of ship on CCL - will be on the Breeze next week and it will be my 25th cruise with Carnival.

I really liked the Paradise.  I first sailed on her in 2016 after sailing the larger ships for the 3-4 years prior.  I was a little apprehensive about going back to the smaller ships, but was pleasantly surprised.  I will be going back on the Paradise for the 5th time in November.  Not sure when you sailed on her, but she has been upgraded with the inclusion of Guys, Blue Iguana, etc.  I think she's a great choice when you want to take a shorter cruise.

We sailed the Breeze this year along with two other smaller Carnival ships, the Breeze was not our favorite ship only because there were so many "traffic jams" and the breakfast buffets were the longest lines that we ever experienced on our Carnival cruises.  Carnival needs to rethink where certain items need to be placed, for instance, at the end of the line was the bacon and they always ran out of bacon, so you had to wait for the bacon to come plus the condiments/syrup and such are at the end of the buffet line which held up the lines even more.  They need to place those items somewhere away from the buffet line to keep the lines moving faster.

I would like to hear your experience when you come back....any cruise is better than no cruise so Bon Voyage!

  6. I am happy on any cruise, but after sailing on 100 ships, I do tend to look at other ships when we are docked in port.  Generally, I laugh at the Carnival ships, so small, kind of ancient in my opinion.  But, when the foot is on the other shoe, I look at the large ships and say "I been on that one too".

  7. The people who haven't cruised yet would not know the difference, and I am unsure whether they would take another cruise after the Paradise experience.

Those who have cruised the MSC will notice the difference in the entertainment/shows but most importantly, the food in both the buffets and the MDR.  I would think they would be disappointed and notice the differences between MSC and Carnival.

I prefer the newer larger ships, but I also take turns in cruising the smaller ships for shorter cruises.
