Shipyard is closed down.
Thought I read last week there was a fire in one of the cabins they were working on. Was put out rather quickly I believe. So they must be doing some work on the ship I would think.

If you are NOT a gambler, think about running $25-$50 through on a slot machine for fun, and then see if in the future, you get some of the more generous offers. Especially if you take a cruise after that and don’t gamble at all. Might be worth the $25 gamble (pun intended)

I wouldn't mind trying this theory out if it weren't for all the smoke in the casinos on the ships. We were on the Horizon last April & I thought perhaps they had forgotten to install or turn on a filtration system. Avoided walking through or past it as much as possible. Casinos here are now nonsmoking & boy is it nice!

People who say they hardly spend any money in the casino but get good casino offers..are big fibbers..
😂😂😂 true! I know someone who fits in that category at a local casino. Husband also says he always hears how much she wins but never how much she actually put in those machines to win lol.

When logged in where do you check for OBC ? Thanks
Look in your planner. Some times it pops right up the cost, payment/balance, OBC. However most times I have to act like I'm printing my documents (but I don't print them) & from there you can see your statement.

Last we heard PVP was trying to get our $600 OBC. Didn't understand why they could put $100 OBC in account & not $600. Hit that #6 instead of #1 on keyboard.
Checked this morning and the $100 OBC is gone. We'll see how it plays out. Way more important things in the world going on right now so don't think I'm going to reach out to him or Carnival for a while to check on it.
I am curious though if anyone else's OBC has disappeared? I know there was a glitch in the carnival website last night & it was down for maintenance when I tried to log into account.

We've never sailed RC but have a cruise booked in October. I know they will lower the price if it drops and you call in. I've actually seen the price drop twice, called and rate was changed.
I noticed a price drop this morning, called and the guy said he couldn't do it. Something about availability, we could upgrade, blah blah, husband and I didn't really understand what he was talking about and dropped it. We didn't want to change cabins. I checked online and there was one available in our category and the price was lower than what we currently have.
Am I missing something w/RC's policy? Thanks in advance for any info y'all can provide.

New to Royal (well if we get to go in October) and I'm wondering if there are vacation planners like Carnival? I did my booking in January by phone and have called back twice for price adjustments. The last person I talked to said something about casino something something related to assigned vacay planners. I was tired so didn't ? it and figured I'd come to the board for my answer 😉

Alecto, if the agent I talked to was able to add it to my reservation, I don't understand why the ones you have talked to can't easily do it.
My thoughts exactly

Did you see your 600 OBC on your booking right away? I just had everything transferred successfully from my May cruise to our newly booked cruise. I asked about the OBC and she said you would see it when we boarded which seemed strange but this is a strange situation. Just dont want to miss getting it if it is suppose to show on my booking.
Unless we see it in our booking I'm not trusting it will be there when we board. I know these are unusual & overwhelming times but in the past they've been able to add OBC within minutes while we were on the phone (& that was after getting approval from a supervisor while we waited on the phone).
Here's the thing, if they can add $100 OBC this afternoon, why couldn't they have put in $600??? Falls under the things that make me go hmmmm category. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get it & supremely disappointed if we don't & reconsider Carnival cruising in the future.

Our PVP has been trying all afternoon to get ours. Have only seen $100 posted on our booking so far. on 3/9 we cancelled our 4/25 cruise, used FCC and rescheduled for next yea so we fall within the guidelines of the email that was sent earlier this week. Wait and see at this point.

What is a vifp rate and arent most of Carnivals rates now early saver except maybe fun select?
Sent from my iPhone using ForumsSometime if you put your VIFP # in you will have a special rate or if you gamble you may get a casino rate. I don't play in the onboard casinos but hubs does & he always gets a much better rate.

I think the cruise Gods are try to tell me to stay home.
Same for us. Was supposed to be on a 5 day Sensation for a throw back cruise this September then the following day the Mardi Gras to Cuba. Cuba was cancelled then Mardi Gras. So we re-booked the Panorama for this April well that's cancelled. We have RC Symphony of the Seas booked this October & Panorama again next March. If those don't happen I might be throwing in my anchor & hanging my sign & sail card on a memory board instead of around my neck 😏

I just remembered, on Carnival in the early days you would get a "print" of the ship. It was kind like a mini poster.
Yeah we have a few of those too. Last ones we got were on Conquest in 2008. The waiters gave us a few. They're really pretty.

How the heck do you get an $18 drink package? We haven't sailed RC yet (have 1 booked for Oct this year).

Mozzarella & Arugula on Focaccia - GRILLED. Also grab prosciutto from the salad bar if they have it to put inside. Yummy!
Sweet heaven that sounds so good right now. I'm making a mental note to try next year.

Yummy pastrami on rye lightly toasted. But usually wait until second to last day & sometime another on the last day 😉 to get because they're so full of sodium I bloat like a puffer fish 😂😂

It will take a while but stores/restaurants will re-open (sadly some won't survive) and I'm sure most people will settle back into a routine of old. Our kids are grown & we're in our early 50's. I think Facebook is overrated and refuse to have one and have thought for a few years it would be nice if families interacted with each other more. You know, have a family meal together (without someone's head buried in their phone) or play outside in the yard together, go for bike rides. Our street hasn't seen this many bikes in years! Every evening riding past our house. I've seen more families together outside (in their own yards) playing ball, doing chores together, and heard stories of parents getting to spend more quality time with their kids because they're not running from can to can't with all of the kids' activities away from home, school and work.
My hope is that after we get through this trying time, people have figured out a way to make their quality time spent together now the new norm.
