  1. That is the real injury. What is or is not included is the "insult" - the "injury" is the unilateral alteration of the agreement -- the terms and conditions being changed after the purchase.

  2. What we really need to understand is "well liquor" v. "call liquor" -- or potentially, a "named cocktail". Example:

Can I ask for a "rum and coke" and receive as an included cocktail? There is a rum on the included list; cola is included. I fully understand the difference between asking for a generic "rum and coke" v. a "Barcardi and coke" ... or, with Azamara a "Cuba Libre" (opportunistic up-sell on a Cuba intensive itinerary!! IMHO)

Then I need to know how to order an "INCLUDED" mojito!!

  3. I thought I'd once seen a speciality restaurant package in the Voyage Planner. But since I've never been able to get back in to the Voyage Planner, I can't swear that it could be actually purchased.

  4. There have been two changes on our Cuba cruise -- specifically, the change in itinerary deleting Cozumel and increasing overnights - but in so doing, also doubling the sea days - and now this change in amenities. In my field, one party to a contract isn't permitted to change the conditions of the contract after the agreement to the terms.

Now - I know that there is a reservation fo change the itinerary ... but more relevant to me, a 1st time customer -- these changes, along with the fact of the problems with accessing and navigating the web site, and the startling unilateral terminations of contracts, - 2 of which have been aired here - all balanced against the price of the cruise, make me begin seriously re-considering the choice of Azamara.

  5. So -- can I ask for a Mojito made with the INCLUDED rum on my Cuban intensive cruise -- or can a Mojito be made ONLY with the PREMIUM rum so they can charge me for it?

  6. Maybe "Eaton" doesn't want to talk, but I'd like to get this clarified! Monuments = CUC; People = CUP. Right?? As a quick check??

    Are CUC's also labeled "pesos"??

So -- what is the item attached as an image by tallyho8 - it has a picture and is labeled "3 pesos" -- so is it CUP or CUC?

  7. The issue is so constant, so consistently wrong, that "not working" is the norm -- therefore requires little comment.

I just checked -- still get a full page error notice. Color me not surprised anymore!

  8. I totally accept that each person is fully entitled to their feelings about the change. We have that same sailing date and we are fine with the change. The timing in Cozumel was disadvantageous for any interior sites - and not particularly good even for Tulum -- and ... "been there, done that (a couple of times!)" I admit that I like sea days after busy touring days.

I do hope that it works out for you if you decide to cancel

  9. The web site is a horror -- totally 5th rate! My sister wants to check our itinerary (due to the changes) and she cannot get to that in the My Azamara part -- but CAN get to book shore excursions! Where they want to sell something, the web site works! And the CONSTANT marketing emails!! JEEEZZZZ!

  10. I appreciate this information as well as the OP! I've been struggling trying to figure out HOW to figure out WHEN on these dining matters! I don't want to miss anything! I am particularly happy to hear that the buffet themes are announced early as well as the White Night event!

  11. I've been wondering about this for our November 10, 2018 departure on the Journey.

The webs site seems very difficult -- I can't get to shore excursion in "my account", nor spa information. I can find brief text about the various on board packages, but not where to actually purchase. My "guess" is that we can't book anything until we've actually paid in full -- but that really seems ... secretive... as to what we are buying. I like LOTS of information when I'm making decisions ... and so far, the Azamara site seems pretty stingy with information!

  12. I agree with cpayne -- already been held up at gun and machete point in Costa Rica -- sincerely wish to avoid the experience ever again! So it is a balance between safety and fun! I've copied your list cpayne -- and will be watching for your review! Thanks for doing the research!

  13. Ms. MacLaird -- I noticed you said you were enjoying a shore excursion from a port stop in Cienfuegos. Since there are NO ship's excursions listed in Cienfuegos for our November 10, 2018 Cuba intensive cruise ... I'm wondering if you are on a "test" trip .. or research. Or, more broadly, I'm wondering whether or not the excursion brochure we've received will be amended later to include more choices overall, and specifically something for Cienfuegos.

  14. I'm interested in your views and opinions as to dining on Azamara.

How do you "rate" the food - not service but the taste and quality of the food -- in the MDR and in other included dining venues?

I've found that the quality of the food, across a number of ships and cruise lines, has generally diminished with the advent of "premium" dining. I view premium dining as a way for the cruise lines to increase revenues in two ways: 1) attach themselves to the Pax wallet and 2) lower what is offered in non-premium dining. Earlier in our cruising experience, before "alternative" dining, the MDR was an experience that offered really very good food, well prepared and presented -- certainly as good as we could obtain at home in an "up scale" restaurant. With the advent of extra cost dining, we found the quality of food in the MDR appreciably lowered -- acceptable (with the glaring exception of Carnival - most of which, in our opinion doesn't even meet acceptable standards) but less quality than what can be had at any eat-in, franchise restaurant in my area (eg: Chilis, Olive Garden, Boston Market, Applebee's, Red Lobster).

I totally understand that much of the dining part of cruising is really individual tastes and expectations. But I'd still like to hear the views of this community of "regulars" - and ostensibly fans, to the Azamara line
