David is the same, lots of nice bow ties but boring black shoes.
My OH is the same!
I really miss being able to dress up and love the opportunity to wear a bit of sparkle on a cruise. It feels like so long since we had the opportunity to wear any nice clothes. All I seem to wear at the moment is jeans, sweatshirt and flat shoes.-

Me too. Born there and only moved away 6 years ago, x
I’ve stayed within a 10 mile radius all my life. I was born in Wallington, moved to Cheam at 6 and then my parents owned our old house until 2008. OH and I have always lived around this area.

Great news for you and excellent that you have been informed.
Having previously lived in Cheam (for 55 years) and worked in Epsom (for 18 years) - it is a shame I’m no longer in that area!I grew up in Cheam!

We both had texts from our GP surgery today telling us that our vaccines will be provided by the new centre that is about to open at Epsom Racecourse. We were told that we will be contacted directly at the appropriate time and not to contact the surgery about it - OH is in the 4th group and I am in the 5th.

I’ve just had a Sainsbury’s delivery and 6 items were not available or substituted and the driver confirmed there are lots of items sold out. He said he can see it’s a lockdown from his deliveries but not from the amount of traffic on the roads 🤔
Our Sainsbury’s delivery is due this evening and based on what we have seen in the news we were expecting there to be a lot of items not available especially as we order a lot of fresh fruit and veg. However we are pleasantly surprised to find that they have only swapped the loose tangerines for ready bagged and changed the brand of bread we ordered.

Hey peeps
im doing ok thanks for worrying about me. Just having a tough time with my illness and work, plus dog and then marital issues. Now the kids are off again. Just busy. Do keep
popping on to see how everyone is. Glad everyone else is ok.
Good to hear from you Vampiress. Sounds like you are having a tough time, but things will get better for us all. We just need to hang in there and take each day at a time.

We usually cruise the Med in October and mostly have had lovely weather. As others have said it is obviously warmer in the more southern ports, but we always manage to come home with a bit of a tan!

I am opted in as well and have repeated the request from time to time, bit still not had anything from them. I have the same problem with the Sparks. Not in junk either.
It’s the same for us. We used to get emails, but nothing for several months now. We keep checking and we have definitely opted in for emails, but the IT doesn’t seem to acknowledge that and actually send anything!

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable time even if of necessity it is somewhat different from how you would normally spend the time. Here’s hoping that 2021 brings us some degree of normality and a return to cruising!

We wish her well and hope she recovers soon.
As for the rest of your family ,take care and stay safe .
Thank you Kalos. She has a husband and 3 year old child - both well at the moment. We have not seen them since February and fortunately her mother did not meet up with her as planned last weekend.

Just heard that our niece is quite poorly and has tested positive for COVID-19. She is a primary school teacher in Essex and apparently her school has quite a large outbreak. She is in her 30s and very fit and active, but nevertheless we are concerned for her.

Hi all and sis, finally got a £5 a month cheapo internet with BT.We caught an earlier Eurotunnel and got home at 2.30.Thought great I can chill out now but found that the bog wouldn't flush, some idiot neighbour was flushing wetwipes for the 9 months I was away.Spent the afternoon lifting heavy manhole covers and waiting for Thames Water to come and clear it.After reading all the rows a few pages back I'm glad that's the only crap I can be accused of posting.Popped in Boots yesterday to enquire about flu jab and they done us both straight away.Got my £200 heating allowance today, just don't tell them we were not here in Sept to qualify for it,lol.Hey sis, glad you're posting regularly again, was getting worried reading 20 pages back, cheers,Brian.
Welcome home Brian.

So sorry to hear about your dog Vampiress. I understand how sad you must all be feeling at the moment and you will miss him so much. In time you will remember all the happy times and the love and companionship he has given you for so many years.

Quite. And because the salary as originally calculated was reduced to take account of the pension, the pensionable salary was itself reduced, leading to an even lower pension.
You are quite correct - I was a civil servant for 37 years before retiring. This reduction in the amount of gross salary also impacted on, for example, the amount we were able to obtain for a mortgage. Many people are quick to say that civil servants pay and remuneration is generous, but it is not so simple!

Lovely, punchy malt. If he likes Laphroig try getting him a Caol Ila, it has the same sort of punch but more salty than smoke.
Thank you Eglesbrech - I’ve made a note of that one!

Opening Asda as we speak to add my order.
I tried to get the Laphroig which was on special last week but while it allowed me to order it, it didn’t come.
Laphroig is my husband’s favourite - I usually buy him a bottle for Christmas.

We intend to have the vaccine as soon as we are able to - we are both over 65 and keen to get back to some kind of normality in our daily life. We have a cruise booked for October 2021, but shall want to see what future cruises look like before we commit to making final payment.

My niece has just called me her husband came home from work on Tuesday feeling ill, he had a covid test on Wednesday and had the result this morning telling him he is positive. They now all have to isolate and she has got to speak to her consultant about what to do about her next chemo session which is 2 weeks today. Just when you think things can't get worse they do ☹️☹️
So sorry to hear that Josy - very best wishes to your family.

Our last cruise was 19 nights in the Med on Arcadia in October 2019. Even though we had visited most of the ports before some of them are favourites and we had a great time, enjoyed good weather and met some lovely people.

So sorry to hear the news Sue. Here’s hoping he continues to only have mild symptoms and recovers speedily.
