First visit to thus thread. I'm confused, cant figure out the spreadsheet (Im using ipad)

It's probably not even on here, but I'm looking any comments on Reflection Room #6105.  Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks!

The link to the spreadsheet is on the first page of this thread.  There are no reviews on Cabin 6105, but those on Eclipse 6103 (next door) are not good.  Instructions on using the spreadsheet is in a tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet.  I've heard of people having problems on an ipad.  If you found the spreadsheet, try using a laptop.

This re noise:  "Quiet whilst cruising BUT noisy from about 90 mins before docking. This cabin is directly above a platform that is lowered about 90 mins before docking and it makes a very loud and noticeable thud / bang vibrating in the cabin when they lower (or drop?) this platform. Additionally loud whirring noise can be heard during raising and lowering of anchor. There is also a crew access door near the cabin which seems to be used quite often by entertainment staff - no noise from within the cabin from the corridor or from the theatre below - sound insulation from theatre must be good."

  2. Greg - Thoroughly enjoyed your informative review. We have yet to visit Alaska, but probably will once we retire. We sailed with Carnival once, and said never again (but that was back in the late 90s).  So, I am looking forward to your review/comparison with Princess. We've done 3 with NCL but many more with Princess and then Celebrity.

Thank you for your time and detailed reporting.

  3. GP - Equinox put those high tops in the casino sometime after 2015.  I was surprised, think they were losing revenue from the slots they took out, but another way to look at it is this:  Usually it is either the husband or wife that gambles (I'm the gambling wife).  If my husband doesn't have a "happy place", then chances are neither of us are staying for too long.

We both have enjoyed our casino time on Equinox, him watching sports, me gambling.  Our next cruise is on Reflection which did not make the seating change. We will see how much time I spend playing with dice if there are only 10 bar stools available.😉

Vaping will be a no go for me.  Thanks for the report!

This thread is great! But still looking for Crap table minimums after March, which I know was $10 on an M class and an E class. Anyone??

May 12-21 on Equinox was $10 min.

Yes, thank you, I have heard of dialysis at sea.  The logistics of getting down to Florida and pacing my treatments is just too much for me to worry about.  I’ve had other medical problems on top of this.  This is the first summer in 6 years that I haven’t been in surgery.  I’ve survived heart failure, colon cancer, 9 inches of my colon removed, kidney failure, dialysis 4 hour sessions 3 times per week, triple bypass, 6 trips to OR for vascular surgery, upper GI bleeding and now I will undergo a kidney transplant.  The transplant will be my 15th trip to the OR in 6 years.  Good grief…I haven’t had enough spare time to take a cruise even if I was able…LOL.  Hopefully I’ll get the kidney in 2023 and 2024 will be my year to cruise once again.  To all of you out there…count your blessings!

It sounds like you have paid your dues.  My fingers are crossed for you.

Great review…thanks so much for making the effort.  I’m sitting here in “dry dock”waiting for a kidney transplant…5 years+ in dialysis and will hopefully return to cruising shortly.  Reading reviews like yours lets me live vicariously, keeps me informed and hopeful for a future on the sea!  Thanks again.

Have you heard of Dialysis at Sea? We met a lovely young woman at the beach in St. Maarten a few years back off the Equinox.  She was by herself (sitting on a Celebrity towel) and struggling to leave her possessions sitting on the lounger to take a dip in the water.  We told her we would look after her stuff and ended up having a nice conversation about how/why she was onboard.  She was one of the technicians.

Thanks Tom ... saw your post after I wrote that.

I guess we had the opposite complaint when they shifted to the new point structure.   We have always sailed in Suites and in the conversion instead of getting credits for the number of days x points per night we got just 2 points per cruise compared to 180 points we will get for this cruise in a CS.

Jim - If you only received 2 points there is something wrong.  On our 7 night (non-suite) cruises between 1996 and 2001, we received 1 point per cruise.  When the conversion happened, we were given 30 points per cruise. I was able to see my points for all cruises on the Celebrity website until sometime during the pandemic, when Celebrity backed out the pre-2014 cruises from their website.  I'm glad I had recorded mine before then.  I'm sure you can have someone on board (Captain Circle host) pull up your account to verify a proper conversion.

I've heard that but you have to remember back in the stone ages when I was in school the portable computer was not to be invented for another 20 years.   I had one of the first with DOS 1.0 and Two huge floopy drives.   The home hard drive was not available yer.    I worked for a Disk Drive Company and we had one of the first home Hard Drive.... About $800 and weighed 10 pounds.     They had huge capacity of 10 Megabytes.   Yes Megabytes.

Jim - One of these days, when you are not cruising around the world, I'd love for you to walk us through your resume.  It seems you have had many diverse employments throughout your life. I think it would be a wonderful off topic discussion.  The "pilot" took me by surprise.  I'm enjoying your present journey!

No link, but this is from my cruise docs received earlier this week...future.jpg.aa84fa4b58a1619f6a9a5510f0391d2e.jpg

I would suggest to anyone putting down your deposit with these, sign it, DATE it, and take a picture of it.  There are multiple versions (book within 3 months, 6 months or 12 months) out there.  Our cruise in November was using the book within 12 months version, so I put down deposits for two cruises for us, but when we received the certificates once we returned home, they were issued for use within 3 months.  Also, watch the amount of the OBC, my 8 night Concierge cabin was given a $100 credit instead of $150.  Do not assume Celebrity knows what it's doing...or does it?
