I have only used Uber a couple of times. How do you request a pickup from the port to go to the airport? I’m imagining hundreds of people milling about waiting for a ride, so how would I recognize the driver and how would he recognize me? Or are they waiting somewhere just like taxis?

Same email for February.

I like staying downtown.
Best means different things to different people though.
If a beach is important at your hotel look at Miami Beach/South Beach.
For me that is not best because I prefer a quieter area and I am not a beach person.
This is a list of hotels I have compiled for the downtown area representing a range of price points.

Thanks for the great information!!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

We will be staying near 5th Street in South Beach, Miami Beach. Any recommendations for a good authentic Cuban restaurant for lunch or dinner? Any serving Cuban coffee at breakfast? Also, any other ideas for just good restaurants with entrees around $25 or less? Thanks for all suggestions!

Does 150 on Symphony still have the salts of the world?
-
I love the set menu this way I am able to eat what I choose. We dine at least 4 nights on our week long cruises at 150 Central Park and its our most favorite specialty restaurant. We love the salts of the world too!
I read on a thread about Symphony that they no longer have the salts! I hope they bring them back.

My question is how is this going to be staffed? Do you think this counts as an activity and you have to sign a waiver (also do you have to for the water slides)? Are there going to be certain hours that its going to be open or will it be open 24/7. Just some thoughts.
You don't need a waiver for the water slides on the Liberty.

We had the three night package on the Liberty. We booked the time for the first night, but not the restaurant. We were told we would be assigned times and restaurants for the other two nights, but we could change them once on board. We went to one of the specialty restaurants right after boarding, and found that we had a time for the first night, but not a restaurant. We did not have times or restaurants assigned for the other two nights. However, we had no problem at all getting the days, times, and restaurants we wanted.

If you have time in your travels the Kemah boardwalk is a good destination. I live near Beaumont and we will drive the hour to go out there to eat dinner and walk around.
Thanks. The Kemah Boardwalk is one reason we are staying nearby in League City. I just checked the website and it does say rides are seasonal. The hours are longer on Saturday, so maybe more will be running. We are still looking forward to just walking around and having dinner there at least.

Thanks for the pic! I, for one, am excited about the slides :D. We're on the second sailing after dry dock on 2/14. I don't care if the restaurants are finished yet, but the slides better be open!!!
I'll be on 2/14 also. I can't wait for the slides!

On which street is the entrance to the covered parking at Park N Cruise in Galveston?
-
We are cruising out of Galveston, but staying in League City the night before. We will be driving through Beaumont. It looks like I-10 to Highway 146 through Kemah is the most direct route. It will be on a Saturday, mid day probably by the time we get there. Is traffic horrible on 146? Is there a better way to go? We do not want toll roads. Thanks!

I already booked 2 specialty restaurants, if I decide to book a 3rd one onboard will I get the 30percent discount?
I had the same situation. Initially I was told yes, and told that the Chef's Table was included. Later I was told I had to book the package, and Chef's Table was not included. You get to choose between the first and second night and time for the first dinner (but not the restaurant). The other restaurants, days, and times are given to you once on board. I was told we could change days/times/restaurants from what is assigned, but of course it depends on what's left.

Walk from Park and Cruise is no longer than a long walk to gate in airport.
Thanks for all the information!

In total, it's over a two block walk from Park-n-Cruise to Terminal 2. I would not want to make this trek with much luggage, so I suggest if parking a these lots on Strand (which don't have shuttles) that you plan to drive into the terminal for luggage drop-off and pickup. Yes, driving into the terminal is "cluster".
We reserved covered parking Park-n-Cruise for our Liberty of the Seas trip. My wife and I will have one suitcase each, and I may have a carry-on that I can place on top of my suitcase as I pull it. I was hoping to be able to park, then walk across the street to the terminal to check our bags. Same when leaving. Is it just inconvenient, or almost impossible?

I would expect it to be like it is on Freedom (flat fee), the sister ship.
Great. Good point.
-
I would also go for Chef's Table. More interesting food than Chops.
It's not really Chops, and is not a Chops menu. Like Chef's Table, it is a fixed menu. Maybe it's new.
-
Sabor is a la carte on Oasis and Allure only. On the other ships it is a fixed price like other specialty restaurants.
There are 2 slightly different menus either the fixed price menu having a few more options.
Sabor is going to be added to the Liberty during its refurbishment this month. I hope it is not a la carte as on the Oasis and Allure.

The Liberty of the Seas is offering Chops Grill - California Vinyards, a wine pairing dinner, and Chef's Table. Chops Grill is $74.50 and Chef's Table is $85. I need to choose one. Any recommendations?
-
We are leaving on the Liberty of the Seas in February. There is a banner advising of dining packages, but I have not found a way to sign up for the package. Right now I have two restaurants booked. If I book a third, will I get on board credit, or what happens?
-
I was about to make a reservation for Sabor on the Liberty of the Seas in February, and the sample menu gives prices for each food item. It also says "prices starting at $25" and has a $20 tasting menu. Is Sabor a la carte on all ships, is this something new, or is it a mistake?
