  1. When you order your Uber, you know the type of car that's coming as well as the license plate. So for example you would look for a red Toyota Camry license XYZ-123 to show up. As soon as you see the car, you hop in. You can also send a note when you do your order. i.e. "I'm wearing a green shirt and a white baseball cap, standing at the end of the sidewalk near a white van"

    Great. Thanks.

  2. I have only used Uber a couple of times. How do you request a pickup from the port to go to the airport? I’m imagining hundreds of people milling about waiting for a ride, so how would I recognize the driver and how would he recognize me? Or are they waiting somewhere just like taxis?

  3. I like staying downtown.

Best means different things to different people though.

If a beach is important at your hotel look at Miami Beach/South Beach.

For me that is not best because I prefer a quieter area and I am not a beach person.

This is a list of hotels I have compiled for the downtown area representing a range of price points.

    Thanks for the great information!!

  4. We had the three night package on the Liberty. We booked the time for the first night, but not the restaurant. We were told we would be assigned times and restaurants for the other two nights, but we could change them once on board. We went to one of the specialty restaurants right after boarding, and found that we had a time for the first night, but not a restaurant. We did not have times or restaurants assigned for the other two nights. However, we had no problem at all getting the days, times, and restaurants we wanted.

  5. If you have time in your travels the Kemah boardwalk is a good destination. I live near Beaumont and we will drive the hour to go out there to eat dinner and walk around.

Thanks. The Kemah Boardwalk is one reason we are staying nearby in League City. I just checked the website and it does say rides are seasonal. The hours are longer on Saturday, so maybe more will be running. We are still looking forward to just walking around and having dinner there at least.

  6. I already booked 2 specialty restaurants, if I decide to book a 3rd one onboard will I get the 30percent discount?

I had the same situation. Initially I was told yes, and told that the Chef's Table was included. Later I was told I had to book the package, and Chef's Table was not included. You get to choose between the first and second night and time for the first dinner (but not the restaurant). The other restaurants, days, and times are given to you once on board. I was told we could change days/times/restaurants from what is assigned, but of course it depends on what's left.

  7. In total, it's over a two block walk from Park-n-Cruise to Terminal 2. I would not want to make this trek with much luggage, so I suggest if parking a these lots on Strand (which don't have shuttles) that you plan to drive into the terminal for luggage drop-off and pickup. Yes, driving into the terminal is "cluster".

We reserved covered parking Park-n-Cruise for our Liberty of the Seas trip. My wife and I will have one suitcase each, and I may have a carry-on that I can place on top of my suitcase as I pull it. I was hoping to be able to park, then walk across the street to the terminal to check our bags. Same when leaving. Is it just inconvenient, or almost impossible?

  8. Sabor is a la carte on Oasis and Allure only. On the other ships it is a fixed price like other specialty restaurants.

There are 2 slightly different menus either the fixed price menu having a few more options.

Sabor is going to be added to the Liberty during its refurbishment this month. I hope it is not a la carte as on the Oasis and Allure.

  9. I was about to make a reservation for Sabor on the Liberty of the Seas in February, and the sample menu gives prices for each food item. It also says "prices starting at $25" and has a $20 tasting menu. Is Sabor a la carte on all ships, is this something new, or is it a mistake?
