You're OK for ArriveCAN. Did you make arrangements for a pre-embarkation covid test?
Yes. It's tomorrow and we sail on Sept 1st. Thank you

We already filled out our arriveCAN info but also was reading that we need to resubmit again 72 hours prior to getting to Canada. is this correct? It's my first time cruising to Canada so apologies if this has been asked already. Thank you!

Have to schedule our covid tests for Tuesday, 8/30. So confused as to which company to go with is the best. We will be using the government covid tests sent to us. Looking at OnPoint and Rapid test & trace. Which one would you recommend for those of you that have traveled since covid and used eith pr both of these companies.
Thank you

My wife and I have a few specific extra things that we ask for on day one, e.g. place sheets over the sofa and chairs, extra ice, a hot water kettle for the room, etc.
Great idea!!

Canada is 2 days still, not 3 like most others are now
Thank you for clarifying that.

Also, those instructions -- one is for vaccinated and one is for not fully vaccinated. They do not conflict.
Oops...cut and pasted wrong info 😖
Thanks for input

From what I have been reading it used to be you needed a covid test within 2 days prior to cruising...now I am also reading it has changed to 3 days prior cruise. Which one is it? Our cruise is going to Canada if that matters.
Tried calling Royal but on hold for quite a long time.
"Vaccinated guests must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated may follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests."
"Guests 2 to 11 years of age who are not fully vaccinated must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise. These guests will no longer be required to take a second test at the terminal."

And I leave extra tip on the last evening for the cabin Stewart. I never tip on the first day. You don’t tip a waiter in a restaurant when you first sit down at the table do you?
Good point

They e-mail you a PDF file. My proctor stayed on the video chat to make sure I received it and that the info was correct. Nothing to be nervous about.
Who did you use? Rapid?

Having a debate with a friend....
~What is the best way to leave an extra cash tip per day for our room steward....in an envelope, post it note on cash or ....?
~What about extra tips for bartenders? Is it better to give them cash with each order/total bill or add it to the signed receipt copy?
Thanks!

Eventide. Brown Butter Lobster Roll (no mayonnaise). My wife loved it.
This sounds REALLY good!!
Very different from the usual lobster roll.
Is Eventide within walking distance from the cruise terminal?
Thanks

East End Beach is about a mile (15-20 min) walk from the cruise terminal. It is not a real "beachy" beach (more shingle than sand), and has become a bit of a pet toilet. However, taking the Eastern Promenade Trail, which is about 2 miles long, and includes the walk to East End Beach, is very nice for views of Casco Bay and the islands. Some very nice large, old houses along the Eastern Prom. Shipyard Brewery is before the trail, and the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad is near the start. Of course, going the other way from the terminal lands you directly in the Old Port, and downtown Portland, with all it has to offer.
Great info, very helpful. thank you

The place you take a selfie for checkin is the same place you upload the details of your passport or ID. Just below it. I literally just registered for an October cruise this morning and that's where it was.
Not required though to fully register. I skipped my 3 kids since they were already at school when I registered, but I'll probably modify it later to add their photos. You can complete registration without the photos.
Thanks for that info! Very helpful! When I went to add a photo, all my checks were in place and stated all done. I just checked it after reading your post and saw where to add.

Love all the comments thus far.
How about eating the food with their hands in the Windjammer while putting more food onto their plate.
The people who refuse to use hand sanitizer while entering Windjammer/MDR.

Started check in awhile ago but went to finish tonight. There was no where where they asked for a picture.
Am I missing something? I want to make terminal check in go smoothly.
TIA

If you have a sweater under a windbreaker should be enough.
Do you suggest wearing shorts or long pants? So far it's looking like it will be in the low 70's during the day.
Definitely bringing a jacket, sweatshirt, rain poncho and umbrella. Looks like there is a lot of rain during that time (beginning of Sept)

Doing the Maine/Halifax/Saint John itinerary next week. What's the weather like? Should I bring a light or mid-weight jacket or will a windbreaker (jacket with no lining) be sufficient?
Are you on the Sept 1st sailing?
I was thinking the same thing. I've been looking at the weather there and it is still pretty warm for the extended forecast.

Note you're not viewing the menu for your cruise. You're viewing the menu for the currently sailing cruise for that ship. So if that's a 5-day cruise, you'll just see 5 days.
OH....Thanks so much!! So do you think the dinners 1-5 are the same as the 9 nighter?

I'm currently on the Adventure 9 night, and the full menus didn't appear in the app either until right before the cruise or on Day 1. I can't remember. Relax. They will feed you. (not very well, but you will be fed)
😆😂
Not worried about getting fed but will pass on my non-favorites. Thanks for the info

Cruising on Sept. 1st 9 night Adventure of the Seas and was looking at the menus on my app and they only have 5 days of menus listed for MDR. Wanted to see what dinners we want to miss and go to specialty restaurants.
Is this normal? Now I'm starting to question if the menus they have for days 1-4 are even accurate.
Thanks for any help/info on this
