Am watching the same. It looks like the MSP to FAI direct might be a later season flight...doesnt show yet for June or early 2019 but do see it for Aug 2018

Interesting conversation as we had no idea that extras went to a pool! We only tip extra as a special thank you to those who went above and beyond the norm, so now Im rethinking if it even makes sense?

We were on the cruise that disembarked 2/7
We headed downstairs at 700 am with our luggage and the line was very orderly...we were instructed to put our bags in line and wait till we were given instructions to proceed and we would leave in the order of where the bags sat in line...aka no cutting in line
We headed down early mainly to avoid elevator traffic and we began to disembark by 810 am and we were in a taxi headed to the airport by 830

TY for this as we are booking an Alaska cruisetour for 2019.

We liked the Dawn
My mini review wasnt met to be negative, just really notice every year the decrease in overall service and quality...heck you dont even see much shrimp cocktail offerings anymore that used to be a nightly staple. One thing we miss about fixed dining is the connection you can make with your waitstaff team. Our experience with the MDR was food overcooked, rushed, and if we didnt ask if we could order a drink one would never be offerred.

We walked off at 745 and it was easy! Last year in Tampa and the Jade disembarkation was a disaster so we decided this time to do our own

JOHNANDLINDA,
My wife and I will be sailing the Dawn four weeks from today. Hope you (or any reader) can answer a question for us. Can the Ultimate Beverage Package be used in the Los Lobus specialty restaurant? THANKS in advance to all that can answer our question!! Jerry and Linda from WV
We had no issues with using the beverage package anywhere. We also tipped the bartenders a buck most of the time and they really appreciated it and they showed it in return for great service and strength of drinks. The evening crew in the Atrium late afternoons and evenings was a great team servicing the bar...had lots of fun with them!

Do you really think it's a good plan to have the cabin stewards hang over the balcony to wash & squeegee the glass?
Given the right squeegee with the appropriate length handle there would be no need to hang over the balcony...lol
-
Balcony glass was never cleaned in 10 days...why not give each cabin steward a squeegee to make it a quick and simple cleanup
-
We arrived about 1045...we boarded at noonish...we were boarding number 3...we got through registration and all in about 15 minutes

Our first on Dawn, second NCL
Overall we thought the ship was in great shape and easy to navigate. They certainly do not keep windows clean like they did years ago...lol
We were in cabin 10092, midship, very quiet. Only complaint was a very small leak of the toilet which they tried to fix but never did...we just put a towel down on the floor underneath.
Specialty dining was overall good. Cagneys outstanding, French very good, Moderno disappointing, and Mexican good especially the guacamole!
MDR was chaotic and food just ok. Buffet was just ok...lunch only had a carving station once which was disappointing.
Service overall good. Noticed a larger percentage of crew from India and they were very good.
We loved the thermal suite and did the weekly pass. Yes the tubs are a bit awkward to get in and out of but we just enjoyed the quiet solitude of the place.
Embarkation was a zoo. We carried off our bags and it was very organized and quick...off by 745 am
Shows were a bit disappointing for us. A 10 night cruise with only two shows by the cruise line singers and dancers?
Cruise Director was not good!
Overall we enjoyed as we chose this cruise to just escape the winter
-
We are just off Dawn also.
Embarkation day looked like a zoo...our shuttle dropped us off at the dropoff zone and there was a very long line, however there were 2 other doors open adjacent to the long line that had only a couple people so we said lets see if this line works and sure enough we walked right in
We carried bags off and it was very orderly...off ship at 745 am
Customs delays were terrible on our last cruise outta FLL...three agents for 2700 people!

We have a Jan 2019 cruise booked that we may cancel. We purchased Princess insurance. What do we lose? And would they just let us reschedule and book another cruise?
-
Heads up...next year the Orange Bowl is 1/7/2019 and its the college football championship
We are booked on a 1/6 cruise and pre cruise hotels are pricey!
-
We have this booked and thought maybe webwould enjoy a couple extra pre-cruise days in the sun. Started to look at motels and it appears thats gonna be a tough weekend to find good rates as its right before the NCAA football championship to be played in the Orange Bowl on 1/7

In the thermal spa area in the coed area where the lap pool is, are there normal type poolside chairs?
-
Thanks for the review! We are “on the fence” about purchasing the spa passes for our January cruise. I love to just soak in a pool and the indoor pool sounds nice and we also just love finding quiet...my wife would love the lounging area

Can OBC be used towards paying gratuities?
-
The NHL All Star game is in Tampa that weekend I think
We stay in Hilton Embassy Suites in Westshore and we use our points
Evening social hour is included, as well as airport shuttle
Taxi to port 20 bucks quick and easy
-
what times generally are the evening shows? Last NCL cruise we missed several conficting with dining times
-
One more question, you mention "relaxation rooms"
Are those rooms coed or is there one mens and one womens?
-
Thank you for the inputs! I love pool time too, another reason the spa pass interested me. In January would expect very few kids onboard...one reason we always try to cruise in January! When are people able to purchase online?
-
We are on the 1/28 10 day cruise out of Tampa. Would like to hear peoples thoughts on getting the spa pass please. We normallynspend everyday mostly just relaxing on the pool deck, but thought maybe the spa pass would allow for some daily quiet time in addition to shelter from the wind on sea days...seems a bit pricey and just not sure if its worth it

Its money well spent! Its really the only way to see the island! Theres not even a road that circumvents the entire island
