  1. Wow..I really didn't expect this thread to take the turn it did when I posted it yesterday. So let me explain a bit more....

DH enjoys getting massages on vacation (land or sea) and I have always gone out of my way to make that happen (Disney, Myrtle Beach, Luray....where ever we happen to vacation once a year). My son is normally with me when we "Drop dad off to get a Massage" since we normally have a rental car.

With saying that, my son only knows what a Massage really is other then when I describe them (once a year, during vacation). My thoughts were that he would like to be WITH his dad while they went and got one for the first time. If he went in and said "no way, Jose" then that is 100% fine with me. This would be for him to see if he would like them or not.

I am not a massage type of person...I know that and my son might not be also. But I thought it would be fun for him to try it out in this fashion.

But you all have valid points, I guess I should wait until he is over 12. Thanks everyone for your input, suggestions and thoughts!

  2. Hi Everyone,

DH loves his "cruise massages" and I just saw this one. But it states it is "intended" for 13-17 year olds (full info is below). A release needs to be signed and I wondered if anyone ever did this treatment with their 12 year old son and if that was allowed? I think this is something my son would really enjoy doing with his father.

    Online Info:

This popular teen menu treatment gives you something more than a massage. It gives you 50-minutes of valuable time together. Your professional therapists will expertly stroke and knead your muscles until every ounce of stress is banished from your body. Go on dad - indulge in some quality time with junior! The listed price is per couple.

    NOTES

Please Note: A parent or guardian will be required to sign a release on board for a minor to receive this treatment.

    RESTRICTIONS

•This treatment is part of the ZSPA program and is intended for guests between the ages of 13 and 17. Please see Terms and Conditions for additional treatment restrictions.

  3. I was reading another thread in which the price of Pixel Photos were brought up and another poster was kind enough to have a link to read from the FAQ Carnival Site. I was not aware that Vista has a digital Pixel Program and I think this would be great fleet wide. Just think of all the ink, paper and trash this would save along with the time saved hunting for your pictures daily among all other faces. Does anyone know if Carnival is considering this fleet wide? Below is what I read on the site:

    Pixels Photo Gallery

All photos are displayed daily in Pixels Photo Gallery, usually by the very next day. Due to limited space, the displays are changed daily to make room for new photos. Photos are available for purchase and are charged to the guest’s Sail & Sign card.

On the Carnival Vista, guests can view their photos on iPads at the photo gallery, on their stateroom interactive-TV or use the HUB App on their smart phone or tablet. With just a click, guests can order digital copies that will be downloaded to their device, order print copies which will be delivered to their stateroom or delete photos they do not wish to purchase. Prices below do not apply to the Carnival Vista.

  4. I'm only 4 days into it but when I took the day to shop the app was mostly "how" I was shopping. I have not tried any of the other sites that have been mentioned in this thread yet.

my personal challenges are exercise and water. I have only done about 15-30 mins per day on the exercise bike. And maybe get in 2 eight oz per day. I have not really read anything on water...I know it's supposed to be 8 eight oz per day...so I'm behind in both areas there!

  5. I agree that I thought there would be more active WW threads also. Maybe this one is it..LOL

I think that is wonderful that you know your goal is really 2 lbs per week. I have not gotten that far yet...my Goal is 30 lbs by the end of May...so I'm just going to go with the flow.

Need to still take a break and go exercise...I'm behind on that goal today. Go started with work and pulled in conference calls all morning. Maybe after lunch!

  6. I am only doing the online. I joined this past Thursday, took Fri & Sat to read and gather information and go food shopping.

Today is my first "Official Day". I used 26 out of 30 points for the day...feeling a bit hungry still but it's 9:38pm so I'm not about to get a few last points in.

My biggest challenge will be water. I don't drink hardly anything..my normal (prior to today) was 1-2 cups coffee (Light and sweet), then a glass of milk at lunch, dinner and around 7pm with a snack. Yes, I'm a milk drinker and go through a gallon a week of 2%. So far today I had 3/4 cup coffee (with 1/2 cup water to get it watered down enough for 2 tsp of sugar free creamer and 1 packet of sweet N low) and then 2 glasses of water with grape flavoring (0 points).

My 2nd challenge will be exercise. I work from home and sit infront of the computer for 8.5 hours a day. I have a stationary bike and starting tomorrow I am going to do 15 min breaks throughout the day. Some co-workers take "smoke breaks" so I'll be doing "activity breaks".

Hope everyone is doing well. I thought this thread would be hopping by now!

  7. You all are gonna LOVE me....I have never done any weight loss plan in my life and am going to need all your help (if you don't mind to help that is).

I JUST joined WW (about 10 mins ago) while at my desk at work. I know I have a lot of reading to do online and about to leave work now. So I thought I would jump on here to CC and "see" if anyone had a WW thread.

I have no clue what I am doing and am hoping to me more informed within the next few hours. I just wanted to subscribe and say HI...I'm Kathy from WV and just joined the WW family!

  8. Thank you for posting and letting me know. As of right now I check my flights about once a week and have called once so far because I noticed a rate drop. They gave me a credit of $105..so again...through them the price is still cheaper then if I booked directly.

I'm hoping not to run into any problems (like my flight be cancelled) but I'm glad to hear your experiences and keep my finger on the pulse if something like that happens!

  9. This will be our first time sailing on the ship that has two dining rooms- the Gold Pearl and the Black Pearl. I was wondering if one is specifically for the traditional dining times and the other YTD?

If you do YTD and can choose either...which would you choose and why?

I ask b/c we are considering YTD (as a family of 3) and interested in knowing this info in advance. Thank you!!

  10. Thank you all for your honest opinions and experiences. I might bring all these thing up to DH and see what he thinks. We are normally early diners (5-5:30 dinner at home) so being ready to eat by 5:45 for YTD is right up our alley. I also like the no pressure if we decide not to show and do the Lido one night.

We will be travelling with our son so we won't be looking for a table for 2 anyways. But again, I thank you all for the info!

  11. I have never done YTD nor do I know anyone who has that I can ask. I get the main points of the facts that you can come and eat anytime with the "YTD Hours". And that at times there might be a wait.

On our last cruise we went with family and sat together at assigned table and it worked out fine. Time before that it was just DH & I on our honeymoon and sat at an assigned 10 top and every night one couple seemed to come late, which slowed down dinner for the whole table. DH is really wanting to do a low-key cruising and wouldn't mind missing in the MDR all together. We currently have 6pm set dining. SO please give me any pros or cons to YTD. Thanks!!!

  12. My son just passed me with his Carnival Tumbler while I was browsing through the boards and I was wondering if they still sell these and how much are they now?

If I also remember correctly, they put the soda in a plastic cup and he had to transfer it himself....is that still the same?

    Thanks!

  13. I like to pay things in advance before going on the cruise because it is just less I have to payback on the credit card after the cruise. I have been reading online about Cruise Cash and wondered what you guys thought of it. I do plan on making some purchased before we go (Bottomless bubbles, shore excursions and a spa treatment) since I know those are things that I am planning to purchase anyways.

But was just wondering if anyone ever ran into problems purchasing "'Cruise Cash" and not seeing on their S&S as a credit. I read it is a $500 max. Thanks!

  14. Thank you so, so much for the info!

@MrsCrusinCritter-I see you are from WV aslo! For us- leaving out of CRW always means a connecting flight. We were going to book southwest but hubby was really against a 3 hr drive home (from either Pittsburgh or Columbus). I am hoping to keep an eye on an earlier return flight home but already requested off the Monday after our return to be on the safe side.

    Thanks again for the info.......
