They aren’t giving us pricing, but are saying it should be released on Thursday 25th April.

We really enjoyed - Loen Skylift - need to take shuttle to Loen. You can buy tickets in advance

Lots of hikes at the top - https://www.loenskylift.com/walking-hiking?rq=Hikes

We always ask for a kettle in the room. Don’t always get one, but more often than not, the steward will bring one for us

Going out of Seattle, you will sail round the outside of Vancouver Island. The sea can be rougher and no scenery to look at, compared to the calm waters of the inside passage with lovely island and mountain views.
Princess and Holland America both do Alaska very well, both non-party and adult orientated, but Alaska will get kids on both cruise lines.

Yes the botanical gardens were free.
-
If I remember correctly, the Botanical Gardens were very walkable from the ship.

We did something similar last year. Here are some ideas
Molde
We used http://westnorwaytravel.com
Molde - Get a feeling of the Atlantic Ocean
From my diary - “We had a great day, really enjoyed our hike along the coast and so nice to be in a small group of 20. The tour was also about half the cost of the Princess tour that was on a full coach and didn’t include the hike!”
Honningsvåg
We used https://www.bluepuffin.com
Honningsvåg - North Cape Sightseeing Tour
Stopped at 2 small villages, Skarsvag and Kamoyvaer, as well as The North Cape - great day, still travelled on a coach, but much better than the there and back bus from Princess
Olden

Alesund - 15 Sept 2022 and 27 June 2023
Town is very walkable from the ship
Stairs to Fjellstua viewpoint - 418 steps to the top (or use cable car)
Art Nouveau buildings in town
Not done this, but heard about it on the ship, sounds fun - Green kayak - https://www.greenkayak.org
Free kayaks for litter picking on the water, need to book in advance. 2 hr slots
I did make (long) notes on the trip, it was one of the best trips we have taken. Loen Skylift was the favourite, we left when the top was shrouded in cloud and as the lift ascended it broke through into beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Over the next hour the clouds dissipated and the views were amazing .

Princess, Azamara, Regent and Cunard
check out cruisetimetables.com
You can enter the departure and arrival ports and see all the options
-
If you can manage the walk, it is a nice path along the side of the harbour, you can use the stroller and enjoy the views
-
Not sure of a cc option, but I always look at
-
Room service will also do this for you

We have done this with Princess a few times.
it is run like a regular cruise, lunch in the buffet (on Princess the dining room is open too). in the evening all the specialty dining is open as well as the buffet and main dining room. Breakfast in the morning, dining room or buffet, limited or no room service breakfast (like any other debark day).
There will likely be a number of back to back cruisers onboard, so service carries on.

It might just be lifeboat capacity in that section of the ship. If there are already multiple occupants in the surrounding cabins, even if yours could accommodate another person, they wouldn’t add another person to your cabin if lifeboat capacity has been reached

We always stay at the Days Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Airport. Basic hotel, not near the port, but right on the skytrain, so easy to get to the port on the day

Cabin Number: 7040
Ship: Pursuit
Month/Year Sailed February 2024
Would you choose this cabin again: No
Is noise an issue: Yes
Inside cabin
Any other comments: crew prep area right opposite cabin. Noise from crew, with the door opening increasing noise levels. Often luggage rack left right outside our door, making access challenging.

@Catchum and @Grandma Cruising
We were onboard, looking out at the whales as we approached the harbour. Did you see them, one kept breaching.

We had an amazing day in Cape Town, wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this tour
-
We have done both, but the 26 glacier cruise is very different and by far the best
Island Princess...Electrical outlets.
