  1. We are sailing on the Apex the week before, and I went through a ton of cabin research when we booked last year.... also booked a Sky suite.  We were looking at S1s and S2s, but from what I recall, all of the S3s are in the path of the Magic carpet, and NONE of them have beds that face the balcony, all face the wall in the S3s.  I could be wrong on that, but that's what I remember

If those were my two choices, I would go with 7198.  11160 is on the outside and there is a privacy issue with the side window , people can see right into the balcony

I wouldn't expect a nice Italian Valpolicella or Spanish Tempranillo to suddenly sneak into the wine list!

Boo! ..We'll have to enjoy these wines on our port adventures instead.

I'm also doing the Mediterranean in May and will just purchase wine from a couple of ports.

Having said that you never know with the Apex being new they could have some different wines.

    This is a good idea.

I'm looking forward to sailing on a brand new ship (and reading the reviews from the April and May cruisers!)

  3. I'm enjoying this discussion.

We are sailing this June on the Apex, and I'm wondering if the location (Mediterranean) will make a difference on the wines available?  Or if it's consistent across all Celebrity ships.

It is much easier to get information by calling Celebrity Air than trying to find flights on line. And sometimes the least expensive is 2 one way fares.

I was just going to post the same thing. They are fantastic over the phone, I’ve found it much easier to book that way vs on the website.

We ate there for 2 dinners last week and we’re never offered the MC but we’re quite happy eating indoors.

Thanks, Katie!  So you can dine on the MC when eating at Raw on 5, on a first come first serve basis?
How is the food? My husband is a huge sushi fan, and I like everything else 😊

I would not want to be in an outside S3, rather one of the two interior ones.  There is some privacy issues with the outside cabins.

Can you tell me which cabin this picture was taken from? We’re sailing on the Apex and I’m trying to figure out how close we’ll be to the magic carpet.

  7. We are sailing on Apex this June, and considering dining at Raw on 5.  I’m looking for any feedback on this restaurant and also I’m wondering how it works with the magic carpet.  Does the magic carpet become part of the restaurant, or is it separate?

  8. Congratulations! We are sailing on the Apex in June, it’s our first time with Celebrity and I’m excited about sailing on a brand new ship.

Because Apex hasn’t sailed yet, I’ve been reading threads and reviews from the Edge to have some idea on what to expect. Joining a roll call for your cruise is also a great idea! I would also recommend keeping an eye on the boards for any online sales Celebrity is doing for excursions/use of your onboard credit. I was able to book an excursion I had my eye on at a discount, and get the unlimited photo package half off because of these message boards.

We also ended up booking our flights through Celebrity air (three different phone calls with them, outstanding help and service on all of them) and saved a ton of money. If you still need to book your flights, it’s worth a call to them to compare prices.

  9. I agree with calling them .. I had trouble trying to book online through Celebrity Air, but called, and they took care of everything. I ended up changing our flights, and again they were outstanding over the phone. And because we hadn’t paid anything, we were able to make all the changes without having to pay any additional fees.

The same flights directly through the airline were twice as much.

I have to say don't use a quote on the web site. Call!  The reps are super nice and super efficient. Celebrity Air will notify you by e-mail of any flight changes. You don't have to monitor yourself. I love this buy now pay later feature as well as the super service by phone.

Yes!  They will take care of everything for you over the phone, I was very impressed with their service.  And, we just saved a ton on our flights for next summers cruise.
