We are sailing on the Apex the week before, and I went through a ton of cabin research when we booked last year.... also booked a Sky suite.  We were looking at S1s and S2s, but from what I recall, all of the S3s are in the path of the Magic carpet, and NONE of them have beds that face the balcony, all face the wall in the S3s.  I could be wrong on that, but that's what I remember

If those were my two choices, I would go with 7198.  11160 is on the outside and there is a privacy issue with the side window , people can see right into the balcony

Having said that you never know with the Apex being new they could have some different wines.

We are sailing this June on the Apex, and I'm wondering if the location (Mediterranean) will make a difference on the wines available?  Or if it's consistent across all Celebrity ships.

Thanks! I didn’t realize there were any regular balcony’s on Apex that weren’t suites or sunset verandas.. I was searching for cabin like that when we booked our cruise, with no luck

 I was just going to post the same thing. They are fantastic over the phone, I’ve found it much easier to book that way vs on the website. 

The only S1s with a bigger balcony are the corner aft cabins. The rest are the same size as the S2s, the S1s are in more desirable locations. 
 

Are you asking about the small pole on the balcony?

We are sailing on Apex this June, and considering dining at Raw on 5.  I’m looking for any feedback on this restaurant and also I’m wondering how it works with the magic carpet.  Does the magic carpet become part of the restaurant, or is it separate?

Congratulations! We are sailing on the Apex in June, it’s our first time with Celebrity and I’m excited about sailing on a brand new ship. 
 

Because Apex hasn’t sailed yet, I’ve been reading threads and reviews from the Edge to have some idea on what to expect. Joining a roll call for your cruise is also a great idea! I would also recommend keeping an eye on the boards for any online sales Celebrity is doing for excursions/use of your onboard credit. I was able to book an excursion I had my eye on at a discount, and get the unlimited photo package half off because of these message boards.
 

We also ended up booking our flights through Celebrity air (three different phone calls with them, outstanding help and service on all of them) and saved a ton of money. If you still need to book your flights, it’s worth a call to them to compare prices.

I agree with calling them .. I had trouble trying to book online through Celebrity Air, but called, and they took care of everything. I ended up changing our flights, and again they were outstanding over the phone. And because we hadn’t paid anything, we were able to make all the changes without having to pay any additional fees. 
 

The same flights directly through the airline were twice as much.

I just reserved our flights for our June cruise through Celebrity and she was able to get us seat assignments on every flight, except for one.  Maybe it varies depending on the airline?

Yes!  They will take care of everything for you over the phone, I was very impressed with their service.  And, we just saved a ton on our flights for next summers cruise.

I believe there are some S1s with the bed facing the wall...but they are the AFT S1s with the big balconies.
