  1. Hi folks we are packing for our cruise on NS this weekend and wanted to make sure we remembered to pack beer cozies/koozies. Does anyone know if beer is served in a can, a tin bottle or a glass bottle. We have cozies for all types, but we don’t want to pack what we don’t need.

first world problem I know. But cold beer is imperative 😉

  2. Quick question. Leaving on NS next Sunday. Does anyone know when the activities will show up in the Navigator App under Events?  There’s still nothing there except visit Future cruise folks on the first day at sea. It also still says Smart Casual Dress each day but the boarding pass says 2 Gala Evenings. No idea when/if there are Gala Days and when/if there’s an Orange Night. Is this normal that nothing is on the app yet?

Booked the cabana today for our November cruise on the Rotterdam. Glad I took care of it as almost 50% of them are booked already. And yes, we did get our first choice.

How does one book before the cruise?  Does your cruise have to be paid in full before booking?  Also when does charge apply - when you book or when you sail?

The Elite Package included unlimited non alcoholic drinks on my last cruise on Rotterdam and they had better be included on my next cruise in May! 😉 The screenshot I just posted is on the website right now, today!!  If the bartender doesn't count your drinks correctly, then just produce the website screenshot to get it corrected.  I know, it shouldn't need to be done, but........

    You should be fine!

Thanks Nancy. We’re on NS on Feb 25 so I will keep you updated on what happens!

Elite Beverage Package has unlimited non alcoholic and 15 alcoholic drinks per day per the HAL website right now!

Thanks. That’s what I saw as well. But reading various posts from this fellow cruisers seems to indicate that some ships/passengers are getting different answers once onboard. Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with upgrading drink packages and whether non-alcoholic drinks count towards the 15 drink limit per day.

  6. I’ve been searching for info on this for a while and there seems to be conflicting answers to my question. If you have the Have It All package and you do upgrade from the Signature Drink Package to the Elite Drink Package, does that mean all non-alcoholic drinks (waters, coffee, juices, soft drinks) are not counted towards your daily 15 drink limit per day?  Some say that’s the case, others say it doesn’t matter if it’s water or alcohol, it counts towards your 15 daily limit.

    Welcome to HAL!

Our experience from our last two cruises in 2023......

    Security check

    Passport face scan

    Receive boarding group number

    Sit

    Board when group number called

Scan boarding pass at entrance to ship

Go to room and keycards are waiting

Easy peezy and our experience has been that you keep moving......not much in the way of lines since the streamlined process of face scanning....

    Enjoy the journey........

Thanks! Does sound easy enough. One last question can you take your carry on luggage to your room right away or do you have to wait for an announcement to say that rooms are ready?

  8. We are new to HAL. Boarding NS in Port Everglades at the end of February. How does the whole process work from arriving at port to getting on?  We have done many Princess cruises so we are used to medallion and green/blue lanes. What happens with HAL?

  9. Thanks to everyone who provided input or opinion or recent experiences. We are super excited to get on our ship next week. We just want to be informed and careful as after our two week cruise on princess we have another two week cruise on holland and want to be as healthy as possible for both trips. Safe travels to everyone planning a trip along the ocean!

  10. Hi all, we have been reading recent reviews of folks cruising on Princess who ended up catching covid. This happened to us at the end of our Canada/New England trip in September on Caribbean Princess. We found out once we got home and recovered.

My question is what happens if you get ill while sailing?  Assume you’re tested and quarantined in your room?  What about compensation for missing part of the cruise?  I believe I read somewhere that your ‘missed days’ are 100% refunded. But is that only if you used Princess Travel Insurance?  Can you get off early and fly home?  Anyone have any recent experience with this while sailing?

We are headed on the Enchanted next week and just curious how things work now.

The cabanas were sold out for our cruise as they have been for most of the cruises we've been on. We usually book ours as soon as we have confirmed our cruise booking.

One of the risks you run is that you might lose some cabana time to bad weather. We lost a day and a half. The terms & conditions say that you acknowledge that you are getting the cabanas weather permitting. I'm not sure how they'd handle it if you lost a significant chunk of your paid time.

The normal operating hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our cabana stewards said that we could use them outside of those hours. On other sailings, we were told that you were limited to the hours when the cabana stewards were working.

The orange tote bag in the photo was a Lancome promo from about 25 years ago. It has served us well over the years, but it lacks the splendor of the Club Orange tote.

How does one go about booking one?

  12. Hi all, DH and I leave on our next cruise in 26 days and while some activities such as pickleball and sail away celebration etc have been added, there are still a lot missing such as production shows, dancing, karaoke and movies. On our last cruise (Canada New England in September) everything was posted at the 30 day mark. Does anyone know if a Caribbean cruise is different and when the rest of the activities will be posted. Thanks!

    I’m on board currently.

Entertainment is outstanding but get to theatre early. The shows are all wonderful but standing room only. The bands and other musicians are terrific. Cruise director and team are doing a great job.

Planks and Steamers are open. We have Plus and tried both. Steamers was better than Planks and if you have them included it’s worth trying both.

Enjoyed Crown Grill enough we went 2x.

MDR has been mostly very good. A couple of misses.

    Crew is fantastic as always.

AC is working fine on Deck 11 Aft. I haven’t noticed issues anywhere else.

Do you happen to have the menus for Steamers and Planks that you could share here!?  Thanks so much for the update!
