We stayed at a hotel near the Eye then took the train from Waterloo Station to Southampton. Very easy.

The roll calls for the Circle Caribbean and British Isles cruises we went on were very busy. Lots of private tours coordinated. Lots of gatherings attended.
The roll call for our upcoming Australia/New Zealand cruise is all but a ghost town..

So unfair to exclude paying passengers from an area so that others can utilise it for private use. Absolutely rediculous.
It happens all the time all over the ship.. Not just for Cruise Critic groups.

To Kenswing's question about the Hollywood Conservatory on the Majestic...we just got back from the cruise around New Zealand and 3 ports in Australia (Oct 23 - Nov.5 2018). I thought I had read that there was a fee to use the cabanas around the Hollywood Pool and the adjoining Conservatory BUT on sea days of our cruise I just went fairly early (before 8am ) and chose an empty cabana and made myself at home with my stuff (kind of like being a squatter really) and no one ever asked me for a payment of any kind. There is a policy in the Hollywood Pool area that if you leave a towel on a chair for more than 30 minutes unattended, the towel will be removed and your space is lost. So in order to keep a cabana until we were ready to vacate for the day, either my husband or I stayed in the cabana. We took turns going to get food, etc. and brought it to the cabana with no one objecting...better to ask for forgiveness than permission. This policy may change in the future but we did not have a balcony room so having this opportunity for a free unobstructed view of the ocean was lovely for us.
Thanks for the information..

We haven't seen a towel animal since a 2007 Alaska cruise.

I went from the domestic airport terminal to Darling Harbor in February. Just checked my bill. it was A$52.68.
The return trip from the Hyde Park area to the International terminal was A$36.64
Just to give you some real life prices.
Was that with Uber or a taxi?

Is there Uber transportation from the airport to the circular quay area? I originally booked private transportation but realized it was the wrong day so just cancelled. Now I am looking for less expensive alternatives although I do not want to use the train.
Thanks -
Yes. I just entered going from the airport to the Holiday Inn Old Sydney and the Uber app quoted A$48.89..

The people in New Zealand all the ports we’ve been to have been wonderful warm welcoming and extremely friendly so enjoy the whole trip
Is the Hollywood Conservatory free to everyone or is it like the Sanctuary? Thanks.

The last time we were in a full suite, it was before they had Club Class dining. So, I have no idea what to expect.
Some questions......
1. Is the breakfast perk still in Sabatini's for full suite guests? Or, is the breakfast just with the Club Class dining in a MDR?
2. Is the area set aside for Club Class crowded for dinner?
3. Can you request a table by itself for 2? Or, is it mostly the bench type tables for 2 that are close to the tables next to you?
1. Yes. Breakfast is still at Sabatini's
2. & 3. We never had to wait for CC dining. We almost always ate around 6:00. Always had the same table for two with the same wait staff and it seemed most people sat at the same table every night.
Most tables had plenty of room between them. You weren't stacked on top of each other like the regular dining room.

What is Club Class dining? That is a new term for me.
It is a section of the dining room set aside for people in full suites and Club Class Mini-Suites. It's anytime dining for those folks. Service is arguably better and they'll usually have an item or two exclusive to CC that isn't being served in the main section of the dining room..

CCL stock is down almost $6 per share right now to $57.55 due to a negative profit outlook.
Might be a good chance to buy for those looking to take advantage of the shareholder benefit.

We're going to take the train. You can catch it in the airport terminal and take it to the Circular Quay Station. From there it is a 6 minute walk to the Holiday Inn Old Sydney.
-
Whether it's worth it is up to you.. The share price has been pretty high for awhile now. I probably wouldn't buy at these levels unless I was retired and cruising a lot.
The stock does pay a pretty good dividend and with the OBC you get when cruising you can make a pretty good return on investment if you cruise often.

Dang, we are on the wrong deck, C102 and R614, lol.
Now I wouldn't mind eating some chicken curry, have bought the frozen meals with basmati rice from Trader Joe's.
Which cruise are you in C102? I can't wait to hear how you like it..

We are going to NZ in March 2019, from the San Francisco Bay Area. Should go check the rollcall.
Especially since you started it.. :')

Since this is a "maiden" voyage for Majestic out of Australia early next year, can I assume bulk of the passengers cruising that time of the year be Australians and New Zealanders instead of mainland Chinese? Just curious.
I'm not sure, but we're sailing on a New Zealand cruise on her in March and the roll call is non existent. So there's probably not a whole lot of Americans going..

When you are at the Gardens, check out The Calyx, pollination floral display. It opens at 10 am and there is a cafe there.
Great. Thank you for the tip.

We're probably going to drop off our luggage then walk over to the Royal Botanic Gardens and kill some time there.

Tom you crack me up.. It's Cathay Pacific, not Cathy.. She was the girl you dated in highschool..
And it's Qantas, not Quantas.. lol

Sorry, Now I see what you mean.. Yes, our return window says 11:00. Thanks for the info..Your 6 am docking explains why the 11:20 flight is OK for you.We have 7 am docking. That's why the guidelines say noon, whereas yours, I suspect say 11 am

How do you find the airfares to see if they have went down. I have looked on the site and I can only find my reservation. Not even the prices of what I paid. I'm sure it is easy but I am missing it.
Thanks
Vicki
Go into your Personaliser.. Click on Travel Arrangements.. Then at the bottom click on "Add or Modify Flights" This will show you what you paid.
From that page you can also click "Change Flight"

The train we took from Waterloo Station had a few stops but we didn't have to transfer.
