  1. I was just on the Monarch B2B. I have sailed her many times and always enjoyed the food but I must say this time was OUTSTANDING. They have a new chef on the Monarch. Chef Allan. He was previously on the Explorer. I spoke with him a few times, also the sous chef. The deserts in particular seemed to have improved as well as the windjammer buffet which I normally don't eat at. The buffet was much fresher with lighter options. I was told that RCI had a food team coming in to each ship and that they were relooking at the menu's and selections. As you know they will shortly be all trans-fat free as well.

I am an ex-professional chef myself and VERY picky...

We were on the freedom in Feb and Portofino's was incredible. Can't wait to try the Radiance next month!

  2. I would have the hotel set you up with transportation to the pier. Depending on how many people and luggage a private car or shuttle could work. We used a private limo from Fort Lauderdale to Port of MIA recently and the company was awesome....Holland Limo company.

  3. I'm sorry I can't help you with Seattle as I'm not familiar with available hotels and zones in the Seattle area. The strategy of re-bidding has to do with "free re-bid zones". It is a major component of successful bidding on Priceline.

You can get more detailed information and help about re-bids at either betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com.

Thank you for the info. I will check those out!

  4. If you don't mind bidding (and your reservation is cancellable) I'd suggest trying for a 4* hotel on Priceline. I'm pretty sure you'd get something as nice or nicer than the Listel for less.

I am trying to use priceline to book a hotel in Seattle through priceline and can't figure out how to bid more than once for the same area, 4star...any help???

  5. Do You Know How Far The Resort Is From South Beach? Did There Seem To Be Much To Do Nearby? We'll Be Traveling With 2 Teens. I'm Looking To Book For June And Found A Rate Of $160 Night - Seems Like A Good Rate To Me???

We were there last July with another family and had 3 teens total all 16-18. I agree with everything above. We are seasoned/spoiled travelers and LOVED the Sonesta. For the teens there is a shuttle to south beach or the mall that we felt safe letting them go on their own with schedules and cell phones. If you head north there are some fantastic restaurants.

I wouldn't eat much there as the restaurants were EXTREMELY expensive but we had a bar area with a sink and refer etc and walked accross the street to grab some supplies. We were there about 5 days and that helped.

Oh, they sell a beach activity package, jet skies, parasail, hobie cats etc that paid off well for the teen and the adults enjoyed it also.

The rooms and service, both beautiful.....can you say evian sprits and orange smoothies by the pool boys wandering around??????

Go for it and let us know how you enjoy!

  6. Haven't been on the Radiance yet, but was on the Serenade last month. The Aft balconies are deeper - also I got the answer to my question about the forward balconies on deck 7 and they are also deeper. We lucked out and got 9256 for next year and it does wrap somewhat. Here is a great picture I found on the internet you can see your balcony. It is one of the Radiance class ships and they are all pretty much the same. Really excited about Alaska next year on the Radiance after experiencing the Serenade.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the photo! I printed it and put it in my file....It really shows the differences and congrats on securing 9256!

How was the Serenade? Any tips on cabins there? I would like to book her repo in 2008.
