Was there another change recently that I missed? Just checked my points and they are still the same.
-
Not sure what excursions and where in Alaska but our recent cruise we had some of the best food on excursions. Of course we love most all seafood and from the chowders to the various fish dishes all was great. Even my picky husband enjoyed it.

We will be Diamond after our next cruise and truthfully both DH and I think the way they give points should not only depend on length and/or suite but also for the amount of $$$ spend aboard ship. We have met many who spend nothing once aboard and who took 3 and 4 day cruises to reach Diamond. So why not give points for X amount of $$$ spent IMHO??

We love it and have done it on every cruise that has it.

I'm sure you can ask for one but it might take the bartender a minute to know that it's basically the same as Royal Caribbean's Lava Flow drink. I have never personally heard anyone order a Miami Vice on a Royal Caribbean ship. Order a Lava Flow and see if it compares to a Miami Vice to you. :)
"
We've only cruised Royal and my first "Miami Vice" was on our first cruise, and I order at least one "Miami Vice" on every cruise.

You can order a Miami Vice anytime!! If you haven't had one try a BBC too, Baileys - Banana and Colada mix ..yummy

We bring our own towels. I buy cheapies at the end of the season, have gotten some as cheap as $3.00 up to $5.00 and use them for excursions. We've actually deliberately left them behind when we disembark. I rinse them off and either put them in shower to dry or on the balcony chairs if we plan on using them again.

We always dress for formal nights, my DH brings his tux and I bring long formals. It makes for special nights;)

It's great that so many people love to cruise, but I'm amazed at how many hate to fly.
It's not that we hate to fly, it's more the cost of flying these days. I would rather spend the $$$ on my cruise then giving it to the airlines when possible.

Sorry, what do you mean? :)
Sorry I was told that RCCL was listing the cruise schedule for the Quantum and some TA's were booking cruises. I just looked at the site again and very few listed, mostly end of 2014 and early spring 2015.

Hate to say it but our experience on the Oasis for New Years was not enjoyable. It was out of Fort Lauderdale and NEVER have we experienced such rude passengers and I don't mean just a few!! Even the staff we talked to said the same. We only ate in the dining room once because of it. I hope your cruise is a better experience!!

We did the 10 day cruise tour on the Radiance June 28 out of Vancouver and LOVED every minute of it.
-
Capris are fine!
-
Cruises are being listed on the RCCL site and some TA's I noticed.

We love to cruise and driving to a port enables us to do that more but then again we are loyal to Royal and have flown to other ports a few times. There is always something new to see and do at ports.

Didn't know CC had deck plans... guess I better do some searching!

Hey seasoned travelers, looking for the names of some reputable, safe, and tried-and-true private excursion vendors in both Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Jamaica.
I have heard that the private excursions tend to be a bit less expensive and a bit more "flexible" in what you want to do. Really want to make sure that whomever we use, they are reputable, safe and if you have used them - that you would use them again.
Thanks for the input! We are starting to get VERY excited!!
In Jamaica we have used Marva Shaw twice, found her on CC and we will most likely be using her again in Jan. http://www.knowjamaica.com/en

Not sure about the Caymans but see the other posting I made

We always tip our room steward extra and normally on the first day we slip him something. We like having ice in our rooms all the time and not have to ask for it and because my DH has a sleep apnea machine, it can get in the way and they are good about moving it. The same for our dining staff, if they are entertaining, remember your likes and do little extras then they too get extra. We do the prepaid as well and envelopes are provided as well.

Besides my DH an over the door shoe holder! I was told of this after our first cruise and have taken one on every cruise and it does come in handy for all the little things as well as an easy "grab and go" for daily things.

92 and 197!!

I have a binder that has all docs in it, copies of PP, list of excursions, reservations etc. I try to keep the daily Compass and make notes for future info. I have a binder for each cruise we've took. An over the door shoe holder for all the grab and go items. Stick-em notes come in handy if you need to leave a message/request for your room attendant. And the most important item, my DH!! ;)

I have only read on a cruise once and it was on our last one to Alaska. I read a book that was written by someone we met on one of our cruises. It was her first published book. It's called Cruising Strangers, by Lezlie K King. It's a murder mystery. You can get in on Amazon. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Formal is not so "formal" anymore. We enjoy dressing formal, long dress for me and a tux for my DH plus my DH looks so handsome in his tux:) We don't think shorts or jeans with holes in them even if the cost $100.00 ;) are appropriate. We took our nephews 16 and 18 on their first cruise last year an they opted to wear a tux, their choice and they even enjoyed it.
Be comfortable but not too comfortable :p and enjoy your cruise.
Formal Night & Getting Dress Up ?

We dress formal because we enjoy it. To us it is all part of a cruise experience.
