  1. Hi Everyone Thank you all for your input and response to my original question. I checked our preliminary documentation yesterday as suggested by @johng75370 and the updated information is:= MONTREAL Montreal Ship to Montreal Airport Group Transfer: You will be transferred from the ship to the airport. If you have a Seabourn-booked flight departing after 3:00 PM you will be brought to an interim location to wait for your flight. If you have a Seabourn-booked flight departing between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM you will receive a meal voucher for use at a restaurant or hotel. If you have a Seabourn-booked flight departing after 6:00 PM you will receive hospitality accommodations. You will be provided with further details when you receive your disembarkation information while on board the ship. I guess we will wait and see! FWIW our flights were approx £2,000 less using FE and for our October cruise approx £3,000 less. I will however continue checking them.
  2. Hi everyone. Looking for some advice for those of you who have booked flights via Seabourn. We will be disembarking Seabourn Quest in Montreal and our flight home is at 11pm. Has anyone had experience of how Seabourn will handle this on the day? E.g. Do they use a day room at an airport hotel? Would there be somewhere to store luggage? We are trying to work out if we should try and get an earlier flight or if we should make private arrangements to get to the airport and book a private excursion. Any suggestions or advice most welcome.
  3. I didn't see anyone snorkelling that day so not sure if Seabourn provide equipment. You could use the kayaks and there was a banana boat. Maybe someone else will chime in to confirm. You will love it though!
  4. Cruiseryder - there is someone on your Roll Call looking for people to join them on a private tour. Have you noticed this? If anyone would like to join us for a private tour in Da Nang and Hoi An for $120 usd pp
  5. Sorry our cruise did not have a stop in Da Nang , so have no experience on this port (with Seabourn). We have docked there before but had a private day excursion to Hoi An and the Marble Mountains (great tour). A quick search says the port and and Da Nang is approx 35 minutes and 20 km away so not walkable. I imagine that they may put on a shuttle, but not sure if you would take a chance on waiting to find out? What I can tell you you is........... you are in for a treat in Ko Kood - one of the best days ever. Heaven!
  6. Hi. Please take a look at a company called Ann Tours. We used them for 5 days in Cambodia and they were superb, but we know people who have also used them for Shore Excursions who recommended them to us in the first place. For Sihanoukville they offer 4 different shore excursions. They are also based in Vietnam, so they would certainly help with any trips there. They are very approachable and helpful, so if you drop them an email they will come back with suggestions for you. Just give them the dates and times the ship is in port and they will do the rest. We have always dealt with someone called Tony. I am sure they would also be able to help with Hoi An too. Hope this helps!
  7. We were on the Encore in February. A free shuttle was provided from the port to Pattaya right in the central shopping area. The journey was around 30 minutes each way. I think they ran every hour.
  8. Check out a company called Ephesus Shuttle. We used them for both group tours and private tours in both Kusadasi and Istanbul. Both were excellent. For Ephesus I would recommend one that includes the terrace houses.
  9. Here are a couple of photographs we took of The Encore docked in HCMC prior to us leaving our hotel day room for our flight home.
  10. We disembarked the Seabourn Encore in HCMC in February 2023. The ship docked downtown right in the centre. When I checked Whats in Port to find out the name of the wharf the site says ships use one of 2 ports Tan Cang Cai port or nha rong wharf but the actual one is not allocated until 24 hours before the ships arrival. The Encore is showing as being there on 24 February. https://www.whatsinport.com/Ho-Chi-Minh-City.htm
  11. Hi - yes thank you @ropomo this is what I was referring to. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using this studio/service and the approximate costs involved e.g. is there a charge for using the studio, getting advice/support or just for the prints? I read somewhere that the photo team shoot / record your expedition and you can buy this (memory stick???) from Silversea instead of creating your own. Has anyone used this service and does anyone know approximate cost? Many thanks
  12. Hi - can you give me any info on the Photography Academy room on the Wind (if it does / does not exist)? This would be a great help in us deciding on what cameras to bring. Also, as we have never sailed Silversea before, how do we pre-order drink setup in our suite? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi - We are on from 1st to 19th December. We received notification about the hotel via email on 7th September and our itinerary was updated a few days later. We are doing Door to Door with Silversea. The boots, waterproof trousers etc are now available for us to rent. The boots are $90 + $100 refundable deposit and the trousers are $48 + $60 refundable deposit. You click on the link within "important information" in your booking to rent or buy. Do you happen to know anything about the on board photography academy?
  14. Hi! This will be our first trip on Silversea and first trip to Antarctica December 2023 - so want to get it right! I have been trawling the pages of CC and have managed to get answers to most of my questions. There are a couple of things I am still not sure about so any help would be appreciated. 1) The Photography Academy - is it available on Silver Wind? If so, does anyone know approximate prices involved? Does anyone have good (or negative) experience of this? 2) Silversea has recently changed our Pre and Post hotel from Mandarin Oriental to Hotel W in Santiago. Does anyone have good (or negative) experience of this hotel? 3) Does Silversea offer any dining at the hotel Pre/Post cruise. When I originally booked, the agent said that normally there is a pre-cruise dinner at the hotel, however I am now being told this is when sailing on the Endeavour only. 4) When staying in Santiago, do we require local currency for incidentals, tipping etc or will we exchange our Scottish money for English pounds or US dollars? Many thanks in advance
