Ah, we looked very good in our formal attire, but those days are sadly behind us.........😪

Same with us even though we could carry as much clothing as we want.

The days of dressing up for dinner is long past especially if you're they type that cruises often. Let the younger folks enjoy their moment & we'll just merge into the background and enjoy ourselves.

We always take cash with us to leave for the waiter.  It says gratuity is included but we like to reward a hard working knowledgeable server.  And it is always appreciated

I'l always wondered when giving cash for an extra tip if it goes into the ships pool or do the waiters in the Crown Grill have their own separate pool?

I know they do like it to be cash and not added to the tab.

    Comments?

I agree with this assessment.  The steak is definitely better than the MDR, but doesn’t rise to the level of a fine steak house like Ruth’s Chris.

    Defitnely.

It might not be worth the $29 upcharge but having a BOGO coupon is fine with me.

Just don’t throw a fit if he is turned around at the door and told to change or go to the buffet

After what I saw on the Regal during Jan/Feb they don't turn away anyone in shorts no matter how ratty or ill fitting.

I would just love to see an example of the shorts that would be turned away.

Just to update everyone, I’m On the Royal now and the Passenger Service Desk gave me $36.58 Goodwill Credit to my shipboard account.  My cards were ten years old but they were purchased not given as an elite benefit.  I’m happy.

Way to go ! Glad they did something positive for a change.

How would they have known if you received them as Elite of bought them for cash?

Saw shorts in the dining room several nights on the Feb 2nd Regal cruise.

I posted the photo's yesterday for proof of what's being allowed on the Regal but there now gone.

Either way, they do say no shorts in the patter but there's nothing posted at the entrance to the DR doors any longer so people do wear them.

We went to Sabatinis for dinner at 7:30 and that was a 2 hour event.  We haven't been for ages and decided to give it a try with the new menu.  We were... underwhelmed.  I got the cheese fondue and didn't realize it was going to be a watery soup... and I got the veal scallopini and it was OK, smothered in a brown sauce.  Ugh.  The DH got the pork tenderloin and said it was overcooked and dry.  We got the trio of deserts which were presented beautifully but mostly tasteless.  DH got the tiramisu and we've never seen anything like it.  It came out in a roll and was mostly a creamy cheese in the middle and didn't taste a thing like tiramisu.

I hope enough people avoid Sabatini's in the future until they bring back the old menu from last year. At a repeaters party not that many people indicated that they liked the new menu so there might be hope after all.

I noticed that when the steward was done making up the cabin, the card in the slot for electric was pulled and placed at a diagonal in the slot turning off the electric in the cabin.  This also turns the AC off.  (I was annoyed as I was trying to recharge my tablet with the Medallion Class Apps while off ship but it never charged with the power turned off.)  If you have a balcony and don't close the light blocking drapes, the strength of the Caribbean Sun makes it more difficult for the AC to cool the cabin down.

We had an inside cabin which didn't have the heating problems like a balcony. The AC never shut off even if the card was pulled out by the steward. If we had the thermostat set to max it would be at 68 degrees when returning to the cabin at night.

Our outlets would also stay energized- we alway keep our nightlight on.

    Welcome to Cruise Critic.

    The program is long over.

I had quite a few unused cards that I just never used and accepted the fact that they are no good anymore.

You are on a cruise that costs thousands of dollars and you are groveling for a few free coffees.

Bite the bullet and buy a new package.

If they'll still accept the old cards I don't see any reason why not using them.

We just returned last month from a b2b on the Sky Princess.  I have never seen as many men wearing shorts and a t-shirt on any given night (smart casual or formal) as I did on that cruise.  The dress code has been totally rewritten by passengers and they will wear whatever they want.

That seems to be the trend on most of the Princess ships lately. They don't like to confront any of the passengers no matter how their dressed- not that it makes any difference to me.

Does anyone know if you can get an extra room key on a Medallion class ship?

I forgot my Medallion on day on the Regal & requested a temp card to get back into my room. They said it would only be good for one time but it worked for weeks after.

You'd be surprised what photos people post here.

I suppose I cold post it & they'll remove it if they think it's inappropriate.

I would be ashamed to be seen in public with these shorts on but it goes to show that Princess now allows just about anything that people choose to wear to the DR.

As far as the World Fresh Market Place goes, I was very disappointed with pretty much everything.  The layout was sometimes confusing.  The overall quality of the food was bad.  I have a big thing about hot food being hot and hot dishes in the WFMP were slightly warm at best.  The selections were very repetitive as I saw the same items pretty much everyday.  I know food is a very subjective issue but these were my personal observations.

That's the same way we felt about the food on the CB.

I'm now wondering if it's a common occurrence to all the World Fresh Market Place ships? It's one of the main reasons we'll never return to the CB no matter what the price until I hear of them changing things around.

I had planned on bringing a few pairs of capris to wear in the dining room on Sky Princess Feb 22 on smart casual nights.  Will they be ok with a nice top, or do I need pants?  Are men allowed to wear dress shorts on smart casual nights?  I have dresses for formal nights.  I see no mention of capris in Princess FAQs.  Thank you!

Capri's are fine in the DR on casual evenings on all the Princess ships. That's all my wife even wears unless she's cold & then wears her jeans.

There seems to be a new unspecified dress code for the DR's that allow just about anything you choose.

Just this past week even shorts were allowed on the Regal without question...Although I saw a few women that shouldn't be allowed to wear them ever. When I saw that some of them were wearing I couldn't believe my eyes as we were leaving the DR one night. There was one gal I never though that would be admitted & I even waited until she entered thinking she would be turned away.

It was so unbelievable I even snapped her photo but I don't think they would allow me to post it here on CC.
