  1. Very nice review! We are booked on our first Disney cruise and I'm glad to see someone's opinion who has been on other lines, NOT just Disney. We are Disney people, but I was looking at Carnival til Igot her passport (LONG story) and I went crazy and booked Disney again since I had booked it originally in 2014.

Hopefully we will enjoy it. My daughter is 5,so I am sure she will!

  2. That new cruiser can still dream about going to Europe. In addition to more established cruise lines in Europe sailing at a fraction of Disney prices, Carnival is launching their brand new Carnival Vista during the spring 2016 starting with a European season. Prices are currently starting at $699. For a brand new ship with a new design and tons of amenities sailing in Europe, that's a steal!

Yes, I know that I may be insulting some people who'll say "how dare you compare Disney to Carnival?!?!" but let's be realistic here!

Not to me. I cruised Carnival more than Disney. I actually chose Disney because I have a daughter now and wanted to try it. It will probably be our last though. I teach and I can't go in the off season because I have to work!LOL!

  3. This was just a 3 day so we didn't do any excursions unless you count our day at CC which seemed to be very safe.

I would have done Atlantis but both of us have already been there. I might do it again on a longer cruise. I would just do ship sponsored excursions for safety reasons.

On the ship itself, I felt very safe, it's a very family friendly atmosphere, good ol' wholesome disney fun (maybe too wholesome..lol)

I didn't do any of the night clubs as I wanted this trip to be about her and I (I stopped doing night clubs years ago so it's not like I was giving anything up.)

We're booked on 3 cruises this year, two of which will just be here and I and they are longer cruises...so this trial cruise was a success.

So glad to hear this! Maybe after her 1st cruise, she and I can leave Auntie home and it can just be us. :)

    LOVE the pictures too!

  4. On 7 night cruises there are series of educational events--a 3 part cooking series (one each on dessert' date=' entree, and appetizer), classes on table decoration, napkin folding, etc. As noted, there are various wine, whiskey, tequila, etc. tastings for a small fee. There are also various adult activities through out the day and the nightclub area is adult only after 9 pm. There are adult variety shows, themed dance parties, etc. every night![/quote']

    Wow, that sounds really nice!

  5. I'll be able to answer this next year. For the price I am paying, I could go on Carnival with a balcony! LOL! I've only cruised on Carnival, so it that's where I looked first. LOL!

I only chose Disney because I have a daughter, 3 now, so I tried to get something we both would like- cruise for me and sort of Disney World for her.

    Hopefully we both love it.

  6. So glad to read this! We went to Disney last year and I enjoyed it, but I was SO tired. I didn't get to relax any, felt like I was constantly moving. May have been my own fault for trying to see everything. LOL!

I'm sure a cruise will be a lot more relaxing! Also glad to hear how dining will be set up. I didn't want to be the only single mom/single passenger at dinner.

  7. REALLY excited to see this! I have a Disney cruise booked for April 2016, but I'm nervous.LOL! I have a 3yr old, will be 4 then, so it's mostly so we get Disney and a cruise for me! We went to the parks for the 1st time and it was just tiring. Maybe it's because I didn't want to miss anything. I'm a single mom, so it was easier staying in a Disney hotel and not having to drive back and forth to a hotel and dinner, etc but it was still tiring. I'm hoping this isn't so tiring. I know how relaxed cruises are!

  8. This thread got me to thinking about my dad. He died when I was 22.(I'll be 26 this month!:) ) But he always like to go places on family vacations- to Florida, the mountains, etc.

I thought about him on the 1st cruise my sister and I went on. I just wondered what he would think about his 2 daughters out in stingray city with these animals!LOL! I am sure he would have laughed and said those are his girls.
