  1. Celebrity on Anytime dining puts you in the same section with the same waiter anyway. You may not get the exact same table but often do, if not you aren’t far from it. We usually show up at a similar time though, if your schedules widely differ maybe this is different but has been our experience on several cruises. I don’t think showing up at 6:30 or 7 would be a problem but it gets busier close to 7 so you might have a brief wait if that’s your preferred time. If 6 just feels too early then it’s not really a problem to just go with the unset time of Anytime. I do not even make reservations on Anytime, we have never had a problem getting seated when we show up which is usually early, closer to 6. But whenever we have gone later there’s two lines, one for reservations and one for without. The no reservations line is usually shorter and will get seated just the same as the reservations line. We just see no point in making a reservation, it’s never made any difference at all on any of my sailings. If you feel more comfortable making a reservation for 7 pm just in case it’s not like it costs anything to do so but once on the ship you’ll likely see it’s pointless.
  2. Someone else shared this where you can see how long they actually plan for each promo to last https://www.thecelebritycommitment.com/offers-rewards/
  3. Is it typical to have every category above yours available to bid on or are some of you only seeing certain categories with availability?
  4. Is every category available to you to bid on regardless or only the ones with availability? On my sailing it looks like very category above a veranda is open for bids including the ultra deluxe family veranda, I’d like to bid on that one but won’t bother if there really isn’t availability.
  5. I’ll preface this by saying we generally eat around 6pm no later than 6:30 and have no issue getting a table for 2. When we have gone later there are two lines, reservations and no reservations and the latter is usually a shorter line and gets served quicker. I’ve never seen a need to make reservations so I just don’t make them. I agree with the suggestion if there’s something in particular you’d like to have arranged ask then to set it up. But otherwise there’s no need to stress over any sort of reservations for the MDR.
  6. Sounds like you really do want the aft facing cabin. For me what would make the decision is to see how flights are priced for the two. It’s a little early for the August flights to be available to check right now however but I’d guess they’d be more expensive in August. If you went with the April one you could always keep an eye out for an aft cabin or for an upgrade so it’s not like you are locked out of it completely. But if it’s the cabin that’s the most important then you have your answer 😉
  7. I echo the use of Verizon’s travel pass if it’s just a couple of days. You need to make sure this is enabled on your account and then it just pops up as a text when you try to use data in the foreign country just letting you know each 24 hour period will cost $10. Very simple. If you don’t think you absolutely need phone service while out and about just using the hotel’s wifi should suffice as well to catch up on all emails, Facebook, Google, etc.
  8. On my sailing there was only one bus to Miami so they waited for everyone to board. I believe it was close to 9:45 am before we departed.
  9. It’s day 5. Look in the daily planner, at 5 pm it says “tonight’s attire” and that day it says evening chic.
  10. Pretty funny if they go back to the original Nov 3 TA itinerary after cancelling all those bookings.
  11. I hadn’t booked but was interested in that Nov 9 TA on Apex, the price was really good but there were a lot of available cabins. Wasn’t it originally supposed to sail from Southampton on like Nov 3, I was looking at that too. Are they going to reinstate the original itinerary? Is it normal to have this many itinerary changes and cancellations?
  12. It looks to me like celebrity is in the process of changing all their menus. If kids or dessert starts at the top they’ve deleted the old menu and will eventually put the new menu at the bottom.
  13. I believe the early seating is 6 pm officially although I’ve seen the restaurants open as early as 5:30. With anytime we’ve always still been assigned seating within a certain section so the waiters are generally the same and the tables we are seated at may vary but are always in close proximity. We also don’t reserve a time to eat at the MDR and haven’t had issue getting seated but we usually eat around 6 to 6:30. It seems busier around 7 so if that’s the time your group settles on then a reservation couldn’t hurt but we just never found much need for a reservation time at the MDR. If there’s a crowd they form two lines, reservations and non reserved and the lines get served the same or there’s fewer people waiting in the no reservations line lol. If you want flexibility to eat with another party I would go with anytime, there’s really no downside going that route.
  14. Celebrity’s pricing is illogical and often the discount percent doesn’t match the actual discount. Sometimes two device upgrade or plan is cheaper than buying two individual ones, here it’s not. There’s no reason for it.
  15. Seems to be that is because they deleted the existing MDR menus and are rolling out the new menus with the “timeless” and regular sections combined meaning there’s only about 3-4 new options each night.
  16. What’s concerning is the Murano menu is not accessible on Celebrity’s website right now.
  17. We find the cakes to be very dry. Some desserts are hit and miss. Anything that’s mass produced in the galley is going to have limitations, my expectations were never high to begin with but yeah I very rarely go for any of the cakes.
  18. Not at this property in particular but any FLL airport hotel you are getting what you pay for. If you are good with that and it’s only one night then you know that going in.
  19. It was fine for one night. The hotel is nice in parts and not in others, a very cobbled together type property. I was hoping to arrive early enough to use the nearby water taxi but we did not. I wouldn’t pay extra for this property but I wouldn’t avoid it either. The location is very close and nice enough. I will say I had an absolutely bizarre experience with their transportation to the cruise pier which was part of my booking. It was eventually sorted out but the man at the front desk was apparently completely unaware they offered such a thing despite being literally across the street from the massive cruise pier and I’m going to bet I wasn’t the first hotel guest who had this as part of their booking (I book everything direct and myself so this wasn’t a Expedia, cruise line or TA mix up). If it’s not part of your booking it’s $8 per person, btw. Imo only the Princess pier which is the closest to the hotel is walkable but it’s not out of the question to just walk to your specific terminal though.
  20. Typically your first and one of the last sea days are the chic nights. Day 2 is very common and if they can manage it the second to last night but depending on port schedule could make them flip flop it. Usually when you see lobster on the menu in the MDR in your ap that’s going to be the second chic night. I guess my question is does this pattern hold for the longer cruises, 17+?
  21. I noticed there’s a $12 pina colada on the menu at the sunset bar, which obviously wouldn’t be covered. The pina coladas I always got were made the same way as daiquiris with the frozen drink mix and I’d be surprised if those aren’t still under the limit. Seems like many things might really depend where/who you ask.
  22. I don’t want to start a whole thread on this but applies to the topic at hand. I’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on the MDR menus in the app as I’m curious how it’s going to look for my upcoming 17 night sailing. Yes I know the app is notoriously wrong and the placeholder menu for my sailing is nowhere close to accurate, what I’m looking for are updated menus on current sailings. I’ve noticed most ships (I’m not looking at the Edge class as I’m not sailing on one but otherwise) have now transitioned to the eliminated timeless appetizers and entrees section and now have them combined with the nightly offering only giving 3-4 new items in each course per evening. Also the up charge for steak, lobster and surf and turf are there. I’ve also noticed the silhouette has better food/more choices and still does for some reason.
  23. I don’t see it as very difficult. “Hey this is a lovely location on this cabin don't you think, did you have to book it early like we did or can you get these last minute?” Is not an inquisition. But I agree, the TA who made the booking is probably the source for this difficulty.
  24. I had no idea Lawn Club was so popular, why?
