Are they part of the Spa or just in the regular change rooms?
-

Brilliant...Thank you

ACTIVE ISLAND awesome in St. Thomas...St. Maarten, follow the path down to the boardwalk and run along that, cpl of loops you can get some good mileage in...
-
Aloha,
great pics, we are there in February...Can I share your pics with our group we are traveling with?
Thanks
Craig

All the same size, just different stages of construction, see this pic;
Thanks for all the pics...We've got a large group (over 200) on the Getaway next February and we have to coordinate some activities and these pics are helping a lot...Much appreciated

Agree with Anthony...Royal and Regal tracks are awesome...Long, winding road and wide too so you can keep your tempo...Not so fun into a head wind but the views make up for it.

Look at http://www.undertoemexico.com Family run and awesome conditions to learn in with a protected reef...Trust me

Shame really...I miss the days where you'd have a steam and sauna in both change rooms with adequate facilities in terms of showers and change rooms...I would go and get all my stuff done up there so the family could relax in the room and not have me hovering over everyone asking who was next for the bathroom...Seem to be pushing everyone to buy the thermal suite pass which I did and it is worth it but I miss the other stuff

Aloha,
Just off the Getaway and being a lover of good food, these are my opinions:
1. Cagney's-our fave for service and quality...Great ambiance where you can actually have a conversation with people and loved the open concept kitchen to watch the chef's...Great wine list as well
2. Teppanyaki-Loved the food, the chef was hilarious and very engaging...The kids would love it
3. Moderno-great selection of meats-the garlic mash potatoes are to die for!!! It is a ton of meat though so be careful of what you do after-you'll be in a bit of a food coma for a while after this one.
4-Le Bistro-small, elegant, and good dinner...French Onion soup was scrumptious
Sorry but did not like Tratoria-Italian, was expecting a lot more, service was meh, and they could have had a lot more on the menu.
DO NOT miss Burn the Floor-best dancing we've see this side of Dancing With The Stars-INCREDIBLE

I am a runner, I log about 30 miles per week. By the time my ship gets to Costa Maya it will be the 4th stop and quite frankly I know Costa Maya is a beach-town. Uinless you like shopping or sitting on the beach then there just aint anything to do! And before you comment on this I like extreme adventure stuff, I don't really care for looking at ruins.
I don’t care about shopping, and living in Florida I get plenty of sun and “beach” at our clean, safe, and relaxing Water Parks (Typhoon Lagoon kicks butt!).
I am looking for advice on anywhere I might log a quick and easy 5 mile run? It could be less but 5 miles is pretty short to begin with. Does anyone know of a safe route or way to go?
I know I can take a taxi from the cruise port to the beach, is this a route that involves a sidewalk that I could run on?
Did you ever get that run in on Costa Maya and what was it like?
Thanks

I know Spartan does their race there...Can anyone tell me if there is a trail on the island and what the distance is please?
Thanks

How about Great Stirrup Cay. I heard there were running trails there? Can we get a good run in on that island?

does the Getaway have steam rooms and saunas in the changerooms or do you have to pay to use the spa? Thanks

Excellent feedback everyone and thanks so much...I've got a fairly large group of runners on there next February so just looking for the details on our two days at sea...Not real worried about the first day as it's a recovery day from the Ft. Lauderdale A1A Marathon on the Sunday! Awesome!
How about the gym? Feedback on that?

Hi all,
Is there a running track on the Getaway and what's it like?
Thanks

Hey Craig,
I'm glad you enjoyed the review and pics!
Maybe the way to share the pics would be to include the link on your website. I certainly don't mind if you do that.
Ernie
Thx I will put up on the RFFC page today. Already shared with our Running group and they'll love it! Talk soon

That would be great...Really appreciate that, it would give our runners something else to look at other than pre-produced marketing shots lol...Wicked thx

We just came off a running cruise...They've got another one planned for Next Feb tied in with the Ft. Lauderdale A1A Marathon then run/race on Grand Cayman, Ochos Rios, Cozumel, and Great Stirrup Cay...Run For Fun Cruise
:)

Thank you! That's what I'm talking about. I have only cruised on Princess Grand class ships and they have a continuous Promenade deck that you can walk and circumnavigate the ship. You have to walk up stairs around the front of the ship but that gives you a little more exercise. Doing laps around the ship on at sea days is one of my main pleasures in cruising. :)
Love the post...I too feel the same running in the morning as the suns coming up...Sea air, fresh breeze, sailing away from reality and a good run starts my day off perfectly...Love it

Was a little pricey for us since we weren't able to devote the time to really appreciate however, having said that, if you do have the time to spend down there, it would be worth it in spades...So beautiful and the steam-WOW! I'd do it!

We do a running cruise...Run the A1A Marathon in Ft. Lauderdale then board the ship and run at each port...Keeps the weight off and we're runnin' with like minded people like us.:)

Perfect, thanks Bob
It's a beautiful thing to go and spend some time there pre dinner dress up so the girls can have the cabin and no one is tripping over themselves...Quite the respite before getting all gussied up
