Most of it does seem to be getting posted to Facebook too, if you’re not an Instagram user...
Note that I really dislike most social media platforms, so I don't have a dog in this fight ...But if you search for the hashtag #virginvoyages on Instagram you get a lot more content. They have several members of the team/crew running different 'stories' and narratives, and that hashtag picks up more of them. Just a random example, but here's a tattoo one of the members of the IT staff got from the onboard tattoo parlor:
I never would have seen this otherwise.
Of course, the #virginvoyages tag also gets you a lot of travel agent posts, but I've just been blocking them as I find them. -

I read the article and it explains the correlation between lower birth rates and poor economic conditions. Another article on the same website notes that Millennial's are "one of the poorest generations in years." This is attributed to student debt and poor credit. And both of those reasons are cited in the article you mention as reasons why Millennial's are deferring both marriage and having children.
So... in very general terms... broke Millennial's don't have kids nor money to take a VV cruise. And Millennial's who are financial secure more likely have children.
Of course there are financially secure Millennial's without children who are candidates for VV. But readings suggest this is not the norm.
You ignored all the other reasons they aren’t having kids, but ok ...

Millennials are the largest living generation (overtook Boomers in 2019). To speak about them, their income, their family size in broad swaths is a fruitless exercise. This ship holds 2,800 passengers, there are probably enough high-income, children-less millennials to keep the boat afloat. That said, I doubt their target is a single age cohort. It is most likely a combination of primary and secondary targets that includes non-cruisers, experienced cruisers who want something different and more modern, couples, and solo travelers. As they expand, they will likely expand their target audience. They've even said so much.
-A marketer who is also a millennial.
The “broke millennial” stereotype also overlooks the number of them in STEM fields.

Another case against Millennial's is that they are of child-bearing age. There's a good chance that if they have disposable income, they have started a family, making VV unsuitable for a family vacation
But less chance than you think:https://www.moneyunder30.com/are-millennials-really-having-fewer-kids

Why?
You don’t. They’re just doing a lot of visually-oriented marketing on Instagram. -

Cruise Critic posters skew older so your data is already compromised...

I can’t emphasize strongly enough that they are really using Instagram for a ton of stuff. It’s worth signing up an account and just checking it out. Some things will require you to be signed in.
Then search #virginvoyages in the search window, with the hashtag.
SO much stuff and a lot of it, especially videos, is difficult to bring over.

Thanks for the find! Very interesting that was released under the "Virgin Voyages Crew" and not the main instagram account. I guess they want to keep it very low-key since Wendy Williams was such a big splash announcement when they introduced her.
I found it odd that in all the videos leading up to and including the sail out yesterday we never saw the captain, only the President of the cruise line.
I’m naive enough that I half noticed but thought something like “oh the captain must be busy”. 🙂

Looks like Captain Alan MacAry at least for now.

Formerly of Marella and Windstar. Maybe temp, or maybe they’re just keeping it low key since losing a diversity captain is a little sad for their goals/branding.

Very interesting. So I guess *someone* must be interim captain right now?

It seems like they are leaning heavily on Instagram for today's stuff.

"Passenger Matt Smith, who has been keeping USA TODAY up to date on the situation on the ship, said the captain made an announcement that they would begin that process by removing 11 passengers from the ship Friday afternoon, local time."
So it seems a few more probably got off earlier today (local time). And it seems no new cases reported for Feb 14 (for context it is now Feb 15 local time/past midnight there), or else they just haven't released the numbers yet.- 1

Hah!
I mean, this experience isn't making me like social media (or Instagram) any better, but I've been super hype about VV ever since it was announced, so I'm desperate for content.
