  1. In most cases, they will reprice the cabin and as a results be more money.  I would just leave it alone with a no-show.  You will get the port & tax fees back to the original payment form after the cruise.  You can just have an extra room key made for your daughter to be able to enter the cabin and the room steward will set up the beds however you need.  They don't care how/where you sleep.

Two return trips from Rome and the lines were looooooong.  Last return trip I was talking to a guy in the bar at the Atlanta airport layover heading back to LAX.  Mentioned the very long lines at FCO and he said.... why didn't you use fast track.  DUH, never heard of it and have not been to Rome since..

Thanks for this info.!  We have a cruise booked out of Rome for July 2024 so I am saving this.

We kept our phones on airplane mode while at sea between islands but, whenever we were in port, we took it off and used our phones normally. We never used wi-fi calling so I really can't speak to that- sorry. Have a wonderful time!

Thank you!  The reason I ask is that when we cruise the inside passage in Alaska we could see land on either side and we had cell reception almost the entire time.  I wasn't for sure if when cruising around the islands if land was close enough to count (cell towers).

I'm confused.  You don't like Bulleit?  I'm guessing that the "included" would be Jim Beam, but you really don't want that, do you?  Jack Daniels is included, but that's not legally Kentucky Bourbon as I understand it.

Really don’t like Jim Beam (except for the Green Apple flavor) even though  it’s like 20 minutes from my house. Woodford Reserve or Angels Envy are two of my favorites along with Bradshaw and Lincoln. We live in the heart of the Bourbon Trail.

I believe that Bulleit has also gone to the $16 level.  Just take the FAS drink package, order your fine bourbon and enjoy life.  Nowhere else are people on vacation so concerned about that single extra dollar.

Well I just thought I would try the one that is included. As far as bourbon goes, we are more selective as we are from the Bourbon capital of the world 😉.

  6. Thanks for the review!  We will be POA mid-January.  I was able to make our specialty dining reservations with our NCL travel agent.  I emailed him just to ask to see if it was possible or not and he called me and we got it booked.  This will be our first time in Hawaii and have all our excursions booked.  I suppose we are as ready as possible.

Wow!   We have used these tests 4 times now and never waited more than one minute for a proctor….

Glad to hear this as I was about to stress out more thinking it would take over an hour and a half to do that eMed proctored testing.  We are considering on using Walgreens and keeping our eMed tests as backup except for when we fly back from Amsterdam.  I want to take 4 tests with us just in case we get one that is faulty or something.  One can only hope they stop the testing to return to US....

I used this on my last trip out of Florida.    Can I use this test and contact emed via Navica on my next sailing, but this time out of Amsterdam.   I'm not sure if I'm going in a couple days early, but might.   I think I also need a test to fly into Amsterdam.

Also if we fly home from Europe the day of disembarkation, is Royal testing us for the U.S. entry while still on board (typically the day before)????    Please say yes.

Amsterdam does not require a test to fly there now (since like the end of March).  Royal does not test for your return flight to US.  You can either test at the airport or take a eMed proctored test yourself the day before disembarkation.  This is what we are planning on doing in August.

  9. I never rely on TA to remind me of final payment.  I have an alert on my phone to remind me (i always pay mine usually 10 days before final payment).  Your TA messed up so I would think they should give you some OBC to compensate for their mistake; however, emails don't always get delivered when they should for whatever reason.  RCI has 5 pm as the latest to pay and it is clearly printed on your invoice copy.  You alone are responsible for your bills and you should have been proactive in paying the final payment.

i am on the Jewel cruise on August 19 from Amsterdam.  Knowing that the final payment date for the cruise is coming up in a couple of weeks i have been waffling about whether to cancel now or wait until much closer to sail time.  I am concerned only about getting tested before flying back to the US.  i depart the ship on docking day and then get transported to the Airport to stay at the Sheraton overnight and catch a flight on September 1.  i know there is a testing facility inside Schipol.  as of right now i cannot figure out how to get the test to fly site to be in English but still working on that.  i should have time once i get dropped at Schipol to get a test at the airport and i assume it is within a 24 hour period of time the flight departs.  i do hope this requirement to enter the US is dropped by August and all this unnecessary anxiety goes away.  i have been on this cruise before and it is amazing.  a few different ports from when i sailed in 2019.

We are on the same cruise!  I ordered eMed tests and will be taking them with us and testing on the ship (hopefully the internet will be good enough).  I really hope that testing for re-entry to US will be dropped by then.  It is being discussed I think so keeping my fingers crosses.

That makes more sense. I guess the real question is whether testing is required to enter the Netherlands. If that is the case then RCL would be obligated to perform the tests on the last day of the cruise.

We fly into Amsterdam for our Jewel OTS cruise in mid-August.  As of right now, we have to have a negative test no later than 3 days before arrival in Amsterdam and 2 days before boarding the ship.  We decided to fly 2 days before and test that morning to cover both Amsterdam requirements and RCI's.  As far as returning to USA after our cruise, we will be taking our eMed tests with us and testing with VOOM surf & Stream the night before we disembark.  I truly hope that the requirement to test before returning home to USA will be lifted and we won't have to worry about it.  However, this will be our plan.  If the internet is iffy during our cruise, then we will check on board to see if we can get/pay for testing thru RCI.  We may can test once we are docked early in the morning with our cell internet to do the tests but I don't want to wait until the last minute causing me lots of added stress.

I have the key for Independence of the seas December 20-24 out of Port Canaveral.  I had received the letter saying we did not have the priority boarding and embarkation lunch/disembark breakfast. But after they reinstated these things, called and they said if I bring a copy of that email, I can get the priority embarkation, embarkation lunch/disembark breakfast as well as keep the unlimited room service and 25% off food purchases. I had them put a note saying all of that on my account….we will see what actually happens!

I have an email from October 9th regarding the Key for our July 2022 cruise for no-fee unlimited room service.  I will definitely print it out and take with me to see if they honor it or not.  The Grands were looking forward to room service.

I wonder if anyone can explain the RCL L&S.  Our fall New England cruise is now cancelled and we would like to consider the L&S option.  I check the itineraries for next year and have found that RCL has the same length (nights), similar itineraries but a few ports are different from the cancelled one.  Will it meet the L&S requirement?  I had emailed RCL but have not received any reply yet.

    Thanks

We were scheduled for Oct 8 2020 (New England-Canada) on the Adventure. We did L&S to Oct 14 2021 (New England-Canada) on the Freedom without any issues.  There have been several in our roll call that did the same thing as we did.

If the web address starts with https it is a secure connection from your browser to the site.  If is is http it may not be secure.

Also, once you go to the site, before you enter your info, look at the address bar. If you see an icon like a closed padlock, you have a secure connection.  I just noticed CC is a secure connection.

The other option is to use a VPN.   However there have been some reports of some VPNs being blocked on some ships.

We were on NCL Getaway in November and we had to turn off our VPN to use the internet.
