I tried to click to acknowledge receipt, and it said my time to respond to it notification had expired. Guess we will be asked to sign a document in the port.

I received the same message when I clicked. However, I then received a 2nd email and clicking on the link worked that time.

The changes are effective for bookings made today and after.  So my 4 existing bookings are not affected, I guess.

The changes effect voyages that DEPART on or after April 12, 2023.

Since you are currently booked on a voyage that departs on or after April 12, 2023, the new legal terms will apply to your cruise

  3. This part on COVID concerns me - "may or will include mandatory use of face coverings outside of passenger's cabin."  Is this in case of a severe outbreak?

    COVID-19 Policies and Procedures. Passenger understands that Carrier’s COVID-19 Policies and Procedures may or will include (but are not be limited to): (1) providing an accurate, truthful and complete health questionnaire in a form and containing any and all health or travel-related questions as required by Carrier in its sole discretion, for each Passenger prior to boarding; (2) pre-embarkation and/or periodic testing and temperature checks of each Passenger; (3) modified capacity rules for activities (including but not limited to restaurants, gyms, and entertainment events onboard and for shore excursions) which may limit or eliminate the ability of Passenger to participate in particular activities; (4) mandatory use by each Passenger (except where medically contraindicated) of face coverings in most locations outside of the Passenger’s cabin while onboard, during embarkation, disembarkation and shore excursions; (5) mandatory social distancing of Passengers at any/all times while on board and during embarkation, disembarkation, and shore excursions; (6) additional restrictions during shore excursions depending on local conditions, including but not limited to denial of disembarkation at destinations unless participating in only Carrier-approved shore excursions; (7) mandatory hand- sanitizing by Passenger upon entry or exit of any public areas; (8) confinement of Passengers to cabins, quarantine or emergency disembarkation of Passenger if, in Carrier’s sole discretion, such steps are necessary to prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19;

Wow. The tips, WiFi and drinks alone would amount to about 50% of that cost. Was this some sort of "deal" or just straight of X's website? The price for our October TA in a balcony on Deck 7 on Reflection is US150 (£125) per person per night inc just the tips.

There were some great deals last summer.  My TA got a great group rate on the Beyond's October 2023 TA.  We are $150 per person per day for an IV with AL pricing.

What is Viking's policy about CBD gummies? I take these for sleep sometimes. Any insight would be helpful. Traveling in may different countries. TIA

Viking prohibits CBD oil in their terms and conditions -

Passengers who violate the laws of any jurisdiction are subject to being reported to law enforcement or customs authorities, arrest and prosecution.
Passengers who bring dangerous items, marijuana (including medical marijuana) or any illegal drugs or controlled substances on board are also subject to immediate disembarkation or denial of boarding. For people following this review just be aware Beyond no longer offers fixed early or late seating in any of the 4main restaurants. It doesn't matter what you chose as your dining preference precruise. The ship is 100% Select anytime dining.

It was explained that 40% of each dining room is allocated to precruise reservations, the remaining 60% for walk-ins.

This would explain way there have been posts on CC of people choosing fixed early or late set seating but able to make whole cruise reservations in whatever dining room they wanted.

Can you order the exclusive dishes of one main restaurant at another one?  I've seen reports that you can, but I wasn't sure if those reports were second hand or not.

OK, I don’t know where to ask this, so this general thread seems a good place.  Somewhere, a week or two ago, there was a discussion about taking hiking poles in carry on luggage if they don’t fit inside.  Can you pack them in a backpack with a few inches sticking out?  So worried about lost luggage for our September trip.  If not I guess I can buy a new, smaller folding pair.   Thanks for any help.

I brought hiking poles on our 2021 Viking TA and checked the TSA's web site.  They say hiking poles aren't allowed in carryon luggage, so I put mine in our checked bag.  It also says the final decision is left with the TSA agent so he or she may have considered them as mobility aids instead of sporting equipment.

People in our party went on the behind the scenes tour and loved it. They said it was well worth the price. They were told 1820 were on board.

Where was this tour posted and how did you sign up for it?  We're going on our first Celebrity cruise next year  and would love a behind the scenes tour.

  9. Thanks so much for one of the best cruise reviews I've ever read!  My first Celebrity Cruise will be next year on the Beyond, and we'll even be stopping in some of the same ports, so I've gleaned tons of information on the Beyond's restaurants and snack areas and quiet places to relax.  Do you have any Daily Programs from a sea day that you could post?  Our cruise begins in Rome and ends in Fort Lauderdale, so we'll have lots of sea days.  Just wondering what type of activities they have on those days.

We are booked on a British Isles Cruise starting July 1st and as yet no excursions are posted.  Booking windows for most categories of cabins have passed so I can only assume that it will be "every man for himself" once they are open.  Hate that, but hope that they post them in time to book private tours if we are unable to get anything but the included ones when they post.  There seem to be some problems with the specialty dining too ... it is the first day we can book and neither Manfredis or the Chefs Table show any availability before 9:00 PM on any of the 16 days!  Hoping it is a glitch and will hawk it for a few hours before I contact Viking.

Don't forget to remove any Restaurant reservations on that day before you try to book Chef's Table or Manfredi's.

Think of the Silver Spirits package as pre-paying your bar chit. No bill at the end of the cruise, for some this is "convenient". For us the Silver Service package isn't appropriate. I take it we can put you in the "no Silver Service" column as well

We purchased the Silver Spirits package because we had a large FCV to use up before we boarded.  I had already upgraded our cabin and purchased optional excursions but needed something else to use up our remaining credits.  Otherwise, we would not have purchased it because we seldom upgrade wines and did not drink that much.

I plan to have a picture of it before me for my daily morning sample into the spit tube. Thanks for the suggestion!

I followed Clay's idea of getting the pistachio bun in the Living Room (along with my tea latte) and taking it to the Restaurant to have with the lamb chops for breakfast - yum!
