  1. I have a cruise certificate from a land based casino.

Gave me the option to get a refund

Or rebook cruise with the following guidelines:

They are extending out the cruise certificates to include cruises up to December 31, 2021 but do not include cruises in June, July, Nye.

Have until May 12th to rebook using my ffc. They will approve the cruise with ffc even if they aren't in my latitudes account yet.

They will match the iteneraries that were on my original cruise certificate.

  2. I've learned a few things about booking vacations from this experience

    1. Don't book until you have to. i.e. opt to pay for gratuities until you have to.

    2. Be patient.  Don't rush to action a refund/cancellation.  Situation may change every day to your benefit.  Information is key. try to get as much information as possible, which is why these forums are great

    3. I will rather take the refund. cash is king and better in my pocket.

VERY HIGHLY doubt that.  It is for booking the cruise and what that might include, not anywhere being referenced as something that could translate similarly to OBC.

Thanks for the info for a first time cruiser.  My cruise was set to sail on April 12, one day after the 30 suspension. I will wait and see if they extend this suspension and try to get the refund rather than FCC.

  4. I have a land based cruise certificate.

I was told by the consultant that once the booked cruise is cancelled, it will take some time to get the money applied to a FCC.  She could not guarantee that when I call in 7 days later that the FCC will be available to use on the new booking's fees - admin, port fees, etc.  If the FCC is not available, then have to pay for the new fees and keep FCC.

Can I use the FCC on board for excursions, duty free shop, the spa, etc?

Yes, you can take your drink anywhere, but the drink card you will get from a land casino certificate will only entitle you to "well" (House) drinks - so if you are picky about what you drink, your choices are limited (You cannot call brands.) With the House drink card you can get bottled water, energy drinks or Starbucks coffee drinks (lattes, cappucinos, etc.) - none of which you can get with the actual NCL paid drink package - so that's a perk right there.  Actually, don't quote me on the coffee drinks - I have a higher-tier level casino drink card (Ultimate) so I can get Starbucks, but I don't know if that particular perk comes with all casino drink card levels (there are 3 - House, Ultra and Ultimate.)

Great info!! Can you provide examples of what a well drink is?

This is 100% accurate, however if you are the top status, seven star, you do receive one free cruise on select sailing.  This seven star "annual voyage" is on the same sailings as the front end certificate offers.  Attached screenshot is of the certificate offer.  I can assure anyone the offer code will not work for them but people can have fun trying.

I was there in Vegas at that time and that's how I got my cruise certificate.  I find that they offer this to me 2x per year. July and January.

    No. Caesars does not care.

Caesars offers you the free cruise certificate like they offer you any other promotion. Their objective is to get you to come to their casino for the minimum number of nights and gamble. They buy the free cruise certificates from NCL (a sister company) like they buy frying pans and pillows. Just another giveaway to get you to spend much more than the cost of the certificate in their casino.

That's great to hear. I really just want to relax on the cruise and leave the gambling to vegas. I'll pick up the certificates at Caesars if I want to go cruising instead. The card for the casino bar is a great perk. @BirdTravels, how did you know Caesars just offered me a tuft and needles mattress. Lol

When the casino is open, you can walk up to the casino bar with that card and get a drink.   You can then carry that drink with you to any other area of the ship.

I've never seen a casino close before 😅. What are the casino hours of operation?

I am such a clutz. Do they have those to go cups with lids like in Caesars in Vegas or can I bring my own and pour the drink in/ask them to fill them. Does that leave a bad impression? I will leave a good tip of course.

To directly answer your question, no, if you take a CET cruise offer on NCL, no NCL play is required.

There are three ways to get “free” cruises from NCL based on play.

    1)      CET Diamonds do not receive a free annual voyage; only seven stars do and they are only on select sailings.

    2)      NCL play can get you free NCL cruise, if you play enough, there are no restrictions barring the sailing isn’t chartered.

    3)      CET has front end “free cruise” offers which is based on CET previous play.

To expand on #3, your CET play, not status, determines if you receive the front end “Come this weekend to Vegas, stay with CET and pickup your free NCL cruise voucher during this time”.  At the most basic level, generally speaking, the CET offers you receive are based on your average play from previous past three CET trips.

Thank you! You have provided the most succinct answer. I hope CET continues to offer me #3 in the near future.

  10. I just booked my first cruise using a cruise certificate provided by total rewards/Caesars corporation as I am diamond

I don't intend to gamble on this trip and choose to instead treat it as a low cost vacation. I get these cruise certificate offers from Caesars at least twice a year. Once they know that I didn't gamble, will Caesars stop providing me these offers? I

Great thanks for the info, I'm headed to Vegas tonight and will talk to my host about any comps or deals I'm missing out on for NCL, then I'll keep my eye on the price for our cruise before I call and ask about upgrading or adding OBC

in regards to offers, I find that total rewards offers differ depending on your location. i.e. I am in Canada but they consider me an international players so my offers are different from some domestic players. but at the same time I get NCL offers.

  12. Hello!  I received a cruise certificate for NCL and this will be my first ever cruise.

I don't intend to gamble like I do in Vegas and i'm going for the food, activities and to spend time with family. I will be saving my coin for my next vegas trip the month after.

I was told that I would receive a card and free drinks in the casino (I don't have the unlimited drink package).   Can I just drink in the casino without buying in?  I don't mind chugging down the drink LOL or am I allowed to take the drink to any area of the ship?

    Thanks!
