  1. Regarding your 10am flight out of Barcelona. You can make that flight if your ship is not late arriving at the port. However, I would advise you to plan to leave the ship by 7am. The taxi queue can be long, but shouldn't be bad at 7.

You can arrange for a car service and avoid the taxi line. We used Barcelona Day Tours.

When we booked this cruise our idea of "escaping completely" wasn't leaving the ship at 7am LOL!

The change to the 10am flight occurred after we paid for everything. Currently we have Princess transfers so we'll have to see what type of arrangements they will make for us. I know that sometimes they use some smaller vans rather than have them wait on a larger bus to fill. If that isn't the case, we'll probably take your advice and arrange for a car or taxi.

This is our first experience with Princess Air - depending on how this all plays out, it could be our last.

    Thanks for the advice.

  2. You are correct - I meant CDG - for someone that spent 27 years in the military, I am terrible at abreviations and acronyms.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

  3. During our last three Carnival cruises there were numerous tables for two that were vacant the entire cruise during the late seating.

We always request by email a specific table near the Maitre'D station and although we've only received a response from the Maitre'D once, the request has always been met.

We send the email the week before we cruise.

  4. We originally were flying Delta from JFK to Venice. Last week we were notified of a change. Now we are flying from JFT to CDE then Venice. Our return flight from Barcelona also stops at CDE. We have a layover at CDE of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes each way.

The CDE to VCE and Barcelona to CDE and CDE to Atlanta legs of the flights are handled for Delta by Air France.

If any of you can help, we have several questions because it has been 19 years since we've been at CDE, and I'm sure there have been many changes.

When we arrive at CDE will we need to clear customs before boarding the Air France flight to VCE?

Will we need to obtain our baggage or will Delta transfer it to Air France?

How is movement between the terminals - bus/people-mover/rail??

Our cruise ship arrives in Barcelona at 5am? Our flight is scheduled to leave at 10am? Is this doable?

I am thinking 1 hour 45 minutes each way at CDE is enough time - do you agree?

    Thanks for any answers/advice.

  5. Although I too will miss Legend being here in Tampa, and would really like to know if a replacement ship will be named as only the (plain old) Paradise will be left. However I would be interested in a Panama Canal crossing when Legend does head off for Austrailia; any news on that yet?

We'll sign up for that. We've taken the Pride and Miracle through the canal and we're ready for another.

It will be interesting to see the rates for the repositioning to Australia. As I recall, the Spirit offered greate rates.

  6. What made them check the Listerine bottles, were they sealed? I have a bottle now soaking in soapy hot water for my April cruise.;)

One of the bottles was sealed & the bag was locked. The first thing that asked me was "do you have liquor in your bag?" . Evidently, they saw it when they x-rayed the bag and had the bag not been locked, would have gone through it.

I"m not sure I want them searching my bag.

  7. HI

One of the couples we are traveling with bought a suite..thus get the priority boarding.

I was hoping since we are traveling together we could get to join them in priority boarding..can that happen or am I just dreaming?

    Thanks

You never know until you try or at least ask. It will depend on how crowded the terminal is and what kind of mood the carnival rep that controls the line happens to be in.

  8. Well' date=' I already have my chosen dining confirmed. I get plenty to eat on the ship so priority boarding is no big deal...whether we sit and talk on the pier or on board the ship is no biggie. I don't carry anything onto the ship at embarkation that would facilitate a need to head directly to my cabin. There is nothing in my luggage I need "right away". I'm not "in a hurry" to get off the ship on port days...I'd rather have a nice breakfast. I'm always the last to leave the ship on debarkation days 'cause I want my vacation to last as long as possible. I probably only have to go to guest services once a cruise so an occasional wait doesn't bother me. Doesn't matter to me when I eat in the steak house or the italian restaurant...I just don't think they will both sell out the entire week.[/quote']

Well said - wish everyone felt this way.
