Normally we’re not Celebrity show goers, but I heard Jayne Curry practicing/doing a sound check yesterday afternoon and decided that we needed to go see her show! She did not disappoint!

While not all of her songs were what we normally listen to, we couldn’t help but be in awe of her voice and quirky showmanship.

Here is a snippet of her performance

We sailed on a TA pre Covid with Eddie Jenkins and he had Jayne onboard. He gave her free reign to organize entertainment in the theater with other guest entertainers, musical acts from around the ship as well as some of the talented staff. That turned out to be the best cruise for us in terms of entertainment.

  2. If you're in a suite, and especially an upper suite, it should be doable. I'm sure the day between cruises is very busy down in laundry since they're doing sheets, towels, etc. for the entire ship. When we were in a suite our butler was happy to take our laundry on the last full day (in the morning) and returned it that evening. Just check with him/her once onboard and they should be able to work something out for you.

  3. After 49 cruises with Celebrity and reaching Zenith we are doing our first MSC cruise in January, 25 on the Seaside. We booked the YC to try it out since Celebrity Retreat prices are now in the stratosphere. We still have some future Celebrity cruises booked in regular veranda cabins but we're looking forward to MSC.

Thanks for your uodate. Iooked at the picture of the ship and it showed the new suites and the mens locker room moved next to the womens but much smaller.  I really am happy if you are right. Taking the Constellation on the TA in November from Barcelona to Tampa and love to use the sauna once or twice a day

I was on the Millennium after they made the changes before Covid and the new locker room had a sauna but it was much smaller and there was no window, only a glass wall looking out to the changing room.

Looking into doing the Constellation again but not until 2025.

Have a great time on your TA in November!!

After being refurbished what is the layout of the Constellation mens locker room and sauna

Hi Waltbeth, I have not been on the Constellation since February but from what I've read when the ship went into 2 week dry dock, work was only done on the engines, painting and soft good updates (carpeting, some seating, Michaels Club, etc.). Cabins have not been updated, based on what others have reported, and the 10-12 concierge cabins to be built where the current men's locker room & sauna are was not done.

So it doesn't seem any refurbishments completed have affected the layout of the locker room/sauna area.

  6. After 49 completed cruises on Celebrity and attaining Zenith we booked for the first time on the MSC Seaside, January, 2025 in the Yacht Club. We wanted to try it out since suites on Celebrity are now so expensive. I've read many pros and cons of MSC and set my expectations accordingly but recently I've read a couple trip reports from former Celebrity cruisers and they were overall very happy with their decisions to sail MSC and will do it again. So that makes me feel more excited for experiencing something different. We still love Celebrity and have 4 cruises booked, but all in regular veranda cabins.

I experienced this banging noise on Beyond in an IV cabin, 7161, in November 2022.  I reported it on these boards.  We sailed Apex, IV cabin 7231, in November of 2023 and experienced no noise issues.  We’ve also sailed Edge several times in IV cabins with no noise issues.  This leads me to believe the Edge and Apex don’t suffer (at least to the extent) from the noise issues that Beyond does.  That worries me about subsequent builds.  We are sailing soon on Beyond in a Sunset Veranda and I haven’t heard reports of these aft cabins being affected.  I’ll report if our cabin does.

I believe it may have something to do with the fact that both Beyond and Ascent are wider and a bit longer than Edge and Apex. Just something with the interior structure that just isn't quite right on those ships. I would not be surprised if Xcel has the same issue once it sails.

  8. I think a lot of the recognition on the ships is up to the ship staff themselves. It just seems to be so inconsistent among ships. And I think we would have also been disappointed if there was no recognition.

We were pretty fortunate on the Connie last month. We had a wonderful Zenith celebration on the Bridge and were able to invite our friends to join us. Besides receiving the cake, flowers and a model of the ship, the Captain made a very heartfelt toast to us. We were also joined by the other senior officers and the CD (Sue Denning).

This was in addition to a comped specialty dinner, champagne and fruit in the room, a Zenith cocktail hour and, another day, a Zenith lunch. There were also other little surprises during the cruise and the Captains Club hosts were exceptional throughout the entire time.

If you have not heard anything before your next cruise you should, by all means, reach out to the Zenith desk.

  9. When we went to check in for our first cruise as Zenith last month on the Constellation in Tampa we were a bit hesitant since the sign stated "Suites" and not "Suites and Zenith". We walked up anyway and asked, and they let us through.

  10. This is most likely a pic of another E-Class ship. When we sailed on the Equinox in Retreat there was no bar. As 39august mentioned the staff took orders and went to another bar for them.

  11. Just got off the Constellation last Thursday after a 12-night cruise. Elite Happy Hour lounge was on 3 evenings in the Reflections Lounge on deck 11. Otherwise, you can go to any bar during the 12 nights from 5-7.

Although we could have we didn't make use of the lounge.

One of the perks of being a Zenith is a free upgrade up to Aqua if cabins are available.

I might be mistaken but I thought the Zenith perk of an Aqua cabin was only when reaching double Zenith.

  13. **UPDATE**

Thank you to everyone who provided me with information about expectations once reaching Zenith. I received a call from the Shoreside Retreat Concierge a couple weeks ago congratulating us on reaching Zenith. The call was followed up with us receiving a Zenith box in the mail yesterday. And I received an email from Shoreside asking about any requests needed for our upcoming Mardi Gras cruise on the Constellation next week.

We also booked our free cruise on the Apex for February, 2025. Everything seemed to go pretty smooth.🙂

  14. First, I am so sorry you came down with Covid on your cruise. There's nothing worse than getting sick while on vacation. I hope you're beginning to feel much better.

I'm also happy to hear that Celebrity stepped up and made your situation as stress-free as possible. Sounds like they handled it very well and were proactive in reimbursing you for the days you were in isolation.

And how hard is it to find?  I believe I was told it's at the top of the spiral stairs near the entrance to the spa and fitness center.  Is that correct?

Hi SSCruiser, It is at the top of the spiral stairs. It can be a little tricky to find at first but for the men's sauna and locker room there is an open doorway just to the right of the stairs and across from the Persian Gardens.

    Hello gents,

I’m still considering a short cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette later this year, but finding conflicting information on precisely WHEN this ship was last refurbished. I’ve seen mention  here as recently as August, 2023, of the sauna located in the men’s locker room still being intact. However, some of the refurbishment articles describing changes to the fitness area I found were dated October - 2023.

Calling Celebrity to inquire about such information is…a challenge.

Thanks in advance for your insights and I’d also welcome your recommendations on the best sites for information on ship refurbishments.

    Best,

    GigglewolfOfTheSeas

(founding OP of this thread, est. 2005 😈👍🏻)

The only refurbishments on Celebrity ships that affected the men's locker room sauna were on the M Class ships (only the Summit and Millennium were affected). Any refurbishments that S Class ships had did not affect the saunas.

So I am needing up to date info on Celebrity Reflection. Spreadsheet has some info but I am not sure if it's up to date.........Celebrity website shows deck plans as of April 30 2023 so I wonder if they did anything bad at the last dry dock??

    Thanks

The spreadsheet is pretty much up to date. No physical changes have been made to the free men's sauna area. Still 3-4 showers (don't remember exactly how many), small changing area with lockers, dry sauna (no steam) hold maybe 6 guys comfortably. I was just on Reflection last year.

What happens if engineers are not on board to fix these cabins,

Our ear plugs arrived today....hope they will not be needed on ASCENT other than in the theater or around the pool which a few  posts say has very loud music!

Hopefully, the stateside engineers will be onboard or, if not, the shipside engineers should be proactive if any cabins need attention. Our cruise was last February so I was surprised Moby Jones, who is currently on Beyond, stated that they still have shoreside engineers onboard addressing the issues.

You may be lucky and not have any noise at all. Not every cabin is experiencing the issues we had. Just keep the earplugs close by but having to use them is certainly not a way to a cruise.
