Do you know how the airlines would know you tested positive? What if I test positive on day zero, and then test negative on day 5. How would the airline prevent me from flying on day 5? Thanks in advance. (Still trying to figure this out just in case...)
That's a good point. I honestly don't think the airlines would know you tested positive because they are not notified by anyone else other then you if you're positive or not the day before flying. So I suppose, in theory, if you tested positive on day zero then negative on day 5 you would be good to go.
However, in my case I had to rebook my flight (so you most likely would have to also) but because you would have tested positive how would you know when to rebook. I was cleared to fly by a doctor (with the Letter) and had no symptoms and not infectious by day 7 but I continued to test positive until day 12.

Not sure what to tell you. The CDC allows it. It’s the airlines that sometimes give passengers a hard time with it.
I agree with you. We just flew home from Amsterdam last Sunday. I tested positive for Covid the day before we were due to fly home, which was on 4/28. My symptoms, which were very mild and was only a stuffy nose, started on 4/22. I was evaluated and given a Certificate of Recovery letter and was cleared to fly as of 5/1. However, United Airlines would not allow me to fly home until 10 days after the positive result with the date of the test being day 0. So we couldn't fly out of Amsterdam until 5/8.

Where did you quarantine in Amsterdam? Do you have anyplace to recommend? Was it easy to get food delivered or get take-out food? Thank you.
MDTrip-My symptoms (stuffy nose) started about 4 days before getting the positive result. I thought I had allergies because it was windy and, after all, it is spring. Anyway, I was able to move about since my symptoms had subsided but I had to wear a mask for 5 days. So I didn't have to quarantine and was able to get food myself by then.
Keep in mind though that the airlines will not allow you fly for 10 days from the positive test (with the test date as day 0). CDC regulations states travel after 10 days from symptoms or 10 days from a positive test if no symptoms. So we had to book a hotel for 10 days and stayed at the Hilton Schiphol Airport. Excellent hotel, good food and very pleasant staff. The airport worked out best for us because by week 2 we were taking the train to outlying areas for the day and trying to make the best of the situation. We also had contacted friends from Germany who came to visit.
If you would rather stay in Amsterdam Center I would recommend Banks Mansion. We've stayed there twice in the past and it was my second choice.

Did you have to wait several days or did you get it right away?
VitaminSea53- When I signed on to the website it provided me with dates and several times each day for the appointment. If I recall correctly there were appointments for the following day but I made mine for 2 days out. My DW just told me the letter came via email within 30 minutes after my appointment (which lasted all of 2 minutes). Also, appointments were generally in the evening (Europe time) since the doctors are located in the states.
The cost was $75

We were recently stranded in Amsterdam due to me testing positive the day before our flight home. I contacted QuickMDdotcom (was recommended by our Rivercruise line) to arrange for a Certificate of Recovery letter. I did not have to provide my passport number and I received the letter via email within 12 hours of speaking to a doctor (doctor was located in California).

We are on Equinox now in a RS and have Ilyas as our Retreat Host aka butler. He is terrible. We have never had a butler that we have to call for everything. I have to call for ice. No afternoon snacks or afternoon tea I requested. One more day and I am going to talk to Retreat Manager. I do not like to get anyone in trouble but he is not good. We do not ask for much.
Wow I can't believe you have such a terrible butler (Host). We had Orlando while in the Penthouse (#1611, port side). He was absolutely amazing and this was his first time back since the shutdown. He couldn't do any more for us then he did and we're not in any way demanding. I'm sorry you're going through this. If Jess is still onboard I would definitely speak to her and get it taken care of.

This is a 2 part question. We are on the equinox in May and the Summit in July. The Concierges can change by then but also can stay the same, can you both please share who was on board for your recent cruise. Thanks. (we think that a few may have moved over from the edge, hopefully!)
We sailed on the Equinox this month in a penthouse (thanks to the Move-Up from a sky suite) and the 3 Retreat Concierges were Connor, Laura and Yuliia. The Retreat manager was Jess and everyone was wonderful!!

After trying a billion times with different combinations on my IPhone I switched to my laptop, typed all the answers in lower case and used the number 4 for the last statement and it finally worked!!

Royal suites and above have Lavazzo regular and decaf coffee machines but your Retreat Host will bring you any specialty coffee you'd like.

Select dining is on the main floor whereas traditional dining is on the balcony level.

Maybe they are allowed to dock because of the number of people onboard but not sure since I thought docking in KW was based on tonnage.
Where they are docked today is a privately owned dock (Pier B) whereas the dock right at Mallory Square is owned by the city and the other dock further away is the Navy's Outer Mole Pier.

Concierge and Aqua Class cabins are about 190 sq ft and have the larger sofa. Regular veranda cabins are about 170 sq ft with what amounts to a love seat. Hope this helps!

GenerationX - We're also from the St. Louis area and feel your pain with this bitter weather. But heading on the Equinox in February for 12 days of bliss!!!
Enjoyed your last review and looking forward to reading about your time on the Edge.

You can write "cold water wash and low dryer ONLY" on the slip that gets sent out with the clothes. We always request cold water only. Not sure if it works but since we've requested this we've never had any issues. Prior to that, clothes always came back ok with the exception of a couple times where short sleeve tees came back faded and a couple shirts shrunk.
Never had any items missing.

We got the email for our recent Reflection cruise and filled out the questions easily. When I try to do it for my upcoming Constellation cruise the date of the cruise is not even listed. Anyone have any helpful work-arounds to make it work? Not a big deal as I'm sure our Retreat Host (aka butler) will get us what we need but it is a 40th anniversary for us and would like to advise them ahead of time
We also received the email for our upcoming February 2002 cruise however the cruise date selection only goes up to 2/3/2002. So, we're as stumped as you regarding a way to make this work.

Love the poem. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!!!

The S class ships, except Reflection, have the pool on deck 12 and the buffet on deck 14. On Reflection the pool was moved up 1 deck to deck 14 and rooms were added under the pool on deck 12 (there is no deck 13 on any ships). There is not physically an additional deck on Reflection.

Ok, the big red boat…. That was the first incarnation of a Disney cruise ship, right? That must be 20 years ago?
lol
The Big Red Boat we sailed on was the SS Atlantic back in 1989, 32 years ago....our first cruise. Yes, it had Disney characters and was the forerunner of Disney starting up their own Line.

Years ago on the Big Red Boat there was a submarine sailing right alongside the ship while we sailed into port. Cool Sight!!!

I'm sorry you are going through this and I understand your disappointment. We booked Mr. Sanchos when we were doing a Mardi Gras cruise in February of this year which was cancelled for obvious reasons. Mr. Sanchos refunded our money within a week so you should have no problem.

The last time we sailed, which was on the Infinity, the Martini Bar had both JW Red and JW Black. One of the bartenders told us he thought the Casino Bar had JW Green but we didn't check it out. So I suppose its best to check around at the different bars when you're onboard. You might be lucky and find something you like at the Sunset Bar

Maybe they are not sailing at 100% capacity so they are not having an early seating but rather Select Dining at any time from 5:30 on or an assigned table for late seating.
Edge Transatlantic Testing positive for Covid
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
NCNina-My positive test was on 4/27 and arranged my appointment for 4/29. I was able to get it quicker because my symptoms actually appeared on 4/21. which was 8 days before the online appointment (I thought my allergies were acting up). I had no symptoms by the time I talked to her. She released me for travel as of 5/1. However, the airlines dictate when you can fly in which case they stated I couldn't fly until 10 full days AFTER the positive test which was on 5/8.
Hope I didn't confuse you with all the dates.
