We wanted to apply FCC to cruise deposit because we really don't want to use our credit card again since everything is still up in the air. Tbh, I don't think sailing is possible until vaccine is out.

Latest from my TA;HAL says cant apply FCC to cruise deposit. Has to be cash. Really getting bad....
That was our intention, apply FCC to cruise deposit. I guess that's a wash. Yes, I agree things are really getting bad... Carnival Corp is probably heading towards bankruptcy. Companies with strong balance sheet survive others fail. We hear everyday which company is filing for bk on the news....Glad we disputed our charges with CC....
-
I just spoke to HAL rep and was told they do not know when FCC will be applied to my mariner ID. I hope it won't get lost in transit....as we have not received any form of email communication.

No cruises until a vaccine.
-
Cruising won't start until CDC says yes.

"Ultimately it all relates to cash flow and cash on hand. We know that Carnival Corp. had a cash crunch, therefore Holland America, Princess, Carnival, etc. were all limited in their ability to complete refunds."
That is correct. CCL don't have enough cash flow to refund us because they used our money to pay bills. Even with secure debt offering, with future Cruise Industry being uncertain, refund is now in the mercy of GOD.

I also received nothing from HAL. I opened HAL chat line. I gave my booking number and asked for total refund $. I then screen shot the conversation and saved it as documentation. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I’m just a little concerned if bankruptcy might be on the horizon.
Cruise cheerleades have been saying that it is too far ways down the road and your money is protected. IMO, why take a chance. I would wait little longer and act upon your best interest to protect yourself.

Different business structure or not, keeping our money more than 60 days of refund is not reasonable. We as a guest should not be held accountable if the CCL corporation did not have enough liquid on rainy day.
-
Thank you for your reply. We are done waiting and will definitely call our bank to start dispute. So many cheerleaders in this board are forgiving but I think we have given HA fair share of patience.

Disney Cruise line is certainly better than CCL in terms of refunding their guests. Our friend got their refund within two weeks of request. CCL is telling us 60-90 days and now don't know when but working on refunds is not an acceptable answer. And how many of you received email communication saying your refund has been processed. NONE!!

Hello, after waiting 60 plus days, we are ready to file cc dispute. Our HAL account still says canceled cruise is still active not showing cancelation. We need to provide documentation to CC company the amount of refund. We only mass email that HAL announced upcoming cancellation.

Please identify what cruise line has a rainy day fund equal to 6 months of total revenues, and expenses, with no new revenue coming in, but expenses continuing during that 6 months? Any type of business?
Disney Cruise Line

Who cares if this Mr Ashford is leaving.

That's no good. So HAL don't even have refund request on our file?? With the refunds now taking up to 180 days that's not an assuring response to hear from HAL since the company is in the verge of filing for bankruptcy.
-
Anyone receive email confirmation saying your request has been received and refund has been processed type of email acknowledgement. No communication from HAL. We want to file CC dispute and we need to provide proof that our booking is canceled by the merchant. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH HAL KEEPING US IN THE DARK.
-
Question is are you willing to pay more. Seabourn is double the cost of HAL for similar cruise.
-
Has anyone receive email confirmation when opting for option #1 or # 2 on HAL website? We received no email communication. Anyone request HAL to send acknowledgment of refund? I must say, HAL is really terrible at this.
-
Thank you DFD1, my thought is same as yours.

With both CEO departing CCL, is bankruptcy on the horizon? From what we heard on latest Q10 filing, CCL holds 4.6 billion in customer deposits which I believe CCL used our money to pay bills. Even with bond offering and such, CCL don't have enough liquid to cover current liability. We are losing faith each day. It seems like more and more are filing CC disputes as well.
-
So if CCL declares bankruptcy, my money is down the drain even if I file for CC dispute? Our August sailing is canceled and we opt for a refund and was told to wait 60 days. Should we wait 60 days or file for CC dispute now?
CCL owe us $6500.

Disney Cruise Line is not delaying refunds. Our friend received their refund within two weeks. No 60-180 days BS.

Almost 2 months in, pretty much zero on the refunds. Nope the workload excuse doesn't fly.
Yup, workload excuse doesn’t fly as they were ready to take our deposit when we called to rebook. Yes we did not rebook.

Let’s face it, CCL don’t have the money to refund us because they spent our money to pay bills. HAL cheerleaders can bash me all they want, but most of us have not seen our money.
Let me also say, Disney Cruise line have been refunding canceled cruises within 2 weeks. No complaints whatsoever.

Cruising starting up again.

CDC also dictates when cruising can resume. At this point, only solution is vaccine. Also, Covid-19 virus is not like HIV. Covid-19 behaves like SARS or MERS. Only reason why we don't have a vaccine against SARS was because there was no money to be made like Covid-19.
